Must be something wrong with me that I don't generally notice thumbs, tho!:lol:

I HAVE heard that there is a correlation regarding the size of hands and feet. I assume it's about the same sort of thing.

You mean you haven't seen PeOter's thumb?

I guess you weren't here when the Ripper, with his book of medical facts, informed us that a man's thumb his half the size of his...........hey!......why is there no cute nickname for that, like Josie or va-jay-jay?

I know!!!! That's what we can use 'Hans' for! :D

Taaawwwmm's eye?.....hmmmmmm.......how can we not notice.....am a bit suspicious of why we can only see the one........what is he trying to hide?:lol:

Here is the list that I copied down while we were visiting DH's old Aunt Peg in the English countryside two summers ago. She found it imperative to give me every euphemism for PENIS that she had ever heard, or made up:

Horn o' Plenty

Flying Scotsman

Horizontal Henry

Naughty Nureyev

Tower of Babel

Jolly Roger

Indian rope trick

Piddle-me-ree

The Little Gentleman

:lol::lol:

Quite a lady, Aunt Peg. . . . . . ...

Hmm. I probably don't know dick about what you ladies are discussing. I once used a calculator made by Wang. I posted a picture of my tool some time back--remember? I don't just want to post thoughts here willy-nilly, but our bird feeder is mounted on top of a pole on the deck. I don't know if I can keep this up, but there might be more if I poke around. I pheel a bit like a little boy here.:blink::lol:

Stick around.

Perhaps I should've rephrased my question to...Why don't we have a cute nickname for penis.

We have Sven and Edna........nice couple, although they can be annoying at times...........and Josie and....?.......

'Horn O Plenty'?

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!

D'you know the chinese call it the jade stem? Jade is the 'Stone of Heaven'. Somewhat egotistical, I always thought. But HornOPlenty definitely wins that contest!! HEeeheee!!!

We just call them 'him' and 'her'. There's always mini-Hans. Or Mr Thumb. How bout gumby? I always thought he was rather phallic. Or Washington Monument! There's a double entendre for ya.

Oh, Lisa, I just pulled my av because my bf decided he didn't like the idea of my face all over the board with the crazy people who've been popping up lately. (not you guys, the scary ones.)

Leeezah! We are supposed to get the wind when you're done with it! It's not here yet. I went outside 15 minutes ago, noticing a nice, warm breeze, and thinking the rain's gotta be a wayz away yet becoz there is lots of clear skie. Heck, suddenly it's pouring out there! I expect your wind will be here shortly.

Shutting down for the night....high wind coming directly from Kansas. Wonder if I'll hear Dorathy and Toto on their way through :P

Hang on tight, Tuh-re-suh!.....It's a doozie! :o

Hey.......where's Jan-knit? ............Gian-nit!!!!!!...........she might be heading your way, Reesee!

All right, I twisted me ankle yesterday. It was already compromised from running, but this really did it in... . .. . . ice and heat. .. ....I will head onto the elliptical trainer for the next couple of workouts. NEED GREAT NEW MUSIC for me mp3!! With a fast, pounding dance beat. Anyone got suggestions?

This, unfortunately, is just too slow:

Morning all . . . walked the yard this morning to see if we had any damage and picked up a few items and returned them to their rightful places. Freaky winds last night . . . kept me up/woke me up often.

Last night I realized it was Valentine's Day Parties at the Preschool . . . and I forgot that I should probably give each of the kiddos a valentine. Dropped Smackl off at Tae Kwon Do and took Skeeter wif me in search of valentines . . . Wow - not much to pick from this late in the day. First store only had Hanna Montana and High School Musical stuff. I didn't think the 2 & 3 year olds would go for it. Second store I found some puppies and kittehs - much better.

Ended up taking the kids out for Ice Cream at Maggie Moo's . . . Skeeter had a rough day at the orthodontist and he gave her a gift cert that expired in 2 months so we had to use it the same day  :wackl:  She's still sore this morning and only wanted soft foods in her lunch.

All right . . . off to work . . . continue wif your penile talk . . . sorry I don't have anything to contribute, I'll try harder when I get home.

Wow---Sillies I am so surprised my house didn't land in OZ overnight- those winds are bad! My poor brick house was even shaking! Our power was flickering. My wind chimes fell down after I spent almost an hour untangling them the other day so I could hang them. My lady bug sandbox blew off the porch. The trash cans stayed put.

So now it is work time! Yea

Good news I am only here for 1/2 a day- I need to be home so the Comcast guy can go and turn the phone service on.

Still very windy here! High wind warnings for us until tomorrow morning (?). Several times last night I thought freight trains were blowing by! Good news is no Celiac Psillies have blown in from out of town...bad news, I saw a couple of tractor trailors jacknifed and off the highway this morning! Scary! I had to pass a few trailors because they were going so slow...and swaying back and forth. Not my idea of a good time!

Hmmmmm let's see...I don't know very many niknames...but as I think about it some come to mind....Stiffie....Woody....Johnson (who the heck ever came up wif that?)...hairless mouse....monkey....I'll bet most males have their own personal pet name.....<smirkface>....dong, schlong....(guess I know more than I thought I did!)...rod...harry....dick and the boys....

