Andrea, I hope you don't feel bad, then again, if you don't, how will you ever convince your mom a little is too much!!?? I'm going to my grandmothers on Tuesday, so I'm hoping all will go well. I told her not to be offended if we get there and I decide not to eat because of some contamination issue she didn't think of, that it's taken me a few months to learn how to take care of myself, that I can't teach her how to in a phone call. After our arrival, I'll be helping with the cooking, so all will be okay then.

She always makes meringue cookies for us, so I told her to get Enjoy Life choc chips or nuts so that I could eat some, too. She was very agreeable. And I warned her about no flour, no crumbs, no porous cookware, so hopefully all will be okay. I usually eat a couple dozen of those cookies myself!! :o:P

Gotta love those enjoy life cookies.....they are much too small. Very easy to eat too many. Sounds like we may have a Rachel problem too. :o:rolleyes:

Yes, my mom thinks we are being too picky. I've heard that numerous times over the years. My reaction is over within 24 hours normally and not that bad. I agree that she needs to understand that "a little" is too much for us.

No, not Enjoy Life cookies .... Grammie's homemade meringue cookies with Enjoy Life Chocolate Chips!!!!! I could never indulge in that many store bought cookies, I'm a cookie snob!!

You know I stopped over-indulging in single items once I got my weight up. I'd sit down and eat a whole bag of Ruffles ... now I'm down to a few chips at a time. I usually indulged in just one food, maybe that was my tummy's way of being easy on itself. Like "Don't eat ice cream and chips, only one or the other, please!!"

I used up all of my Enjoy Life chocolate chips and NO ONE carries them here. So, I email the gluten free store on this forum to see if they can send me a case or two of them frozen (remember I live where it is HOT). The lady was so nice, but she found out that they won't send any of the non frozen items in freezer boxes. I have to wait until this winter to order enough to last me a year. They are so good and taste just like the regular ones.

Who said the bird probably stinks? I took a bath this morning before I went to the grocery store. And I even fluffed my hair and put on my red lipstick.

You think humans are vain! We own four birds. They spend all day eating and primping!

Come on over to Rachelville 2 everyone.

I tried Retinol based cream once and got peeling skin with irritation.

It's too harsh for some skin types -

I've been letting nature take it's course as regards skin. The more I fuss with it, the more problems I create.

My husband and I stoped having Friday night dinner at my MIL and SIL's place for this reason (CC) and it was really due to carelessness and kind of blatant on SIL's part. Now when someone asks why we don't go there anymore I say that they aren't "kosher" . It got a few people confused when I jused that phrase in conjunction with Christmas dinner, but they caught on that I was talking about "CC" issues.

Well, here I am again, aging as gracefully as possible without losing my face. Do you goofy young'uns need instructions? I have a few secrets I'll be happy to share.

1. If there's a large mirror in your bathroom, never look into it when you're just stepping out of the shower! I haven't looked at my naked body in fifteen years.

2. Never look at yourself in the full-length mirrors in dressings rooms until you are fully clothed. Even then, do not look at your face under those flourescent lights.

3. Remember that all overhead lighting is your enemy. Remodel your bathroom to exclude overhead lights; instead install soft lighting on both sides of your mirror.

4. Put on your makeup in this soft light; go out and have a good time; and never look at your face in another mirror until you get home.

Do you get my drift here? Mirrors are not our friends. That's because we women see ourselves as we really are. :( Men, on the other hand, begin to lose all touch with reality after their 30th birthday. Somehow they become vision-impaired when gazing into mirrors. Do they see wrinkles, sagging pot bellies, multiple chins, shiny bald heads? No indeedy. They only see the bodies of the 18-year-old studs they used to be! And that explains why they believe the flattery of sweet young things looking for a sugar daddy. Men are hilarious!

5. Wear long sleeves. A few years ago one of my little grandsons was affectionately squeezing my well-covered upper arm, when he suddenly stopped and gasped, "Grandmama, are you OLD?" Thereafter I added:

5-B. Allow no upper arm squeezing. :o

Dinner time, so bye y'all! Talk to you later.

Cissie, you tore me up. I started on number one and lost it. How funny. Number five I have a hard time with. When it is 115 outside and I plan on being out for awhile, I HAVE to wear cap sleeves as it is just too hot. I just try and pretend that my upper arms (and lower arms) are when I was 20 - he he. I also try and keep them tucked into my sides while I am talking with someone. And since I am a talking ostrich, they never look beyond my beak.

Oh Lawzy now my head is truly spinning. Or spinaching...? Here I thought this thread was about meds of some sort! Who knew?

Cissie - - - so fantastic. Yes, I know about all those things.....and there are mirrors all over the place here. Maybe I"ll just throw black cloths over each, mourning the passing of.....my youth.

Ehrin - - thank you for your input! Kinda crazy here....what must you think of us.....

But POO, it is really not fair to be 44 and STILL break out AND have wrinkles at the same time (my wrinkles are actually not bad.....and two people were astonished yesterday that I was 44 - nearly shrieked. Guess that was good).

These days, girls, there are just good days and bad, appearance-wise.....fewer good days.....holy cow.....I do NOT LIKE AGING one single bit......need to join a gym again and become at least physically very strong again.....THAT part I CAN control!

