I had my appt. with Dr. P....I totally like him so far!! :D

Wow, sounds like a GREAT appointment. That's it...after I find out about the ampulla thing, I'll start thinking about seeing Dr. P! Also VERY interested in the voodoo lady!

On a side note, I'm really excited about these NAET treatments I'm having done. I am feeling better...having about a decent day at least once a week. She told me to slow down and NOT go overboard on the decent days because I have no "reserve" and it will be self defeating.

Yay!!!! Yes, and listen to her!!! This is what we were talking about a couple of days ago...it's easy to overdo when we feel good.

Speaking of pins (and needles) LOL, I have been sewing like crazy...made a dress for one of my daughter's bridesmaids...to see if my daughter likes it for the wedding. She hasn't seen it yet, but I think it looks great.

Wow, you are very talented!!!

What's a voodoo lady? Is she a healer or something?

Nah, someone who is more alternative. It's our little nickname for someone who does testing/treatment outside of the mainstream. BioSET or ART is considered voodoo by most people, lol.

I can't wait to be telling you all about the fun stuff I will be doing...SOON! :):D

Kassandra,

I am so glad that the NAET treatments are working for you! Hope you can get that bleeding under control.

April-

I wondered about that...but i don't know. I get thyroid hormone toxicity...it's not an allergic reaction, it's like an overdose and only when I take T3.

I know of a place that does NAET. I will call and ask them.

Thanks for the idea-

Nancy (nanjkay)

Does it have to be filtered through the liver? I know the liver has to filter a lot of hormones and if its blocked then the hormones build up in the body causing toxicity.

I wonder if Naet or acupuncture would help with this. Sounds like you and Rachel are similar.

I started Enula last night. 1 drop 2 times a day, then I move up from there.

I loved Music and Lyrics also, mainly because Hugh Grant can do NO wrong in my book.

I totally agree with you about Hugh Grant Nancy!

That is so cool you are a movie critic for your newspaper. I LOVE watching movies too, having every movie channel on cable helps the cause

But I am a real Star Wars freak. I'll watch anything Star Wars. I don't care if it's good or not. And I will go see Attack of the Clones. :D

I know I'm a nerd.

 Lisa, you're not a nerd!

I loved the older Star Wars movies. I haven't watched the new generation stuff though, can you believe that? Is it as good as the older ones?

I went to the gyno today and of course my pain was gone! LOL! She said if I had gone in yesterday she would have given me a shot of a narcotic to help...since nothing was helping.

On a side note, I'm really excited about these NAET treatments I'm having done. I am feeling better...having about a decent day at least once a week. She told me to slow down and NOT go overboard on the decent days because I have no "reserve" and it will be self defeating.

But it's amazing to have days where I don't feel like I'm dying. :) I don't feel great, but definitely some improvement. :D

Just wanted to report some happy stuff along with all the other crazy stuff that's going on for me.

Kassandra, good to hear from you!! I have been thinking about you, hoping you have been ok

I'm so happy the NAET treatments are making a difference for you, and I'm glad the cramping pain is gone.

Ditto on how amazing you are!!!!! Keep hanging in there :)

Everyone, I am starting to feel like a pincushion I am taking so many shots. Lets see, its up to 13 a week I think.

Sherry, you are so brave! Just the thought of needles and being stuck makes my veins hide

That's so neat you are making the bridesmaid dresses for your daughter's wedding :)

Hubby starts an 11 day vacation. Im hoping to keep feeling good so we can do soemthing on this vacation, unlike last vacation lol

I hope you have some good days so you can do something fun while your hubby is on vacation Paula :)

I forgot to mention that he wanted to do an iodine test. Anyone familiar with that??

I did an iodine test years ago Rachel, I painted iodine on a body part (like the top of my foot or abdomen in a 4 inch by 4 inch square I think) and if it absorbed quickly it meant you were deficient in iodine...something like that.

But I don't think that is the type of iodine test you are talking about.

I started Enula last night. 1 drop 2 times a day, then I move up from there.

Yay April. How do you feel so far?? Probably too early to tell

And Carla- did you ever ask Dr. H if it was OK to take ALA with Mepron?

Carla- do you think removing the bartonella from the GI has rid you of your food intolerances?

I did not ask because the PA specifically told me to keep taking the ALA at the same appt. she prescribed the Mepron.

I think the bart treatment was one piece of the puzzle, but I think that the parasites were an even bigger piece.