Maybe we need to do a survey all of the males here......and ...what do you call yours? :P

The pet names for veejay reminded me of my youngest sister when we were little. Every once in a while coming home in the car, mom would take us around the block (this block being about 5 miles, as we lived in the sticks), because there was a series of hills that my mom called "thank you mums". I guess it was like a rollercoaster for us. This is back in the day before seatbelts, and we often rode standing in the seats.....My little sister (probably 3 or 4) would giggle and tell mom it tickled her China! She was such a cutie.....still is for that matter. :)

Hello, @asaT, I'm curious to know whether you are taking other B vitamins like Thiamine B1 and Niacin B3.  Malabsorption in Celiac disease affects all the water soluble B vitamins and Vitamin C.  Thiamine and Niacin are required to produce energy for all the homocysteine lowering reactions provided by Folate, Cobalamine and Pyridoxine.   Weight gain with a voracious appetite is something I experienced while malnourished.  It's symptomatic of Thiamine B1 deficiency.   Conversely, some people with thiamine deficiency lose their appetite altogether, and suffer from anorexia.  At different periods on my lifelong journey, I suffered this, too.   When the body doesn't have sufficient thiamine to turn food, especially carbohydrates, into energy (for growth and repair), the body rations what little thiamine it has available, and turns the carbs into fat, and stores it mostly in the abdomen.  Consuming a high carbohydrate diet requires additional thiamine to process the carbs into energy.  Simple carbohydrates (sugar, white rice, etc.) don't contain thiamine, so the body easily depletes its stores of Thiamine processing the carbs into fat.  The digestive system communicates with the brain to keep eating in order to consume more thiamine and other nutrients it's not absorbing.   One can have a subclinical thiamine insufficiency for years.  A twenty percent increase in dietary thiamine causes an eighty percent increase in brain function, so the symptoms can wax and wane mysteriously.  Symptoms of Thiamine insufficiency include stunted growth, chronic fatigue, and Gastrointestinal Beriberi (diarrhea, abdominal pain), heart attack, Alzheimer's, stroke, and cancer.   Thiamine improves bone turnover.  Thiamine insufficiency can also affect the thyroid.  The thyroid is important in bone metabolism.  The thyroid also influences hormones, like estrogen and progesterone, and menopause.  Vitamin D, at optimal levels, can act as a hormone and can influence the thyroid, as well as being important to bone health, and regulating the immune system.  Vitamin A is important to bone health, too, and is necessary for intestinal health, as well.   I don't do dairy because I react to Casein, the protein in dairy that resembles gluten and causes a reaction the same as if I'd been exposed to gluten, including high tTg IgA.  I found adding mineral water containing calcium and other minerals helpful in increasing my calcium intake.   Malabsorption of Celiac affects all the vitamins and minerals.  I do hope you'll talk to your doctor and dietician about supplementing all eight B vitamins and the four fat soluble vitamins because they all work together interconnectedly.

Hi Jane: You may want to try the D3 I now take. I have reactions to fillers and many additives. Sports Research, it is based in the USA and I have had no bad reactions with this brand. The D3 does have coconut oil but it is non GMO, it is Gluten free, Soy free, Soybean free and Safflower oil free.  I have a cupboard full of supplements that did not agree with me -  I just keep trying and have finally settled on Sports Research. I take NAKA Women's Multi full spectrum, and have not felt sick after taking 2 capsules per day -  it is a Canadian company. I buy both from Amazon. I wish you well in your searching, I know how discouraging it all is. Florence.

highly unlikely  NOTHING and I mean NOTHING else has ever caused me these kinds of symptoms I have no problem with dates, they are a large part of my diet In fact, I eat a very high fiber, very high vegetable and bean diet and have for many years now. It's considered a whole foods plant based or plant forward diet (I do now eat some lean ground turkey but not much) I was off dairy for years but recently had to add back plain yogurt to meet calcium needs that I am not allowed to get from supplements (I have not had any problem with the yogurt)   I eat almost no processed foods. I don't eat out. almost everything I eat, I cook myself I am going to keep a food diary but to be honest, I already know that it's wheat products and also barley that are the problem, which is why I gradually stopped eating and buying them. When I was eating them, like back in early 2024, when I was in the middle of moving and ate out (always had bread or toast or rolls or a sub or pizza) I felt terrible but at that time was so busy and exhausted that I never stopped to think it was the food. Once I was in my new place, I continued to have bread from time to time and had such horrible joint pain that I was preparing for 2 total knee replacements as well as one hip! The surgery could not go forward as I was (and still am) actively losing calcium from my bones. That problem has yet to be properly diagnosed and treated   anyway over time I realized that I felt better when I stopped eating bread. Back at least 3 yrs ago I noticed that regular pasta made me sick so I switched to brown rice pasta and even though it costs a lot more, I really like it.   so gradually I just stopped buying and eating foods with gluten. I stopped getting raisin bran when I was constipated because it made me bloated and it didn't help the constipation any more (used to be a sure bet that it would in the past)   I made cookies and brownies using beans and rolled oats and dates and tahini and I LOVE them and have zero issues eating those I eat 1 or more cans of beans per day easily can eat a pound of broccoli - no problem! Brussels sprouts the same thing.   so yeh it's bread and related foods that are clearly the problem  there is zero doubt in my mind

Thank you for your post, @nanny marley It is interesting what you say about 'It's OK not to sleep'. Worrying about sleeping only makes it much harder to sleep.  One of my relatives is an insomniac and I am sure that is part of the problem.  Whereas I once had a neighbour who, if she couldn't sleep, would simply get up again, make a cup of tea, read, do a sudoku or some other small task, and then go back to bed when she felt sleepy again.  I can't think it did her any harm - she lived  well into her nineties. Last week I decided to try a Floradix Magnesium supplement which seems to be helping me to sleep better.  It is a liquid magnesium supplement, so easy to take.  It is gluten free (unlike the Floradix iron supplement).  Might be worth a try.

It could be a fructan intolerance? How do you do with dates?  https://www.dietvsdisease.org/sorry-your-gluten-sensitivity-is-actually-a-fructan-intolerance/