CArla - how is your dizziness - - must be from that evil bite thing you have to use......

CECILE - - dingbat - - here I am, ever-so-briefly, where are you now...you will be so sad....when you see that I"ve been here - - and you were not....... :( BUT IT IS SUNDAY, my favorite day, and I am a busy little dingo-girl here....painting furniture in teh garage, and worked up a full sweat. Very hot here - what was I thinking.....and there is staring, lots and lots of staring from two restless dogs who want to play.....later, much later when it is cool we are going to do this illegal thing we do here - - - run like wild dogs through the 'hood, it's totally against the rules, no leashes - - we do it when it's dark and have never been caught....ha ha ha ha :P:P:P

well as you can see, darling Leah, it has devolved into lunacy......kind of scary, isn't it......

CarlaB Enthusiast
I am so sorry... how long will the dizziness last?... do you have any idea?

No idea ... I didn't know what it was from until I searched around on the internet and asked a few questions here. I hope not long!!!

Camille'sBigSister Newbie

Carla, Armetta, I'm always available to give helpful advice on True Life.

Cecile, you're as crazy as I am.

And is Dances with Rivers still in that garden? She will need coffee for her aches and pains tonight. Or . . . a nice box of frozen spinach?

Good night and pleasant dreams to all.

Cissie

Let's see, must address said instructions:

1. If there's a large mirror in your bathroom, never look into it when you're just stepping out of the shower! I haven't looked at my naked body in fifteen years.

Check ... once glanced back when I was stepping in and frightened myself and the dog after I screamed.

2. Never look at yourself in the full-length mirrors in dressings rooms until you are fully clothed. Even then, do not look at your face under those flourescent lights.

Check.... those rooms are pure evil

3. Remember that all overhead lighting is your enemy. Remodel your bathroom to exclude overhead lights; instead install soft lighting on both sides of your mirror.

Check.... this again is why I am angry at Thomas Edison... we should have stayed with candles.

4. Put on your makeup in this soft light; go out and have a good time; and never look at your face in another mirror until you get home.

Check.... once glanced in a mirror at the mall not knowing I was looking at myself and was thinking... good googly moogly she needs some make-up.

Hi party bird!

When do we get to see a picture of you again?

Inquiring minds want to know.

Headache is getting better after musty, moldy fumes from an old photo album that Mitch cleared the pictures out of. He promptly got rid of the old album and pages so it wouldn't stink up the house. :P

The list is on the new Rachelville 2 thread......I know how much you love to read those.

AndreaB Contributor
Are you saying you don't like this picture of me? I was trying to pose very pretty for the camera.. :D ..it's a bit hard to smile with a beak tho...

We (Mitch and I) would prefer to think of you as better looking than a bird, eventhough it is a cute picture. From Mitch: Only Dr. Doolittle can talk to birds.:P

AndreaB Contributor

How 'bout a puppy picture. Lassie to the rescue! I love Lassie.

Celia--

I like the bird--it grew on me :D

After all, we're twins--I might have an identity crisis :o

Tell Mitch he is wrong!! My bird says, "Cmere, step-up" when he wants out of his cage! He woke up one morning and said, "Hi Baby, howya doin, I love you, cmere!" I nearly fell over laughing!! Today at lunch, Adam yelled, "Hey" then the bird yelled back, "Hey, what?"

Birds definately talk!!

So I've been dealing with chasing the name celiac because of my body actively dealing with health issues related to celiac though not eating. Diagnosed in 1994 before foods eliminated from diet. After 25 years with former pcp I googled celiac specialist and she wasn't because of what ive been through. I wanted my results to be sent to my pcp but nothing was sent.I have email copies.I did one zoom call with np with team member from celiac specialist in Nov 2025 and she asked me why I wanted to know why I wanted the celiac diagnosis so bad, I sad I don't, its my life and I need revalidaion because its affecting me.KB stated well it shows you are.I asked then why am I going through all this.I was labeled unruly. Its been a celiac circus and medical has caused anxiety and depression no fault to my own other than being born with bad genetics. How is it legal for medical professionals to gaslight patients that are with an ailment coming for help to be downplayed? KB put in my records that she personally spent 120min with me and I think the zoom call was discussing celiac 80 min ONE ZOOM call.SHE is responsible for not explaining to my pcp about celiac disease am I right?

I've noticed with my age and menopause my smell for bread gives me severe migraines and I know this. Its alarming that there are all these fabulous bakeries, sandwich places pizza places popping up in confined areas.Just the other day I suffered a migraine after I got done with my mri when a guy with a brown paper bag walk in front of me and I smelled that fresh dough bread with tuna, I got a migraine when we got home.I hate im that sensitive. Its alarming these places are popping up in airports as well.I just saw on the news that the airport ( can't remember which  one)was going to have a fabulous smelling bakery. Not for sensitive celiacs, this can alter their health during their travel which isn't safe. More awareness really NEEDS to be promoted, so much more than just a food consumption!FYI I did write to Stanislaus to let them know my thoughts on the medical field not knowing much about celiac and how it affects one.I also did message my gi the 3 specialist names that was given on previous post on questions on celiac. I pray its not on deaf door.
