Maybe you were brought here for a different reason ... maybe you will need to know in the future what a bulls-eye rash looks like ... hopefully so you can help someone -- a complete stranger rather than a friend of family member :P -- get treatment right away in an attempt to avoid chronic lyme.

I'm here for support too and I've made some good friends. :)

That dosen't mean we all have to have the exact same illness. There's a lot more to us than that :D

Yeah, we're all hot babes with great hair, too!!!

Hi y'all- Drive by hello. I just haven't been able to keep up with the thread (tired- my mojo went wherever Richard's did- hope they're having fun!) But, I heard that you were wondering where I'd been (hope the dingos were not sent out)

So,...... I wanted to pop (or should I say poop in my case!) in and say hello and wish everyone peace love and wubs :wub::wub:

I feel so grateful to have met such a group of amazing people and such an inspiration to fight. I hope you all have a great week. I am thankful to "know" all of you even if it is cyberically (is that a new word for the rachelville dictionary?) :P

happy Birthday to Seth and Andrea, special wishes to you.

Hi Bev, good to see you :) I was about to call for a Dingo rescue  I haven't been able to keep up either, my brain has been all in a fog, nothing computes...

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SETH

Quick question, what test kit do I order from IGenX? Are there many to choose from? If someone has specifics regarding this I would so grateful for the info :)

...and I apologize in advance if this has been asked/covered already, I just don't want to go back and get lost

Julie, I got the complete Lyme Panel.

Thanks so much Carla :) Always so helpful you are! And you deliver everything with a smile

Another quick question, does it absolutley positively 100% have to be IGenX???? Can other labs competently do the western blot testing?

jerseyangel Proficient

Question about Igeneix--if a miracle occurs, and my new doctor will test me for Lyme, can she order the test from them--or does she just send the blood sample to them

I knew that Richard was a mischievious influence. I hope your mojo comes home. :)

In answer to the question as to a girl or boy, they don't know and are looking forward to being surprised. I am thinking, of course, that this is going to be the cutest baby ever, he has red hair and she is Japanese. I keep wandering into baby shops and picking up sleepers and such and thinking a real baby is going to fit in these. I am so happy for them and for me too.

I would have blamed my mojo as well - that is until Ms. Beverly from Beverly posted Open Original Shared Link on another thread. Now I'm REALLY CONCERNED about my mojo :o . If they've run off together I can only imagine...

AndreaB Contributor

Patti,

I think you have to have the paperwork from Igenix to send in.

GGGRRRR!!!

Just found out that we won't be all sitting together on our flights. One flight doesn't have any of us together.

Sometimes it's more fun that way. Let somebody else watch the kids on the plane :P Maybe they can "help" the flight attendant :)

I love surprises of this kind!

We'd love to see a picture after he/she is born.

Rinne,

The baby news is exciting! :D I love shopping for baby things--and I agree, this is going to be one beautiful child.

Andrea,

I was afraid of that--I'll take it one step at a time. Thanks :)

I had my kids back in the dark ages--we never knew if we were having a boy or girl--it was just a nice surprise. (But, I "knew" they were both boys--I could feel it)

Julie, I think Bowen is a lab that is also considered reliable but I would want to check on that. Stephen Buhner, in "Healing Lyme" talks about the various tests and their weakness, it looks like there are new tests coming that are more reliable than the Western Blot. There is one that Bowen labs does now I think. He talks about Igenex as being an excellent lab and the importance of the quality of the lab work done. It is a little beyond my capacity for scientificness at the moment but basically Igenex pays close attention to detail and many other labs don't.

Question about Igeneix--if a miracle occurs, and my new doctor will test me for Lyme, can she order the test from them--or does she just send the blood sample to them

I don't know. My doctor's office took care of it all but then they use Igenex on a regular basis. Have you checked the Igenex site, maybe it says on there?

rinne, congratulations on the grandbaby to be :) Very exciting!

Wanted to add that my thoughts and prayers are with Evie and her family.

I think it's like Siberiacally (like when you're really cold- you're Siberia cold!)

Rinne- Supercool about the baby! It's so cool it's Siberia cool.

Yes- Richard and i suspect our mojos have run away together (we think we were twins seperated at birth- I was adopted so it's possible). We suspect they have gone on a vacation somewhere tropical. Like this:

Open Original Shared Link

I hope they're having fun! I got soyed and then glutened (by body lotion which I read the ingredients on and realized once it was way too late and i had already racheled a bag of gluten-free breadsticks  ). Soy + gluten=pain and the blues.

