Thanks for posting that, Moongirl. When I suggest BE, I always follow with "their skincare line is not gluten-free". The skin rever-upper is also not gluten-free. No matter what product you use, it's always best to check the label

give mineralbasics a try, its all gluten-free and great stuff, I used to use only BE, but I like this better and the prices are amazing!

Hi This may sound stupid, but are you saying that gluten in makeup absorbed into the skin affects your intestines?? I guess I never thought of it. So I can't use bare escentuals? wow....

No gluten is not absorbed thru the skin. Some Celiac's do have skin problems when they put lotions containing wheat on their skin (rashes and dermatitis herpiformis) but I'd say most of us do not. The problem is that its very hard to keep skin lotions away from our mouths.. you have to be really careful not to apply near your mouth and then to wash your hands carefully. Some say if you even touch your face hours after you put a lotion containing wheat on it that your hands are filled with gluten.

Its my understanding that the Bare Essentials make up is gluten free, its just their skin care products that are not. However when I started using bare Essentials I got a lotion with the kit that contained wheat (I didn't realize it at first) and I do use it around my eyes and on my forehead and I've not had any problems with it. I doubt I'd buy it again because I hate being so careful but I must say I love how it works.

Can you tell me more about why you like Mineral Basics? I am trying Bare Minerals right now, but I'm willing to switch to something cheaper and definitely 100% gluten free. I'd love to hear more about why you like Mineral Basics!
