Donna, WHAT????????? Loaded w/ nuggets, you say? OMG............my desk/house stays "loaded w/ nuggets" for about........half a day.

All chocolate was consumed yesterday during daylight hours. There was non left for early morning binge.

Elsie is really limping. Having trouble with the stairs at times, and very stiff upon rising from her bed. She goes for her checkup tomorrow, but I just do not feel good about this.....

No, we think she is a Korat. She doesn't have the double coat of a Russian Blue. We don't know for sure since she was rescued.

In that picture, she is. For the first while we had her on a tie-out until we were sure she would not go over the top. She was still a kitten (the pictures I shared are three years old).

Pseriously. Horrible day.........a day when you wish you had something like.......LSD? to take yerself away from yerself. Or......maybe someone would conk you in yer noggin and you could.....pass out er sumfin.

And then - OMG - A job as a proofreader has come up. Full time, that is the only heinosity of it.

Now, I have only two inarguable skills. One is for language/reading/spelling/proofing - I have an eagle-eye for mistakes and nothing - I mean NOTHING - gets by me. True story. My only other innate skill is coloUr identification. Taht's right. So - I could work in a paint store (yawn) or, be a proofreader and feel confident of my skills and not PHREAK OUT w/ the usual panic that I don't know what in hell I'm doing (welcome to most of my employed life - heartbreaking ).

So, this job comes up - they do not come along often - and I have spoken w/ the gal at the personnel agency. Lovely conversation but I now have knots in my tummy. Oh, wait, I had those before. So........the job's full time, 8 to 5, and that makes me feel sick........but I could DO the job, and make a decent income, which means a new car and actually not being completely destitute. oh, and having an actual ANSWER when the dreaded "what do you do" question comes up. And less time on my hands to squander (less silly time, of course ) and.........a great boost to my self-esteem. That is important to me. And feeling like I'm not just here taking up space on the planet.......

Okay......but it also means.......arising at 6 a.m. and showing up somewhere at 8, tummy problems or no. Off hours involve cooking/food prep/meal planning, wardrobe planning, and cleaning, spending time w/ Weezee, who will go insane with grief, loneliness and misery with all my time away. oh and Kissey? Not as much time together and certainly no trips to Last Chance.....I can't risk the poison oak and the exhaustion. But, this is life, right?

So..........I'm sending in my resume and.........we'll see what happens. I am so sad to say that I just don't think I can ever work full-time again........I mean I possibly could, but it might ruin my already paltry life.....which actually isn't so bad, I just don't have any money.

Labs, goldens, german shepherds, and the giant breeds....not unheard of in standards, but certainly uncommon. Dunno, the symptoms just seem to fit. However, I didn't notice them at all until she'd been here a couple of days. I think that whatever it is (osteoarthritis, dysplasia, etc.) has been brought on or aggravated by exercise. I walk and run faithfully every day, as does DH. Elsie has accompanied us I think daily since we've had her, and has absolutely revelled in it. I've never seen such a happy dog. However, it may have taken its toll, especially since we are now figuring that she NEVER got exercised at her old home. Worse, she probably spent a lot more time than we were originally led to believe inside her crate. So, all this activity, including the long romps in our backyard with Gus, may be a big shock to her system. I'm just not sure......

Susie! Don't fret about this job situation...or lack thereof. Things ALWAYS work out. Sometimes in phunny, phunny ways...but they do. I feel good about what's gonna unfold for you. Really!

I remember when I first got Weezee.......she'd never been to the beach/mountains/in a house/in a bed, anywhere. She ran with such joyful abandon on the beach......I can just picture how happy Elsie must be wtih this...... Hope to God she's okay.
