I know that there have been quite a few posts about this place already, but I have to jump on the band wagon. I finally, finally went there yesterday. (saturday) I was in heaven. Those breadsticks.. I wanted to steal them out of the restaurant to take them home. And the pizza, was just fantastic. I was in the city with some friends so I didnt get to try any beer. Maybe next time.. but I along with everyone else, highly recommend this place to everyone!! :)

anyone eaten at the risotteria who is avoiding a couple foods besides gluten? I saw on their website they mentioned dairy free choices as well as gluten free (and sugar free and vegetarian dishes) so I'm assuming it can't be that hard to get soy-free and egg-free meals as well...

i have GOT to try this place

no doubt it's better than my standard lunch of a packet of tuna and an apple :o

if i order a pizza, can i take what i don't finish to go?

thanks

Yes you sure can Random. They put whatever you dont finish and want to take with you in a styrofoam carrier and into a bag. I hope you get there soon! You will love it

im not sure about that-- i have never tried but i dont know if they have the ingredients to make soy-free or egg-free food. You may want to give them a call or you can email from their website...definitely worth a shot!!

I went there this weekend and I just wanted to report two things.

Those amazing meatballs that come with the spaghetti on Tuesdays-only are now an everyday appetizer. They are not served with pasta but by themselves with marinara sauce. I ordered them and dunked the breadsticks in the sauce. Pretty amazing.

Remember a few months ago that someone of us were complaining (but not that hard!) that there was no salt in the food? Well now the pendulum has swung the other way and everything is super salty. Did one of us say something? If so, who did we talk to? We need to tell him/her to take it down a notch. I said something diplomatic to the waitress but I'm not sure it did anything.

Otherwise, well, my meal was a brilliant experience. Risotteria is Risotteria is Risotteria and I'll continue going even if I have to drink a gallon or two of water and take blood pressure medication!

There are other Celiac genes. HLA DQ 2 and HLA DQ 8 show up in people from Northern European descent.   People of Mediterranean descent have HLA DQ 7.  People of Asian descent have HLA DQ 9.   There's other Indigenous populations that have other HLA genes that code for Celiac disease.   Are you still having symptoms?   What do you include in your diet?  Are you vegetarian? Are you taking any prescription medication?  Omeprazole?  Metformin?   Do you have anemia?  Thyroid problems? Are you taking any vitamins or herbal supplements?

There are eight essential B vitamins.  They are all water soluble.  Any excess of B vitamins is easily excreted by the kidneys.   Thiamine is Vitamin B 1.  Thiamine is safe and nontoxic even in high doses.  Benfotiamine and TTFD are forms of Thiamine that the body can utilize very easily.   The form of Thiamine in the supplements you mentioned is Thiamine Mononitrate, a form that the body does not absorb well and does not utilize well.  Only about thirty percent of the amount on the label is actually absorbed in the small intestine.  Less than that can actually be used by the body.  Manufacturers add thiamine mononitrate to their products because it's cheap and shelf-stable.  Thiamine and other B vitamins break down when exposed to light and heat and over time.  Thiamine Mononitrate is a form that does not break down over time sitting on a shelf waiting for someone to buy them.  What makes Thiamine Mononitrate shelf stable makes it difficult for the body to turn into a useable form.  In fact, it takes more thiamine to turn it into a useable form.   Gastrointestinal Beriberi is a localized shortage of Thiamine in the gastrointestinal tract.  High carbohydrate meals can result in gastrointestinal symptoms of Gastric Beriberi.  Fiber is a type of carbohydrate.  So, high fiber/carbohydrate snacks could trigger Gastric Beriberi.   Since blood tests for Thiamine and other B vitamins are so inaccurate, the World Health Organization recommends trying Thiamine and looking for health improvement because it's safe and nontoxic.

Thanks very interesting I have to see if I should take these 2 vitamins along with my multi and super Vit B complex or if its too much or would hurt me. I don't have any other health issues but would love to see if this improves anything especially to feel stronger build muscle.