I did see the new Batman and I thought it was too long and I didn't care about the characters or what happened to them. The action was good, but it was too depressing. I liked Iron Man much better. I can't wait to see Tropic Thunder with Ben Stiller and Robert Downey Jr.

Nancy

I was beginning to think I was the only one out there who didn't like Batman. I loved the last one. This one considered the Joker to be the comedic relief, which though the performance was excellent, it was too intense to be the comedic relief for the movie. It was too dark.

I loved Iron Man .... and Hancock.

She told me to slow down and NOT go overboard on the decent days because I have no "reserve" and it will be self defeating.

I'm glad you're making progress. I know what you mean about these days .... It was hard to lay down and rest when I was feeling good, but I forced myself so that I could use some of that energy for healing.

Oh...about the one-fingered typing. I think I type just as fast as you guys...AND I still have a free hand! :P

No way. I type very fast, without looking. You can't move your one finger around the keyboard as fast as I can type. We will have to have a typing contest sometime.

I hope the Lyme isn't binding the metals for you. Sounds like a great doc.

Completely off topic....

I'm just sitting here watching a VERY greedy squirrel hanging off my neighbors hanging bird feeder eating all the bird seed. Two birds just tried to land and the darned squirrel just ran them off. He's discovered that the top comes off and almost fell inside.

Birds are lining up on the roof waiting for the thing to get off, but nope, dang squirrell is going to clean that feeder out of every single seed.:P

Did you know squirrels can eat upside down!

Oooopps he just jumped off....small bird jumped on. :P

 Donna, this is what happens when you are all copped up like that for so long!

Does anybody know what causes those little tiny blood blister looking things all over the body? They are just little tiny raised bumps that are bright red like blood......

Have we talked about these before? I don't even know what I would look for in a search.

Mercury.

According to my dentist, it's where mercury blocked a vessel and a way around was made.....something like that anyway.

I can follow trails of them on me and hubby has them too.

Donna,

Squirrels are definately pigs and love bird seed! We had an open feeder that one would climb in and gorge on......that was many years ago......like 10-12 years ago.

Mine were caused by bartonella. They're called petechiae.

I don't think the raised ones are petachae...I've got both. One doctor said the raised ones where cherry angiosomething....nothing serious. Now, she was a regular duck and I fired her eventually, so while I believe they are nothing serious, I do think they have a cause...just don't know what they are. I also have petachae (sp??)...those are not raised but look just like a spot of blood...sort of like you were pricked by a tiny pin.

I have some bookmarks at work...I'll see if I can remember some and post in a minute.

I think Bartonella causes tiny red blisters.

EDIT: I see Carla already mentioned this. :)

I have two of them. One on my breast and one on my leg...only slightly raised. I dont get additional ones....just the same two I've had for most of the time I've been sick.

For some reason at times they will appear to be a brighter red.

I have no idea what caused them....but I'm fairly certain its not Bart.

Yeah, I've got lots and lots of both kinds...raised and not raised. Fortunately for me the unraised ones are really really small so barely show up. The raised ones are mostly on my chest/abdomen and a couple on my legs.

Rachel--24 Collaborator

Mine doesnt sound like either of those.

Its never gotten larger like the cherry angioma...and it doesnt look like the pic.

It also doesnt disappear....its always there...the only thing that changes is that sometimes its brighter.

dlp252 Apprentice

I found my favorite picture (the one that doesn't gross me out, lol) of petechaie:

My cherry angiomas get kind of big...the other ones stay the same.

Thats actually what mine look like. There's only two though....they're both real small like in the pic.

I've had these same two for years now. What could it be?

Yep, the picture is what mine look like to, with the exception of one which is raised. My dentist says they are caused by mercury. He has a lot of them.

I don't think the new ones are as good. But it could be nastalgia. I went to all the star wars movies with my dad. I was a kid and it seemed like such a "big" kid movie for some reason.

I feel fine - nothing wierd yet!

I was told those are cherry angioma's. Sort of like a capillary that bursts at the skin.

I have some on my chest area.

Mercury.

According to my dentist, it's where mercury blocked a vessel and a way around was made.....something like that anyway.

Could be that too. I never had any until I became overloaded with toxins.

aprilh Apprentice

Mine look more like the Petechie. I got mine when I was most toxic and my lymph system was really blocked.

Rachel--24 Collaborator

April, I got mine when I was most toxic too. All of a sudden I got two red dots...out of nowhere...and it loooks like I'm stuck with them now.

This reminds me...and I dont know if I mentioned it yet??

