1) Crowning of King Ptaum (apologies)

2) Mad, yet bad Chickenesque jokes

"How many here have ever dressed AS a chicken? "

I think I may have once ......but why???

Did you guys here the news? MC Hammer is suing the Chicken Butt Cooties. He said their song "Can't Pluck This" is copyright infringement. I think he's grasping at straws . . . just needs the money.

GAHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!! :lol::lol:

 um, is that a problem? I mean, are things not supposed to be like that?

Yeah, clothes everywhere ...breeding....evil.........

Tom, sometimes I wonder how many voices you got goin' up there in that head of yours.

*SNORT*!!!!!!!! :lol::lol::lol:

Two questions I need to ask :

Does the Yeti ever dress AS a chicken??? (Do they make costumes big enough???)

Why is Carla quoting herself?????????

OH Yes!!! That is actually the Yeti in Tom's av. Eggsellent costume, wouldn't you say? Notice how there is nothing really in the picture to give you a true sense of how big he really is? Its all relative position with the background to make him look as small as a chicken . . . that's how they did Lord of the Rings, you know.

Why is Carla quoting herself?????????

She really wanted an answer . . . dammit!:lol:

"U tell 'er" "no, u" "don't look at ME!" "I wasn't looking at u" "so? Who's gonna tell 'er" "where's uhhhhhh .. . ." "He's long- freakin-gone so""<BAWK!> "who forgot to shut the cage!!?" . . ... .. . ..

Can I get back to you on that? :)

As long as most of these voices are happy ones, Tom....

Okay, okay....I'll admit something, here. My heart has always been back in the beautifully written standards of the forties....and there's a little part of me that loves to revisit...DISCO....and

Love and Kisses' Thank God it's Fried Egg

I think I may have once ......but why???

...Been in a chicken suit...yes, me, too, and details are fuzzy. Why? Ah, well. Again, young and needed the money... :o

If the yeti dresses as a chicken while up in the Yukon with seventy huskies, I'm afraid they'll just see him as two huge drumsticks. I discourage this...

Now, Carla may be quoting one of Tom's many head-voices... Things have a way of just getting weirder and weirder....Even with us!!

Morning All,

still quite cold here and windy. Who volunteers to make breakfast? We should have some nice gluten-free pancakes?

I was afraid my Chickenman question got ignored! Did anyone listen to it? Of course, it's much funnier to listen to it with Adam .... he laughs and laughs!

I'll make breakfast, but you have to come here so I can make it in my new kitchen. :)

I would love to see your new kitchen!

So how many of us in Sillyville are waking to cold and snowy weather? I know the NorthEast and the Midwest are both getting storms.

Cold, but not snowy.

Sorry, soggy sillie :(:P

How are you getting along--everything ok?

Mild but damp here - bad hair frizz factor today (I would say a 9 out of 10) <_<

Which reminds me, Wet wet wet were a band in the eighties that had Open Original Shared Linkhit which drove me INSANE as it was all you ever heard on the radio...ARGH!!!! (Was it a hit in your part of the world?? )

Yep...it was a big hit here, and drove me, as well, out of my mind. Too bad...that lead singer has a great voice...and really nice to look at.. :)

So, we've had a record snowfall here. A total of about 45 cm in the last two days (18 inches or so). Gus is plowing through the drifts in our backyard, coming in with HUGE clumps of snow all over him--poodle hair and snow...UGH. I'll bet if you were running around out there with him, Nikki, there'd be big clumps in your hair, too! Must keep head out of snow....:lol:

Didn't hear that version, but this one:

Open Original Shared Link

I was gonna say that it's stopped raining, but it started again. At least it's normal rain.

I guess snow would be worse, since we're all hills.

I can't take that song seriously after watching the movie Love Actually with Billy Mac singing Open Original Shared Link instead of love is all around!

I need to acknowledge all the royal well-wishers.

Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you.

So funny, and yet somehow perfectly sensible HERE, that a cooking prep question ends up revealing how many sillies have worn a chicken suit!

Morning sillies,

Well, I have an interesting situation here...they are switching our house from septic to sewer today. I woke up with an iffy stomach--right on schedule because it always acts up when there's something going on or I have to be somewhere <_<

So, I took some pre-emptive Immodium and am hoping it's just the anxiety :P

Only you guys would understand what it means to have no working bathrooms at all!!!!!!! :o

OMG, Patti I completely know what you mean. One day, they shut the water off in our development for a few hours to do something....I was terrified and in my head making notes of what to do in case of an emergancy!

I just went out there under the guise of asking if I could still run laundry (clever--eh?)

He said it was fine for about the next two hours or so untill they actually do the conversion. I figure by then, the Immodium will have completely kicked in ;)

You can't fool us Patti . . . WE know you asked about laundry so that you could . . . yes, DO LAUNDRY.

But yay for the sewer, in the long run, you should have fewer troubles (after this first major headache).

I assume that you already know that genetic testing for celiac disease cannot be used to confirm a celiac diagnosis. About 40% of the general population has the genetic potential to develop celiac disease but only about 1% actually develop celiac disease. It can be used to rule out celiac disease with a high degree of confidence, however, in the case where the genetic testing is negative for the genes. Until and unless you are actually diagnosed with celiac disease I would not raise this as an issue with family. However, if you are diagnosed with celiac disease through blood antibody testing and/or endoscopy with positive biopsy I would suggest you encourage first degree relatives to also purse testing because there is a significant chance (somewhere betwee 10% and almost 50%, depending on which studies you reference) that they will also have or will develop active celiac disease. Often, there are symptoms are absent or very minor until damage to the small bowel lining or other body systems becomes significant so be prepared that they may blow you off. We call this "silent celiac disease".
    • trents
If you were off gluten for two months that would have been long enough to invalidate the celiac blood antibody testing. Many people make the same mistake. They experiment with the gluten free diet before seeking formal testing. Once you remove gluten from the diet the antibodies stop being produced and those that are already in circulation begin to be removed and often drop below detectable levels. To pursue valid testing for celiac disease you would need to resume gluten consumption equivalent to the amount found in 4-6 slices of wheat bread daily for at least two weeks, preferably longer. These are the most recent guidelines for the "gluten challenge". Without formal testing there is no way to distinguish between celiac disease and gluten sensitivity since their symptoms overlap. However, celiac disease is an autoimmune disorder that damages the small bowel lining, not true of gluten sensitivity. There is no test available for gluten sensitivity so celiac disease must first be ruled out. By the way, elevated liver enzymes was what led to my celiac diagnosis almost 25 years ago.
    • trents
Then it does not seem to me that a gluten-related disorder is at the heart of your problems, unless that is, you have refractory celiac disease. But you did not answer my question about how long you had been eating gluten free before you had the blood antibody test for celiac disease done.
