Wendy's

Now normally I wouldn't complain about it and in the past I haven't.....I guess this just hit me on the wrong day.

I'm going to right headquarters of Wendy's about the way their employees react to a "no bun" request, this is the 4th wendy's in as many states that have to my face laughed when i ask for no bun. even though the sign on their menu says "counting the carbs? order with no bun!"

the girl who was putting the burgers together looked at me, laughed and rolled her eyes and took the bun off the burger and into a baked potato holder. I looked at the manager, who was standing right next to her and said, ma'am i'm allergic to wheat, i can't just have it be taken off the bun i need the burger not to touch the bread..........the manager then rolled her eyes and changed the burger.

only then to receive no ketchup and they put onions on it after a no onions request, i'm allergic to onions but i didn't even care i just took them off.

now i understand that this probably happens a lot and that's fine, i'm not as sensitive as many people are so if they just take it off the bun it won't mess me up as much as i know it does other people. My problem is that they openly made fun of me....probably thought i was someone on the atkins diet. which by the way if i were i'd still be offended by their behavior.

i realize this may be a lost cause but i'm just tryin to get some respect as a human being.

eesh

That's really pissy. I would also write the company and identify the store. On the other end, you're not going to get concerned people at fast food places. They don't care, the just need enough money to pay their car payment. The manager should be chastised without a doubt.

sorry for you experience.

That is so not cool!!!! Def complain to corprate! And let them know the manager was a problem as well. I am so sorry! How RUDE!

Mahee34 Enthusiast

it's not that i even expect them to care about the celiac disease....but in general, to make fun of a customer.....i mean working in fast food is a people oriented job, so i'm just sayin if you don't like people you don't have to work there....

i'm a bartender and it'd be like me laughing and rolling my eyes saying "no salt? who doesn't put salt on the rim of their margarita"

hahah i mean obviously i wouldn't do that because it's ridiculous, but i mean for some people no bun isn't a random request. them just taking it off the bun isn't really what i'm annoyed about, i realize that's a whoooole different issue.

It is very rude, but there are alot of people this way in fastfood. They don't care and they can hardly keep some of those places filled with employees. I am sure it is different depending on where you are live maybe. This is why I don't eat at places like that very often. They just make you feel aweful.

Sorry they were rude to you though. I would complain about the manager especially.

THINK I WROTE ABOUT THE SAME WENDY'S EXPERIENCE BUT I GOT GUTENED..ON TOP OF THE RUDENESS.

THEY MUST HAVE TO PASS ' A ROLLING EYES' TEST TO GET HIRED.:blink::rolleyes::rolleyes:

IT'S A EASY PLACE A FRIEND AND I EAT ABOUT EVERY OTHER MONTH..BUT NO MORE.

I didn't get rolling eyes when I asked specific questions. I got deer in the headlights looks. I think mainly because 3/4 of what works at these places now doesn't speak English. The staff roll over is phenominal at these minimum wage places.

I have a positive wendy's experience. The wendy's on 41st st. in SIoux Falls SD, is AWESOME> they never laugh, they make the food right there in the open and they are great! The employees all "know" what I mean when I say my son can't have wheat so please don't let the bun touch the meat. I just wanted to make sure that we don't lump all Wendy's into a bad category. There are some positives. BUT....I have had bad experiences elsewhere.

I just let the full fear of gluten into my voice as I wave my hands around saying "NO BUN! NO BUN!" Then I say (I know it's not completely truthfull, but they seem to understand.) "It's and allergy thing, it can't touch the bun." I grew up in an Italian neighborhood, and it's kinda of my impression of that.

It makes my kids laugh and the worker's get it right.

Has anybody asked for something without the bun and been told no even after you explained you will pay full price? This has happened to me twice. Ugh! One time it was in the heart of Washington, DC at the Smithsonian Cafe.

I was recently at a Wendy's and ordered a baked potato. It was wrapped in foil, so I thought I was safe. The preparer (who had just made a sandwich for another customer) removed the foil to cut the potato open. When I saw this, I requested another potato, and asked them to leave the foil on.

I’m having this type of MRI this afternoon,  What specifically do you want to know?  From what I’ve read, not all facilities use the same drink prep.

Hi I've been told I need a MRI on my bowels , I was booked for a colonoscopy, but because of my sever back issues and trapped nerve it can't be done , the nurse told me I will have to have a manitol drink a hour before the scan , I'm just a bit worried has I have issues with sweeteners like even a little,  I get a weird throat and ears and I've read it is a similar substance , not sure if anyone has had one of these scans or could give me some advise on the drink prep thanks in advance 😄

Hi all ! Can a celiac attack be so intense that it causes your entire body to work in reverse? Meaning really bad pain,  neuropathy and muscle,  jaw pain,  the stomach issues , Horrible anxiety and confusion??  I had a Tums and you would think I ate poison. My jaw and stomach did not like it . Not the norm for me. Things that are simple are just out of control. Anyone ever have this happen??  I'm trying to figure out what I ate or did to bring on a celiac like attack. I had an idea before but yesterday I didn't have any gluten unless it was in a medication ?! Any positive suggestions ??  Thank you

The following two lists are very helpful for anyone who is gluten sensitive and needs to avoid gluten when shopping. It's very important to learn to read labels and understand sources of hidden gluten, and to know some general information about product labelling--for example in the USA if wheat is a possible allergen it must be declared on a product's ingredient label like this: Allergens: Wheat.
