Swollen Achy Arm

I have had this problem on a number of occasions for about the past two years and yet again tonight it has happened again. I sometimes get it in my leg but usually in my arm. I get a dull ache starting from my neck....it hurts most where my shoulder is and goes all the way down my arm. It feels like it is swollen up. It usually gets warm but hasn't so far tonight. When it's in my leg the pain is consintrated in my knee and and shins. Does anyone know what causes this or what I can do to get rid of it?

Is the pain on just one side of the body or is it right knee, left shoulder?

Possibly soy.

I had pain from my knee to my ankle frequently. Don't know if it was the gluten or soy or both.

Tonight it is in my left arm and right knee.....but they don't always hurt at the same time.

Could be a muscular problem. I used to get that kind of pain in my right arm, with swelling in my shoulder. It turned out to be spasming muscles pulling my cervical spine out of line, which caused the nerves to get pinched. You really should see your doctor, as there can be many causes for this, and treatment could be as easy as stretches. Your doctor can do tests and tell you what to try first.

Nightshades can cause some people pain. It is a wonderful time of year for garden fresh vegies, have you been eating tomatoes, potatoes, eggplant, spicy food made with peppers?

I had chlili and cheese sandwiches last night before the pain started....It had chili powder but no actual peppers of any kind. I hate tomatoes and eggplant.....ewww. I do eat allot of potatoes though. Thinking back I don't see remember eating potatoes before this starts. Interesting thought though...thanks.

I can trace every single "mysterious" catastrophic painful episode in the past and present to the nightshades and turn the pain off and on like a switch. It takes two months to get them out of my system.

I had no idea that it could take two months to get them out of your system. Thanks, I learned something. :)

I have the same thing. Pain from outside knee (just below knee cap) to ankle, mostly on my right side. I don't know what causes it.

But it sure is a pain... Somes it get bad to the point where I can't drive. Like plantime says, it may be the back or spine, or perhaps nerve damage. Maybe others will know more... Hope they do and post.

Congrats! Can you share the recipe? We just picked up a bread maker from an estate sale and are experimenting.
