Lynne, I agree with Beverly - BULL ****!!

Jen, I love your photo. Lynne told me how young you are. I could not believe that so much wisdom comes from someone your age. I had been picturing you in your mid to late 30's. And here you are a very beautiful young woman, inside and out.

Okay, guys, GUESS who took the picture that is Jen's new avatar????? YOURS TRULY!!!!!! Isn't she GORGEOUS? What a beautiful girl. And she just radiates goodness. She is such a GREAT person!

Jen,

Beautiful photo of you. Lynne, great shot.

I posted earlier (I thought). Must have moved onto something else before it went through.

You guys spoil me--you're too sweet !!! My mom doesn't know it, but she takes full responsibility for the delay in Lynne's new avatar :) She is e-mailing the pics to me tonight!

tiredofdoctors Enthusiast

We're not too sweet -- we just tell it like it is, Jen!!! Besides, you deserve to be spoiled. (especially after those chocolate cupcakes . . . . yummmmmmm!)

No, the picture in Lynne's avatar is Mouse, and the picture in Mouse's avatar is Mouse -- she just looks more like an ostrich in one picture than in the other.

Yeah, she told me later on that she was kind-of mad you didn't even *try* to snuggle with her. Gosh Lynne ! :o

Thank you Carla for explaining. At least YOU AGREE that I do look like that Ostrich. And what would make everyone smile if I took him away. He sure makes me smile.

Lynne, enough stalling - where is your photo.

I didn't necesarily say I agree, I'm staying out of that one! ... but the thing is, I love birds! We have four of them, so even if I did say there was a resemblance, it would be a compliment.

But I do think Lynne is stalling long enough.

tiredofdoctors Enthusiast

I am NOT stalling . . . . Jen has not e-mailed the picture to me . . . . CUT ME SOME SLACK :lol::lol::lol:B)

I never know what to call women either, women, gals, girls???? Which is correct? How can Chris know if there are women who don't even know?

Well, since we *are* women, I think we can call ourselves whatever we like ! However, that rule doesn't apply to the "guys!" :) I like to use all of them, depending on the situation :)

NOW--I sent Lynne the pic this morning--so its out of my hands! :lol::P

DingoGirl Enthusiast

Well I guess I am not enlightened either.....I call women gals also :huh: And girls, women, whatever comes to mind!

BTW you ALL are so darn cute, whoever's picture is in your avatar! :)

tiredofdoctors Enthusiast

I was just bustin' Chris' chops! Had to give him some grief over SOMETHING -- the guy is freaking amazing!! :P

Jen e-mailed the picture of us . . . as you can tell, I DON'T like having my picture taken, but I WILL place it in my avatar . . . . TEMPORARILY. The other girl in the picture is Brooke, my son's girlfriend . . . . . . Both she and Jen's pictures are good. Mine looks pretty bad . . . . .

Okay, the file is too big, so I'm going to have to go in and re-size it . . . . . I'm NOT good at it, so it may take some time . . . again CUT ME SOME SLACK!!!!!!!!! :lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::angry::lol::lol::lol:

It's done . . . . are you happy now??????? :lol::lol::P:P:P:P

AndreaB Contributor

Hey Lynne,

Yes, we are happier now. It's good to see you front and center instead of half cut off on the side. :D

2Boys4Me Enthusiast

I'm confused :huh: . I see three lovely ladies. I thought I would see some kind of hideous Quasimodo kind of thing the way you were talking. :P

      I was diagnosed with coeliac disease a couple of years ago [ish]. I love my food and a variety of food, so it's been hard, as it is with everyone. I try and ensure everything I eat doesn't contain gluten, but occasionally I think something must have got through that has gluten in. Mainly I know because I have to dash to the loo, but recently I have noticed that I feel nauseous after possibly being glutened. I think the thing that I have got better at is knowing what to do when I feel wiped out after a gluten 'episode'. I drink loads of water, and have just started drinking peppermint tea. I also have rehydration powders to drink. I don't feel like eating much, but eventually feel like I need to eat. Gluten free flapjacks, or gluten free cereal, or a small gluten free kids meal are my go to. I am retired, so luckily I can rest, sometimes even going to bed when nothing else works. So I feel that I am getting better at knowing how to try and get back on track. I am also trying to stick to a simpler menu and eat mostly at home so that I can be more confident about what I am eating. THANKS TO THOSE WHO REPLIED ABOUT THE NAUSEA .

      Thanks. Since the back and forth and promises of review and general stalling went on for more than six months, the credit company will no longer investigate. They have a cutoff of maybe six months.

      Is this the same restaurant? https://www.facebook.com/TheHappyTartFallsChurch/ Is it too late to take this up with your credit card company? Normally you have a few months to do a chargeback with them. It seems very odd that they are taking this approach with someone who is likely to be a regular customer--not a good business-minded way of handling things!

      Many people with celiac disease, especially those who are in the 0-2 year range of their recovery, have additional food intolerance issues which could be temporary. To figure this out you may need to keep a food diary and do an elimination diet over a few months. Some common food intolerance issues are dairy/casein, eggs, corn, oats, and soy. The good news is that after your gut heals (for most people who are 100% gluten-free this will take several months to two years) you may be able to slowly add some these items back into your diet after the damaged villi heal. This article may be helpful: The most common nutrient deficiencies associated with celiac disease that may lead to testing for the condition include iron, vitamin D, folate (vitamin B9), vitamin B12, calcium, zinc, and magnesium.  Unfortunately many doctors, including my own doctor at the time, don't do extensive follow up testing for a broad range of nutrient deficiencies, nor recommend that those just diagnosed with celiac disease take a broad spectrum vitamin/mineral supplement, which would greatly benefit most, if not all, newly diagnosed celiacs. Because of this it took me decades to overcome a few long-standing issues I had that were associated with gluten ataxia, for example numbness and tingling in my feet, and muscle knots--especially in my shoulders an neck. Only long term extensive supplementation has helped me to resolve these issues.
