You gotta figure . . . on all my other posts on the other threads, people have got to be thinking . . . WTH is that in her avatar!

LMAO  what an av!

Ok enough silliness for one morning. Oops it's 1pm! It's amazingly going be under 100 in Phx today, so I gotta go shoot hoops!! Yayyy!!!!!!! :) :) :)

AHOY ME HEARTIES!!!!

This morning I started to make my smoothie that I eat every morning ... Wild Oats was out of vanilla whey powder, so I have chocolate ... I added a banana and frozen strawberries instead of my usual raspberries ... I put the hand blender in and apparently hit the start button too soon and chocolate smoothie went all over everything.

 Don't you just hate it when that happens?!

I decide to wash my terrycloth robe

This would not be a decision I'd take lightly (and definitely not when herxing!)

My dressing gown as we quaintly call them is thick towelling with a hood and takes bloomin' days to dry ..hours in the dryer.....still damp...Heinous chore <_<

NIKKEIGH!!!!!!!!!!!! You must come for an emergency hair consultation and intervention!!!!!!!!!!

SUSIE !!!! You know I'd be there if you weren't the OTHER SIDE OF MY MAP!!!!!!!!

Do you remember the beanie hat you had to buy when you dyed your hair & it went green???......time to find it again

...Yep, it's tout de suite. We anglophones often shorten it to "tout suite", but I don't think the French much like this.

The French don't seem to like anything much ......if you aren't French  (but wait  ......do the Canadian French have a sense of humoUr????....Sacre Bleu!!!!!!!!!)

BTW I say toute suite and sod the French

Hehe . . . . . . . .will today become "Talk Like A Pirate About Susie's Hair" Day? :D

Avast ye saucy wenches!!

Bev!! Mention a soy plank agin & ye 'll be kissin the gunner's daughter! Arrrrrrrr!!

:lol: You're really quite good at the 'pirate talk' Tom!!!!!!!

Begad we be needin' t'punish the blaggard responsible fer that bilge-sucking hair!

By gad we do...arrrrrrrrrrrrr

 invert the troll's hair the other way - I am sure you math geeks have a name for that triangular shape - and that would be more like it.

Isosoles??????? ha ha total guess - I am inumerate ......is that even a word ???

MUST find new stylist THIS MINUTE. The man who colored my hair......I am not kidding - he has become one of the most hated stylists in Fresno.:angry::angry:

You MUST promise NEVER to go back to this EVIL man!!!!!!!!!

Walking the plank is too kind for this swine who created the inverse orange triangle!!!!!!

Ok, must tend to poor coeliac child who either:

Has a bug or

Has been hideously glutened (when, where???? *sigh* ....who knows????...but he can't seem to get a clear run of even a week lately without this happening) .......... poor chap doesn't know what end to tend to first <_<

My coworker actually has an orange haired troll on her desk right now. I keep walking by it, and I am cracking up and yet no one can figure why....they must think I am crazy (which they would not be wrong about) :)

I thought I hit quote on Nikki's dressing robe comment ... mine is terrycloth, but it's lightweight, short, and has no hood. It actually washes up nicely. It's still in the 90's here (33 degrees C) ... Way too early in the year for the heavy robe!

Marge has an incredible head of blue hair that goes staight upwards for several feet. Like the Grand Poobah hats minus the horns. Now, you guys have tolerated my math ignorance, please bear with me for more ignorance: what's in a mojito?

CarlaB Enthusiast
91. Man, I hate math.

How did you get that? I thought it was the area of the base (36), times the height (6) divided by 3?

Nevermind, you can't do it that way. Are you helping someone with their homework???

tom Contributor

"Oh . .. . . My . . .. .. Gawwwwwwwd" is right! Where to start?

Why, w/ the math of course!

O = sum of n sqrd, for all n from 1 to L, where L=length of one side of the base.

Yup 91.

<and nosoyboy is left trying to figure out why the 108 & 72 happen to differ by 36, the original # in the word problem>

OwOwOw!! now MY brain hurrrrrrrts!! :o

So Scupper THAT mateys!!!

WTH??? STOP IT!!!!!!!!!!

