I've never worried about hair color having gluten in it, I'm more worried about shampoo and conditioner.

Funny, Chelsea, about the tattoo and your mom. I work with college students and warned them, if you get a tattoo get it "here" and I motion the upper part of your butt cheek, if you're getting a weird piercing, get it through your tongue or belly button. That way if you are more conservative (probably because of work) when you're older, then you have no evidence of your wild youth!!! Hair color is a great way to express yourself, too, since it's reversible. That being said, my girls don't get to do any of that till college, and my boys, till they're paying their own bills. :P

I always let my teens defy me with their clothes and hair, I think it helped keep them from defying me in less obvious ways like drugs or immorality. Of course I let them know what I think of bright red hair and pj bottoms as outdoor wear. In their opinions on a much too regular basis

So far, no problems with defiance ... Neither of my teenagers drink out with their friends and their friends consider them so straight-laced, but I let my kids have an occassional drink at home ... I split a bottle of champagne with my daughter before her graduation party ... I don't think her friends believed her! I think it is important to relate, and it's different with each kid and each family. Totally understand what you're saying, I think the kids need some space to be themselves.

I don't get the pajamas to school thing either ... or the exposed boxer shorts on boys.

Ravenwood--I always picked my battles carefully, too! Happy to say, it seemed to work well--and even though they're now young adults , I still give my opinion--asked for or not :D

My mom was supposed to get a tattoo with me, but she chickened out and put in the piercing clause instead. You can also pierce erm, the boobsie twins. I assure you, it's a very VERY painful way to rebel. <_< Also, when you're at a mardi gras in college and you've been drinking and there are frat boys with video cameras...it's not such a great idea

They don't leave scars though!!!

It definitely depends on the family. I was a goody-goody too (well, until senior year anyway, even then I didn't drink) and the tradition in my family is that when a girl gets her first period, we celbrate with a glass of red wine. I was allowed to drink wine at family dinners and allowed the occasional beer. Never was a big drinker :)

My son wears exposed boxer shorts, but he's 8 and it's because we can find boxer shorts to fit him, but his pants are all too big and too short. We can't find pants small enough in the waist and long enough. He's been wearing boxers since he was 6. I think it's a bit weird. He's the only kid I know who wears boxers.

Totally different than these teenagers who want to look like that!!!! At least for your son, it's in fashion right now!!!

I haven't really worried about hair color having gluten in it, should I?????!!!!

I use a temporary color that rinses out a little at a time and have learned I have to be very careful of gluten in these products as well. I also have DH and colorings with gluten additives cause my hair to fall out. Loreal makes a lot of their haircolors gluten-free and I stick with them.

I have trouble with nausea. It often starts when I’m anxious about something (home repairs, sick dog) but continues long after the home is repaired or the dog is healthy again. When it happens I eat less and lose weight.  My gastroenterologist suggested ginger or peppermint tea. I don’t know if that will work or not because I haven't had the problem since she suggested it.

Hello  I'm not sure what to think . Seems no matter what I do I get sick. I had some yogurt with only 2 grams of sugar and is labeled gluten free ...the strawberry version seemed to really set me off My jaw is burning as well as my stomach and my feet.  Horrible pain..plus acid reflux and nausea... sensitivity to touch pain. ..yikes !! I don't know if it's from the lactose in the yogurt or if I'm getting an ulcer  This condition can make you question yourself quite a bit.  Then if you are not sure the anxiety comes 😞 Does any of these symptoms sound familiar to anyone? The neuropathy is quite intense.  What do you eat or drink after this happens  Open to suggestions  Thank you

Of course my son is on a 100% gluten free diet.  I wish his symptoms were not debilitating as there are right now.  He cannot work, even when a miniscule of cross contamination occurs.  It's not just GI distress, but intense fatigue, brain fog, depression, anxiety, insomnia, etc.  It's literally neurological inflammation.  Not to be taken lightly here.  We have sought out many other possible ways to cope during this window of time (8 months!!!!)  without success.   AN-PEP does not help and seems like studies on this are not well researched.  So, we are trying this out because research shows some promising results.  And, all participants showed no cravings afterwards, no signs of addiction.  The patch is different than the oral route such as smoking, vaping, gum, pouch, etc.

Have you tried AN-PEP enzymes, for example, GlutenX (who is a sponsor here)? A lot of research has shown that it can break down small amounts of gluten in the stomach, before it reaches the intestines. It might be a better approach than risking nicotine addiction, and the questionable research around this. I also hope that he’s trying to be 100% Gluten-Free.

Hi all  I was diagnosed Coeliac a few years ago and follow a gluten free diet. The list of foods that I can eat without a problem grows shorter on a weekly basis. [I also have diabetes and asthma also].  BUT the reason I am posting this is because I seem to struggle with nausea quite a lot, which is really quite debilitating, and I was wondering if others suffer from nausea, even if following a gluten free diet.
