You might have to contact the companies that manufacture the various brands of cooking oil available to you and ask them if the seeds they extract the oil from ever come in contact with equipment also used to process wheat, barely or rye.

It’s possible anything could get contaminated with gluten, but it’s pretty unlikely that olive, corn, or other naturally gluten-free oils would be contaminated.

Thank you very much for your kind response. Can i buy simple bottled corn oil? Would it be gluten free?

Thank you for your kind response. Actually i emailed many manufactures but no one has responded yet. I don't know what to do now

I have had success with placing a phone call to the companies. The receptionist usually connects me to the right department to address my question. If the department representative I speak to can't answer my question then they will take my phone number and email address for the purpose of getting back to me after researching the question. That has worked well for me here in the USA. I don't always get answers that completely rule out the possibility of cross contamination but I do get a clearer picture of the likelihood of it.

Thank you sir... I wish manufacturers had responded my queries the same ways as you got.

I can't guarantee that a random bottle of corn oil purchased in India would be gluten-free, but again, gluten in oil manufacturing would be bad in many ways...the oil would likely not be clear. I've never heard of wheat oil or barley oil, so I really can't imagine that the machinery used to make corn oil would be used for anything else.

Wheat germ oil does exist, although if refined it should no longer contain gluten. That is the only oil I know of or can find online that might contain gluten.

If the corn oil manufacturer doesn’t also make wheat germ oil the corn oil should be fine.

If the corn oil manufacturer does make wheat germ oil on the same equipment but the corn oil is refined, it should also be fine.

Yes, I was thinking in terms of cooking oil, but thank you for pointing that out. Corn oil should be safe, as well as olive oil, and others.

Sir it means all corn oils of any brand are gluten free. correct?

As mentioned, I would never make that claim, but am pointing out that gluten in corn oil would be very unlikely.

She used to take supplements, but her abdominal pain is so debilitating that she hasn't been able to continue.  Her primary care team has been suggesting liquid supplements rather than pill form to help.  They just drew a lot of blood Friday and we are slowly getting all that work back.  I will definitely check into thiamine!  Thanks!

They have not done that yet.   We are looking at some other treatments to help. And you are correct.  The tickborne illness has been a wild ride.  Our whole family has been battling different tickborne illnesses.  Its expensive and exhausting.

I cannot tolerate it at all - triggers burning and nausea, ditto aspirin.  Here in the UK I take Paracetamol.

For back pain, I take a combination of Cobalamine B12, Pyridoxine B 6, and Thiamine B 1 (in the form Benfotiamine), which have an analgesic effect.  These three B vitamins together work way better than those over the counter pain relievers.  Theses are water soluble B vitamins that are easily excreted via the kidneys if not needed.  Thiamine will also help the nausea. @stephaniekl, welcome to the forum, Is your daughter taking any nutritional supplements?   Weight loss and failure to thrive are two symptoms of thiamine insufficiency.  Thiamine deficiency symptoms are not recognized as such by doctors.   I experienced similar symptoms when I became malnourished.  Thiamine deficiency symptoms can become worse quickly, and can affect one emotionally and mentally.  Although blood tests for thiamine aren't accurate, do have your daughter checked for nutritional deficiencies.  Thiamine B 1 works with the other B vitamins and magnesium.  Thiamine and Niacin B 3 help improve Gerd.  All the B vitamins are frequently low due to malabsorption.  Vitamin D will help calm the immune system.  Thiamine helps the immune system fight off viruses like those tick borne illnesses.   Thiamine Mononitrate, which is in many vitamin supplements, is not bioavailable.  I was taking a multivitamin containing thiamine mononitrate and still became deficient in thiamine. Thiamine in the form Benfotiamine has been shown to promote intestinal healing.  A form called TTFD (tetrahydrofurfuryl disulfide) is also excellent for correcting thiamine deficiency.  A combination of Thiamine, Cobalamine B12, and Pyridoxine B 6 has analgesic properties.  I take it for back pain.   Keep us posted on your progress!
