Well, Ottawa's on fire!

...Uh...not literally.....

The Ottawa Senators are playin' hard, throwing their weight around...time for my first phaerie visit, methinks....

Jack has to keep leaving the room, he gets so nervous. I've told him to think up another hypothetical life question for us all to ponder. Stay tuned......:lol:

halloooooooooooooo my sillies!!!!!!!!!

Kissey took today off, we knocked out a few chores and tasks at both his house and mine.

But, I am WIPED OUT....... is it the heat? Feel like I jsut want to lie down and sleeeeeeeeeeeep. Just......so......very.................tired and groggy. Tom is right - yesterday, it was in the 90's - 93, maybe? HEINOUS........today - - comfortably in the 70's and dropping.....VERY windy.....Susie is pleased.

Forgot EVERYthing I wanted to say except about the Ethiopian restaurant - they DO use wheat in their injera bread, but, I called ahead and they made the teff gluten-free for me (and it was DELISH!). The woman who owns this restaurant is a doctor, just the loveliest person, and - SHOCK - knew all about Celiac (how sad that that is shocking and NOT the norm) so......she was quite accommodating w/ my gluten-free bread. Can't believe I haven't been back there.

Dan in Real Life is a very cute movie and I am endorsing it. Kissey, it turns out, had seen it before and not realized it until it started but was more than happy to watch it again.

I MUST go and have a short rest........feel as though there's cotton in my head today....

-_- <-----------------

see you later!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

[correction - was ninety-SIX degrees yesterday - - HARRUMPH!!!!!!!!! ]

Sorry 'bout the game, Emily :(

Hi Susie :) 96--truly heinous B)

We had gorgeous 70's until yesterday....only 56 today but it's supposed to warm up by the end of the week.

I have an announcement.....I'm having my hair cut! I decided to go a bit shorter, and wear it curly again.

Oh, thank you, Jacko!

Okay, he's come up with a new Life Question to posit to us all...I'm chortling and snorting as I type this...

Right, then... ......

If you had to choose between these two situations (and we're talking lifelong), which would you choose?

From now on, would you rather have to:

Walk everywhere wearing shoes with little suction cups

OR

with metal cleats on the bottom?

:lol::lol:

That's a tough one.........

Think I may have to go to bed and sleep on that one.

"Adult woman in sect back at Texas ranch"

And I just caNNOT help but read it as "Adult Woman Insect . .. "

...And I LOVE the Sens....but they're done, I am certain. :( Although rumour has it that Alfie may be heading back out onto the ice tonight. YAY!!

Will need some absinthe again this evening, to sit through another 60 minutes of their playoff run.

Michael Caine can skate?

Does this require forsaking sports like hockey & bball??

And do the little suctions make EVERY #%$* step a complete struggle?

And, to clarify, I could decide to go barefoot, right?

(Just how unwelcome would one be in a house w/ the fanciest of hardwood floors if wearing metal cleats!!?)

Yep, Jack needs to answer these questions so that we can make an informed decision!!!!

What do the shoes look like on top?? Do they look like cleats or tennis shoes? Or do they come in a more stylish pump? . . . just being difficult, I don't wear heels. They wouldn't go with my chapstick . . . but some other silly might like a more stylish shoe . . . loafer? . . . sandal? . . . flipflop? . . .

tom Contributor

I'm going w/ the idea that any manner of footwear can be retrofitted w/ suction cups or cleats - regardless of how impractical cleating may be for certain styles.

Darn210 Enthusiast

Oh . . . and Tom's av has prompted me . . . ask him if we can have shoe phones . . . in which case, I would definitely go with the suction cups . . . less likely to produce head trama.

Morning, Sillies!

Ugh.

Senators lost. Down 3-0 in the series. Get the big hook......

Michael Caine can skate?

:lol::lol:

Now THIS is a terrifically phunny picture--one Michael Caine flying around the ice, padded up and throwing his weight around...

 Actually....perhaps this is a formidable idea for the Senators. They should have called Mr. Caine before the series began. Anybody with the ability to hold a stick could have likely helped that show.

Email it to me!!!!!!!

Will do! It is a wonderful read. If anyone else would like to read Michelle's journal that she wrote during the gruelling Quest, let me know and I can email it out as an attachment...

Okay, I have presented these queries to Jack this morning, and he has ruled that, first of all, in a real, official "you-must-choose-one-situation-or-die" set-up, you would only get the two choices--no clarifications or further explanation, making the choice even tougher. You'd have to assume some things, and take some chances.

Now, this time, Jack will give you more detail:

As can be garnered from what's been given, the bottoms of your footwear that you choose are to be on your feet ALL THE TIME, every time you put on footwear. Boots, sandals, runners. The suction cups or metal cleats are there (we must give him a bit of engineering latitude, here) ALWAYS. And yes, you can be in bare feet whenever you wish...but when you're sporting footwear, the adorned bottoms MUST be there. Or you die, apparently.

Oh . . . and Tom's av has prompted me . . . ask him if we can have shoe phones . . . in which case, I would definitely go with the suction cups . . . less likely to produce head trama.

Yes, when considering a shoe phone, I would lean towards the suction cups. You could stick it to the side of your face, and have both hands free. VERY convenient.....

:lol: OMG....I asked Jack if we would have the wall-climbing option with the suction cups, and he looked at me like this <_< and said, "Uh, no. Come on....you guys are just being silly...."

I think I'm leaning towards the cleats. Suction cups would make a noise that would drive me nuts after a while (although metal cleats would be right noisy, as well...)...and I'd have to tell the whole story apologetically to anyone who has beautiful hardwood floors. Actually, I would never be able to visit them...

