Oh Susie- Is she OK? Poor sweet Annie.....That would have made me upset too!

OK- back to booby jokes!

Since my mammies are OK, I do of course have a funny mammogram story. Richrad, hope you don't mind :P

I must say the women's waiting area for a mammogram is quite humorous. But inside I had a good laugh. So, their taking different "views" and something got in the way of one of the pics so the technician says, "See that white area? That looks JUST like an implant!" Susie- i thought of you. I said, "what?" She says, "Yes, that's just what an implant looks like"

So I get already to defend myself and I say, "Uhmm... to the best of my knowledge, I don't have implants". She said that something got in the way of the camera but it was in the exact shape of an implant. I said, "Oh good, because if I'd had implants, I'd definitely have asked for AT LEAST a cup size larger" :P

THE TASSEL TWIRLING WILL RESUME UNTIL MORALE IMPROVES!

PS Pot IS legal in California, isn't it?

Gluten-free of course!

DingoGirl Enthusiast

can I just say, before anything else, how disGUSted I am by that Burger King philly cheese steak burger commercial, with those pig men eating adn talking at the same time................blech!

LOL

We have an old family Bible and one of my ancestors saved Queen Victoria when her horses for her carriage took off. She knighted him. He then became very rich and owned about 1000 houses in London. He emigrated to the US and when he died, the lawyers took the money. Too bad, I'd have liked to own 1000 houses in London!!! ;)

:o I am so sad that you don't! those wicked attorneys....

PS Pot IS legal in California, isn't it?

:lol: not really, only if you get your "permit" for medical marijuana.....but lots of people seem to have that.....

So bev's okay, Annie's back home (with clean, shiny teeth! ) and so all is well. Let the celebratory tassel-twirling begin!!

And while we're on the subject:

Gluten-free of course!

Um, if I could just LOOK like her..............everyone would open my gluten-free beer FOR me. ;)

I'm glad Annie's ok and the two of you are together once again. I'm betting she'd feel differently if she went to the Open Original Shared Link.

I can't tell if kitty is really happy and jumping for joy, or is just trying really hard to get away...my money is on the latter...he looks pi55ed off at the end :o

FORUM JOKE

How many group posters does it take to change a light bulb?

*************************************************

1 to change the light bulb and to post that the light bulb has been changed

14 to share similar experiences of changing light bulbs and how the light bulb could have been changed differently

7 to caution about the dangers of changing light bulbs

27 to point out spelling/grammar errors in posts about changing light bulbs

53 to flame the spell checkers

41 to correct spelling/grammar flames

6 to argue over whether it's "lightbulb" or "light bulb" ...

another 6 to condemn those 6 as anal-retentive

2 industry professionals to inform the group that the proper term is "lamp"

15 know-it-alls who claim *they* were in the industry, and that "light bulb" is perfectly correct

156 to email the participant's ISPs complaining that they are in violation of their "acceptable use policy"

109 to post that this group is not about light bulbs and to please take this discussion to a lightbulb group

203 to demand that cross posting to hardware forum, off-topic forum, and lightbulb group about changing light bulbs be stopped

111 to defend the posting to this group saying that we all use light bulbs and therefore the posts *are* relevant to this group

306 to debate which method of changing light bulbs is superior, where to buy the best light bulbs, what brand of light bulbs work best for this technique and what brands are faulty

27 to post URL's where one can see examples of different light bulbs

14 to post that the URL's were posted incorrectly and then post the corrected URL's

3 to post about links they found from the URL's that are relevant to this group which makes light bulbs relevant to this group

33 to link all posts to date, quote them in their entirety including all headers and signatures, and add "Me too"

12 to post to the group that they will no longer post because they cannot handle the light bulb controversy

19 to quote the "Me too's" to say "Me three"

4 to suggest that posters request the light bulb FAQ

44 to ask what is a "FAQ"

4 to say "didn't we go through this already a short time ago?"

143 to say "do a Google search on light bulbs before posting questions about light bulbs"

Who knows, the family could have lost it all anyway during the depression! Plus, how hard would it be to keep track of 1000 houses!!?? Especially before computers. This story was from the obituary for this guy from the newspaper. All kinds of neat stuff in that Bible.

Maybe you have a low  intolerance to Wheat.   Rye, Barley and Malt are the gluten in Celiac disease.  It has always been stated Wheat and Gluten, not just a Wheat intolerance.  Barley will keep me in bed for (2) weeks.  Gut, Migrains, Brain fog, Diahrea.  It is miserable.  And when I was a toddler the doctor would give me a malt medicine because I always had Anemia and did not grow.  Boy was he off.  But at that time the US didn't know anyone about Celiac.  This was the 1940s and 50s.  I had my first episode at 9 months and did not get a diagnosis until I was 50.  My immune system was so shot before being diagnoised, so now I live with the consequences of it. I was so upset when Manufacturers didn't want to label their products so they added barley to the product.  It was mostly the cereal industry.  3 of my favorite cereals were excluded because of this. Malt gives me a bad Gut reaction.

Thanks much Scott.  Well said, and heeded.   I don't have Celiac, which is fortunate.

Do you have the results of your endoscopy? Did you do a celiac disease blood panel before that?  Here is more info about how to do a gluten challenge for a celiac disease blood panel, or for an endoscopy: and this recent study recommends 4-6 slices of wheat bread per day:

It is odd that your Tissue Transglutaminase (TTG) IgA level has bounced from the "inconclusive" range (7.9, 9.8) down to a negative level (5.3), only to climb back up near the positive threshold. This inconsistency, coupled with your ongoing symptoms of malabsorption and specific nutrient deficiencies, is a strong clinical indicator that warrants a more thorough investigation than a simple "satisfactory" sign-off. A negative blood test does not definitively rule out celiac disease, especially with such variable numbers and a classic symptomatic picture. You are absolutely right to seek a second opinion and push for a referral to a gastroenterologist. A biopsy remains the gold standard for a reason, and advocating for one is the most direct path to getting the answers you need to finally address the root cause of your suffering. Here is more info about how to do a gluten challenge for a celiac disease blood panel, or for an endoscopy: and this recent study recommends 4-6 slices of wheat bread per day:

There is a distinction between gluten itself and the other chemicals and processing methods involved in modern food production. Your experience in Italy and Greece, contrasted with your reactions in the U.S., provides powerful anecdotal evidence that the problem, for some people, may not be the wheat, but the additives like potassium bromate and the industrial processing it undergoes here. The point about bromines displacing iodine and disrupting thyroid function is a significant one, explaining a potential biological mechanism for why such additives could cause systemic health issues that mimic gluten sensitivity. It's both alarming and insightful to consider that the very "watchdog" agencies meant to protect us are allowing practices banned in many other developed countries. Seeking out European flour and your caution about the high-carb, potentially diabeticgenic nature of many gluten-free products are excellent practical takeaways from your research, but I just want to mention--if you have celiac disease you need to avoid all wheat, including all wheat and gluten in Europe.