 Once the math starts, it gains momentum (p=mv), and just gets harder to stop. The one to blame is the one who started it.

Spent almost 2.5hrs hangin w/ that new forum member, tvhealthfood. The TV is Tri-Valley and he owns a health food store.

Holy crap he knows a TON about health issues!! Spends a lot of time researching.

Plenty of fun talk, too. The time fuuh-Lew!

He has that thread soliciting questions. I wish I had a Q. Maybe I'll just snatch one from the omg thread, tho he's pretty skeptical about the *most* alternative topics.

In response to your questions regarding probiotics.  I have had Celiac for 40 years.  Stomach issues: digestion, IBS to chronic constipation, bloat after eating anything.  I was unable to eat a healthy variety of foods, tried probiotics supplements - some made me worse, others made no difference.  After reading about people with Crones, IBS, etc, who made their own probiotics I started making Milk Kefir: not water Kefir. There are 10 probiotics in milk KEFIR. After 3 weeks I was able to eat more, no gas, no IBS.  If you have a computer just ask for videos on making milk Kefir. I branched out and make my own Kombucha for even more probiotics. I do not make my yogurt because there are only about four probiotics in that. I started this when I was 82 and I still make my own Kefir and Kombucha. My stomach issues were fixed with the Milk Kefir alone. If you decide to try making it, make certain you order MILK GRAINS. The finished product tastes a bit like Buttermilk. I hope this helps in your journey to good health.

Help me out here. Lauren Dam gluten-free beer from Spain is listed as gluten free. Yet its made from Barley Malt. I thought barley and any form had gluten. Anybody have any more information about it?

Ferritin levels.  And see what your hemoglobin looks like too, that will tell you if you are anemic?  You can have 'low normal' levels that will not be flagged by blood tests.  I had 'low normal' levels, my lab reading was. c12, just over what was considered normal, but I had small benign lesion on my tongue, and sometimes a sore mouth, and a consultant maxillofacial ordered an iron infusion for me as he felt my levels were too low and if he  raised them to 40, it would help.   Because you are not feeling 100% it might be worth looking at your levels, then discussing with your doctor if they are low normal.  But I stress, don't supplement iron without your levels being monitored, too much is dangerous.

Hi Katht -  I sympathize with your struggles in following a gluten-free diet and lifestyle. I found out that I had Celiac Disease a few months before I turned 70. I just turned 89 and it has taken me almost 20 years to attain a fairly normal intestinal  function. I also lost a lot of weight, down to 100 lb. down from about 140 lb. What Trents wrote you was very true for me. I am still elimination foods from my diet. One person suggested you keep a food diary and that is a good idea but it is probably best just to do an elimination diet. There are several ne and maybe one for celiacs. I used one for a while and started with plain rice and zucchini and then added back other foods to see if I reacted or not. That helped a great deal but what I did not realise that it would only very small amounts of some foods to cause inflammation in my intestine. Within the last few years I have stopped eating any trace amounts of hot peppers, corn and soy(mostly in supplements) and nuts, (the corn in Tylenol was giving me stomach aches and the nuts were causing foot pains). Starting an elimination diet with white rice is better than brown rice that has some natural toxins. In addition it is very important to drink sufficient plain water. You can find out how much to drink for your height and weight online. I do have difficulty drinking 48 ounces of water but just recently have found an electrolyte supplement that helps me stay well hydrated, Adding the water and electrolytes may reduce muscle cramps and gag spams you wrote about. . Also buy some anti-gluten enzyme capsules to take with meals. I use GliadinX advertised here. These are a lot of things to do at one time as they reflect my 20 years of experience. I hope you do what you can manage to do over time. Good luck and take care.

Hello, I'm relatively new to this, so I'm hoping to get some advice. I went gluten-free for most of April and felt the best I've ever felt. I’ve been experiencing strange symptoms since last August, but they all disappeared when I eliminated gluten. However, to get accurate blood test results, I’m back on gluten for a month (all of May), and I’m honestly feeling miserable. I’ve been dealing with joint pain, bloating, diarrhea, and just overall discomfort. Does anyone have tips on how to manage these symptoms during this month? What has helped you with joint pain?