Hmmmmmmmmmmmm.......

Morning Sillies!!!!

Boy do I have great news. I went to bed on my own last night! No sleeping pills!!!! And I slept the entire night through, to do this on a work night is a big step for me!!!

I have my "appointment" today that we talked about a few days ago, the IT appointment....anyway I am torn, I am not sure I would like doing it and it is not really a increase in pay of anything....I am thinking about passing. Any ideas or suggestions.

If you don't have a good gut feeling, I'd pass. If you suspect that it's a job you would not enjoy, I do think I'd turn it down. I guess it all depands on how well you are assessing your like/dislike of said position. During the interview you can find out exactly what the job will involve, and who you'll be with. Then you can go away and figure out how much you would wanna spend eight hours a day, five days a week, in this scenario. :)

You MUST find out how much time you can devote to us Sillies, and if it's considerably shortened, well, you have your answer.... <_<

Yep, I'm sure you can, that's true. Just anywhere you need to be in shoes/boots, ya gotta have yer suction cups/metal cleats in place. Or death.:lol:

I"ll speak to her....she's........not really that great a helper, as photo may indicate...... does a lot of sitting, staring, and then rolls onto her back quite a bit so I"ll think she's adorable and scratch her belly, actually hindering productivity. But she's awful darned cute......

SILLIES!!!!!! 'tis freezing today!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Susie is pleased. freezing and sunny. :)

OMG - by the way. I made those Brazilian dog biscuits cheese rolls the other day. absolutely horrendous. Flat, hard, air-less, tasteless bricks. However, I DID leave the batter in fridge overnight..... Kissey wondered if this was the problem, I"m sure it was.......right? Baking soda fell flat? I was in my sleeping coma and too tired to make them.

Will try again. Annie is enjoying her new treats.

Crap, someone tell me something REALLY DELICIOUS to make for dinner. I'm outta ideas.

could I create an add-on for my shoes that will allow me to dust or mop as I walk? Or do they have to be strictly suction cups?

Or a makeup brush so's I can fix up my face while on the phone?

Thats the thing, I am suspecting not much time for you guys at all. I would be risking alot if I kept jumping on here when I am working in IT where they will be monitoring the net usage.

To tell you the truth things here might get rocky but we are all going through it. Sometimes I take things too personally and thats why sometimes I have bad days at work. Other than that things are nutsy here with us having a new boss. I have a lot of flexability here so if I ever need to leave early or take days off it is not a problem.

Anyway, I sent an email and let them know I would not be coming to the interview, I dont believe I would be the right fit for the job. I have not heard back but the status of my message was opened and read....

:lol::lol:

Yeah, probably. Now ya got me thinkin'......

The suction cups would offer some resistance and therefore a good workout when walking or running somewhere. But do I want this?

The cleats would be a very efficient tool of defense if I were attacked. Do I really need this?

The sound of cleats would be better, for sure--in fact, If worn on a hard surface they likely could work as tap shoes. Might be inspired to do some Debbie Reynolds while out on errands....

It's quite amazing that I am treating this as a pressing decision to be made in my life.

With cleats, you can aerate your lawn every time you walk through.

With suction cups, better traction when there's a spill on aisle nine.

Yes!! Better traction, likely, on ice, as well. But perhaps not.....cleats may do better there. GAWD.....such unknowns......

Im so frustrated and still getting the run around trying to reprove my celiac disease which my past primary ignored for 25 years.I understand that theres a ray of medical that doctors are limited too but not listening and telling the patient ( me) that im not as sensitive as I think and NOT celiac!Correction Mr white coat its not what I think but for cause and affect and past test that are not sticking in my medical records.I get sick violently with foods consumed, not eating the foods will show Im fabulous. After many blood draws and going through doctors I have the HLA- DQ2 positive which I read in a study that Iran conducted that the severity in celiac is in that gene.Im glutenfree and dealing with related issues which core issue of celiac isn't addressed. My skin, right eye, left leg diagestive issues affected. I have high blood pressure because im in pain.Im waisting my time on trying to reprove that Im celiac which is not a disease I want, but unfortunately have. It  has taken over my life personally and professionally. How do I stop getting medically gaslight and get the help needed to bounce back if I ever do bounce back to normal? I thought I was in good care with " celiac specialist " but in her eyes Im good.Im NOT.Sibo positive, IBS, Chronic Fatigue just to name a few and its all related to what I like to call a ghost disease ( celiac) since doctors don't seem to take it seriously.

@Martha Mitchell, your reaction to the lens implant with gluten sounds like it could be an allergic reaction rather than a celiac reaction. It is possible for a celiac to be also allergic to gluten as it is a protein component in wheat, barley and rye.

Scott I also have different symptoms than most people. It affects me bad. Stomach ache, headache, nauseous, heart racing, whole body shaking, can't walk then my throat starts to close. It attacks my nervous system. The only thing that saves me is a 1/2 of Xanax...it calms down my nervous system

Scott Adams. I was dealing with a DR that didn't care about me being celiac. I repeatedly told him that I was celiac and is everything gluten-free. He put an acrylic lens from j&j. I called the company to ask about gluten and was told yes that the acrylic they use has gluten....then they back tracked immediately and stopped talking to me. The Dr didn't care that I was having issues. It took me 6 months and a lot of sickness to get it removed.... which can only happen within 6 months. The Dr that took it out said that it was fused and that's why I lost vision. If they would have removed it right away everything would be fine. He put in a silicone one that was gluten-free and I've had no issues at all in the other eye. Do not do acrylic!
