YAWN!!

I am so tired. Got to bed at midnight...and here I am.....5 hours later.....swilling coffee and hoping for some sensibility from caffeine.

It was very fun. Bright colors. Music. Dancing.

My date ditched me halfway through so he could catch an earlier ferry, which was good, since we'd pretty much run out of things to say by the end of intermission.

When I got on the boat to come home I saw some bizarre chick in a huge feather boa and a tiara. As I walked passed I realized it was a friend of mine and her hubby that were coming back from a show. Much of the conversation consisted of telling each other how tired we were. :P

MORNIN PSILLIES!!!!!!!!!

What?.......Nobody else up, yet? :P

Just had to poop in and get me psillie fix.

Going back to Wednesday's conversation......

My Mom always called me Prissy.......or Lisa Dawn when I was in trouble, which was practically never

My brother was Monster........and when his hyperactivity was getting on her nerves, she'd say, "Why don't you go outside and chase cars?"

We're finding silly where we can, here. Many of Nathan's tests for tick-borne diseases won't have results in for 4-6 weeks, so they've put him on some meds for them now, just in case. The anti-fungul is giving him hallucinations.........quite entertaining.

We had Russian doll heads dancing around the room

A good friend of Nathan's flew down for a visit.......I don't think a serious sentence ever comes out of her mouth.......it's been good for all of us.

Carry on with the psillie, friends! I have been pooping in from time to time, and I don't want to see un-silly psillies <_< <_<

Good Morning, Leeeeesargh!

So great to hear somefin' from you! :):) You sound really good... . . .. ..I sit in awed admiration of you all. Nathan's hallucinations can offer some comic relief, as my dad's did when he was so ill. There were a couple that were somewhat arresting, like the two times he saw his mother at the end of his bed, once alone and once with his brother who died last winter....Nan was emphatically telling him to get the hell outta the bed and be better.

. . ..... .. dunno about that one. . . .. . :unsure::huh:

Sounds very much like something she would say. . . .. ..... :)

Anyways, that's what he did. . . ..

Oh!!! . . . Look who thinks she's queen!!!

So glad you pooped in Lisa!!! . . . Hope they get to the bottom of this quickly and get Nathan back to form quick . . . perhaps he needs a steriod?? . . . or a visit from Em's Nan??:P (But seriously . . . I'll keep prayin')

Where is everyone??

I'm running out of stories.....less'see

Date with other's hubby......check

Boa'd tiara lady......check

Rats.....check

Bats......check.....I think?

Did I tell you my roomies gone for three months? It's sooo nice to have my house to myself, although the cats clearly miss the added attention.

OK, I'll pose some questions for y'all. Not silly, but not serious either.

My friend's husband got laid off several months ago and still hasn't found a job. D'ta think I should/could ask if I can hire him to do stuff around my house? I got lots of stuff on my to-do list....

Question 2. I don't look as old as I am. Last week someone made a comment something like "I'm probably twice your age", when she's maybe 15-20 years older. I just laughed. What do you say in those situations; "No, I'm a lot older than you think I am"? "You don't look 90 to me"?

Hmm.... . . . . 'tis a great compliment. Unless she is simply a whole helluva lot older than she looks. . . .....then things'd be evening out. . .. ... ...

Why do superheroes all wear tights?

A good one. . . . ....just dunno...

As a complete non-sequitur, it's common to name your freezers in science, and ours are named after superheroes. Catwoman, Wonder Woman, etc. The double freezer is Batman and Robin, two entities, yet joined together. I forget why they didn't get named The Wonder Twins, but there was a discussion about it.

My freezer got named The Punisher....:unsure:

Robert?

@sleuth, Has your son been checked for nutritional deficiencies?  All of those symptoms can be caused by malnutrition.  I had severe malnutrition that went unrecognized by my doctors.  Intense fatigue, brain fog, depression, anxiety, and gastrointestinal distress are symptoms of deficiencies in the eight essential B vitamins, especially Thiamine B1, which becomes low first because the demand is higher when we're sick.     Celiac Disease causes inflammation and damage of the intestinal lining which inhibits absorption of essential nutrients.  Checking for nutritional deficiencies is part of proper follow up care for people with celiac disease.   Is your son taking any vitamin supplements?  Most supplements contain thiamine mononitrate which in not readily absorbed and utilized by the body.  Benfotiamine is a form of thiamine that is shown to promote intestinal healing.  Benfotiamine is available over the counter.  Benfotiamine is safe and nontoxic.   Is your son eating processed gluten-free foods?  Gluten-free processed foods are not required to be enriched with vitamins like their gluten containing counterparts.   Is your son following a low histamine diet?  Histamine is released as part of the immune response to gluten and other foods high in histamine.  High levels of histamine in the brain can cause anxiety, insomnia, and depression.  The body needs the B vitamins to make the enzyme Diamine Oxidase (DAO) to break down and clear histamine.  DAO supplements are available over the counter.  Vitamin C helps clear histamine as well.  Some people find over the counter antihistamines helpful as well, but they're not for long term use.   Nicotine has antihistamine-like properties, but can also irritate the gut.  Tobacco, from which nicotine is derived, is a nightshade (like tomatoes, potatoes, peppers and eggplant).  Nightshades contain alkaloids which affect gastrointestinal permeability, causing leaky gut syndrome.  Nicotine can cause gastrointestinal irritation and alter for the worse the microbiome. Safer alternatives to Nicotine that have antihistamine properties include Lemon Balm (Sweet Melissa),  Passion Flower, Chamomile, and Bilberry.  They can be taken as supplements, extracts, or tea.  These will help with the anxiety, insomnia and depression in a much safer way. Oolong tea is also helpful.  Oolong tea contains the amino acid L-Theanine which helps the digestive tract heal.  (L -Theanine supplements are available over the counter, if not a tea drinker.)  Tryptophan, a form of Niacin B3, also helps calm digestive symptoms.  Another amino acid, L-Lysine, can help with anxiety and depression.  I've used these for years without problems.   What ways to cope have you tried in the past?

In general if it is labelled gluten-free then it should be ok for most celiacs, however, those who are super sensitive (which is most who have dermatitis herpetiformis) may want to eat only certified gluten-free items, which are supposed to test down to 10ppm (but don't always!).
    • Wheatwacked
Have faith, you will survive. I get mine from Pipingrock.com.  500 capsules of 10,000 IU for $22.  That is almost two years worth for me.  250 caps 5000 IU for $6.69 if you only take 5,000 a day.  It's like half the price of Walmart.
    • Wheatwacked
Testing can't alone be trusted.  Else why would it take so many years of testing and retesting and misdiagnosis to finally be told, yes you have Celiac Disease. As to what to eat, I like pre 1950 style food.  Before the advent of TV dinners.  Fresh food is better for you, and cooking from scratch is cheaper.  Watch Rachel Ray's 30 Minute Meals for how to cook.  Keep in mind that she is not gluten free, but her techniques are awesome.  Just use something else instead of wheat, barley, rye. Dr Fuhrman is a ex cardiologist.  His book Eat to Live and Dr Davis' book Wheatbelly were instrumental in my survival.