Missing my mom this Thanksgiving too. Sorry I'm being a party pooper. I'll try to cheer up!

CarlaB Enthusiast

For Igenex, if it's a lab that your doc doesn't normally use, you call them and order the kit for no charge. You take it to your doctor, then he/she takes the blood and sends it in. I would order the kit just to be sure.

Bev, it's our job to cheer YOU up!!! Just take another look at Richard's turkey ... it's really good for a laugh! Wouldn't it be funny to put foil over your turkey so that it looks like that on Thanksgiving!!!

I still miss my dad after 10 years! You're entitled to feel blue! I always think of him still on his birthday, father's day, Christmas etc.

jerseyangel Proficient

Donna and Bev--I'm so sorry that both of you are feeling blue :(

To play it safe, use Vasoline Lip Therapy. No questions as to it containing gluten.

jmartes, Thank you for sharing  more information with us. Most of us Celiacs whose problems do not clear up with in a few years have to decide what to do next. We can keep seeing DR.s and hope that we will get some  medication or advice that will improve our health. Or we can go looking for other ways to improve our health. Usually Celiac Disease is not a killer disease, it is a disabling disease as  you have found out. You have time to find some ways to help you recover. Stay on your gluten-free diet and be more careful in avoiding cross contamination . KnittyKitty  and others here can give you advice about avoiding some foods that can give you the gluten auto immune reaction and advice about vitamins and supplement that help celiacs. You may need to take higher doses of Vit. B12  and D3.  About 20 years before a Dr. suggested I might have Celiac disease I had health problems that all other Dr said they could not identify or treat. I was very opposed to alternative providers and treatments. So many people were getting help from a local healer I decided to try that out. It was a little helpful but then, because I had a good education in medical laboraties she gave me a book  to read and what did I think. With great skeptism I started reading and before I was half way through it I began using the methods outlined in the book. Using those herbs and supplements I went from hardly able to work to being able to work almost fulltime. I still use that program. But because I had undiagnosed celiac disease by 10 years later some  of my problems returned and I started to loose weight.    So how does a person find a program that will benefit them? Among the programs you can find online there are many that are snake oil scams and some that will be beneficial. by asking around, as I did. Is there an ND in your area? Do they reccomend that person? If you would like to read about the program I use go to www.drclark.net

It's unfortunate that they won't work with you on this, but in the end sometimes we have to take charge of our own health--which is exactly what happened to me. I did finally get the tests done, but only after years of going down various rabbit holes and suffering. Just quitting gluten may be the best path for you at this point.

My doctor didn't take the time to listen to anything. I don't even think she knows what it means. She is more concerned about my blood pressure that is caused by her presence than anything else and just wants to push pills at me. The so-called dermatologist wouldn't do a skin test. she prescribed all of these silly antihistamine skin meds. This lady didn't even know what she was talking about and said "they never turn out as celiac, they usually just say it's dermatitis so here's your meds," just like my regular quack. I'm trying to change insurance companies at the moment and that has been a battle because of red tape, wrong turns, and workers having wrong phone numbers. What a joke! The allergy blood days say I have a wheat allergy of .31. Hopefully it's just that and until I find a decent doctor and dermatologist, I'll just lay off the wheat anyway, since it gives me asthma, high blood sugar, and joint pain. So frustrated at this point. The rash on my back of arms/elbows is mostly gone. Both calves and chest have started up. smh. It comes and goes. It fades faster now, though, although my forearms still produce one or two bumps on each side. The itching has calmed down a lot except for the bump area. I have dry skin to begin with so anything affecting it just makes it crazy. i'm never going to eat wheat again. I don't care if they need it to produce results or if it is just an intolerance, allergy, or celiac. It gives me hell.

I had the test done by one of the specialist through second pcp I had only a few months because he was saying I wasn't.Even though Im positive HLA-DQ2 .My celiac is down played.I am with new pcp, seeing another girl doctor who wants to do another breathe test next month though Im positive sibo this year.I have high blood pressure not sure if its pain from sciatica or sibo, ibs or hidden gluten. Im in disability limbo and I should have never been a bus driver because im still suffering and trying to heal with zero income except for my husband. This isnt fare that my health is dictating my living and having ti beg for being revalidation of my disregarded celiac disease. Its an emotional roller coaster I don't want to be on and the medical made it worse.New pcp new gi, exhausted, tired and really fed up. GI doctor NOT girl..
