Blood Tests Back

As some of you may remember I am one of the few people on the board that has tried and continues to eat oats from the gluten free oat company. I am not trying to encourage people to eat oats nor start a huge debate. I did say that I would let you know about my appt with the gi doc and test results.

My appt went great. I really do not have any health issues but reminded her that I started eating oats. I still sometimes struggle with the emotional side of the disease so we discussed that. The doc called today and my numbers are normal :) Plus my iron test looked great! I really thought I had been doing good just based on how I have been feeling compared to a year ago. I truly feel like I have my health and life back!

That is good news! Apparently, you are one of the celiacs who can tolerate non-contaminated oats. That is nice, it gives you so many more options.

Hez--I'm happy that your news was good! :D

I have to admit that I feel a bit relieved. Some validation for being on my strict gluten-free diet. I always worry about cc in my house with the kids and hubby. Looks like all of the precautions are paying off!

i'm so glad to know----we have the oats, too, but haven't eaten any in a while. i think i am going to blend some into flour for a change of pace with our baking.

BTW, we've done other articles on this topic that I wanted to share here (not to condone smoking!):

Hi everyone  This has been a crazy year so far... How many people actually get entire sensory overload from gluten or something similar ?  My jaw is going nuts ..and that nerve is affecting my upper back and so on ...  Bones even hurt.  Brain fog. Etc  I had eggs seemed fine.   Then my aid cooked a chicken stir fry in the microwave because my food order shorted a couple key items .   I was so hungry but I noticed light breading and some ingredients with SOY !!! Why are we suffering with soy ? This triggered a sensitivity to bananas and gluten-free yogurt it seems like it's a cycle that it goes on.  The tiniest amount of something gets me I'm guessing the tiny bit of breading that I took one tiny nibble of ...yikes ..im cringing from it .. Feels like my stomach is going to explode yet still very hungry 😔  How long does this last?! Thank you so much

This is an older article, but may be helpful.

I have had orthodontic work done. The 3M invisalign material was no problem. BUT my retainers are another matter. They seemed okay for a few months. Now, however, they cause a burning sensation on my tongue, gums and insides of my lips. The burning sensation is now spreading to my throat. I notice it when I breathe. This is annoying and interferes with my enjoyment of eating. I am visiting with my provider tomorrow. We'll see where this goes from here.

Exactly which blood tests were done? There are a few different ones and some docs don't do them all. Also, your results and reference ranges for each?