Remember the vein that got damaged during one of my mineral IV's. It was really swollen, hard and discolored...and the nurses said it would probably stay that way.

Well guess what...its totally healed. :D

Its been healed for awhile now and there is no sign of it at all...I cant even feel it anymore....its totally disappeared. :)

Try petechia, plural petechiae.... I see you got a lot of answers already.

I have some of these too.

Is there anything that can be done to remove them?? Anybody know?

I don't know for certain, but I assume not.

I might suggest you consider buckwheat groats. https://www.amazon.com/Anthonys-Organic-Hulled-Buckwheat-Groats/dp/B0D15QDVW7/ref=sr_1_4_pp?crid=GOFG11A8ZUMU&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.bk-hCrXgLpHqKS8QJnfKJLKbKzm2BS9tIFv3P9HjJ5swL1-02C3V819UZ845_kAwnxTUM8Qa69hKl0DfHAucO827k_rh7ZclIOPtAA9KjvEEYtaeUV06FJQyCoi5dwcfXRt8dx3cJ6ctEn2VIPaaFd0nOye2TkASgSRtdtKgvXEEXknFVYURBjXen1Nc7EtAlJyJbU8EhB89ElCGFPRavEQkTFHv9V2Zh1EMAPRno7UajBpLCQ-1JfC5jKUyzfgsf7jN5L6yfZSgjhnwEbg6KKwWrKeghga8W_CAhEEw9N0.eDBrhYWsjgEFud6ZE03iun0-AEaGfNS1q4ILLjZz7Fs&dib_tag=se&keywords=buckwheat%2Bgroats&qid=1769980587&s=grocery&sprefix=buchwheat%2Bgroats%2Cgrocery%2C249&sr=1-4&th=1 Takes about 10 minutes to cook. Incidentally, I don't like quinoa either. Reminds me and smells to me like wet grass seed. When its not washed before cooking it makes me ill because of saponins in the seed coat. Yes, it can be difficult to get much dietary calcium without dairy. But in many cases, it's not the amount of calcium in the diet that is the problem but the poor uptake of it. And too much calcium supplementation can interfere with the absorption of vitamins and minerals in general because it raises gut pH.

What you’re describing really does not read like typical IBS-D. The dramatic, rapid normalization of stool frequency and form after removing wheat, along with improved tolerance of legumes and plant foods, is a classic pattern seen in gluten-driven disease rather than functional IBS. IBS usually worsens with fiber and beans, not improves. The fact that you carry HLA-DQ2.2 means celiac disease is absolutely possible, even if it’s less common than DQ2.5, and many people with DQ2.2 present later and are under-diagnosed. Your hesitation to reintroduce gluten is completely understandable — quality of life matters — and many people in your position choose to remain strictly gluten-free and treat it as medically necessary even without formal biopsy confirmation. If and when you’re ready, a physician can help you weigh options like limited gluten challenge, serology history, or documentation as “probable celiac.” What’s clear is that this wasn’t just random IBS — you identified the trigger, and your body has been very consistent in its response.

oh that's interesting... it's hard to say for sure but it has *seemed* like oats might be causing me some vague issues in the past few months. It's odd that I never really connect specific symptoms to foods, it's more of an all over feeling of unwellness after  eating them.  If it happens a few times after eating the same foods- I cut back or avoid them. for this reason I avoid dairy and eggs.  So far this has worked well for me.  oh, I have some of Bob's Red Mill Mighty Tasty Hot cereal and I love it! it's hard to find but I will be looking for more.  for the next few weeks I'm going to be concentrating on whole fresh fruits and veggies and beans and nuts and seeds. I'll have to find out if grains are truly necessary in our diet. I buy brown rice pasta but only eat that maybe once a month at most. Never liked quinoa. And all the other exotic sounding grains seem to be time consuming to prepare. Something to look at later. I love beans and to me they provide the heft and calories that make me feel full for a lot longer than a big bowl of broccoli or other veggies. I can't even tolerate the plant milks right now.  I have reached out to the endo for guidance regarding calcium intake - she wants me to consume 1000mgs from food daily and I'm not able to get to more than 600mgs right now.  not supposed to use a supplement until after my next round of testing for hyperparathyroidism.   thanks again- you seem to know quite a bit about celiac.

Welcome to the celiac.com community, @SilkieFairy! You could also have NCGS (Non Celiac Gluten Sensitivity) as opposed to celiac disease. They share many of the same symptoms, especially the GI ones. There is no test for NCGS. Celiac disease must first be ruled out.
