Hello All . . . I'm back from Illannoy. I've got lots to read and am debating on whether I will read it or not . . . then Susie mentions a Mrs Robinson/man-child topic and so I suppose I shall have to go back to investigate.

But first . . . must do laundry, go grocery shopping, install plant some of me own flowers, make some phone calls . . . would rather go back to bed.

Brian is coming home this Tues. He finally got a physical therapist in our network, and he said Brian needs to find a home and stay there for his

entire PT, which could last into Aug. So that's why he decided it was time to come home. He will be getting a temporary leg soon. He remains in good spirits.

Says his nick-name is 'Stumpy' .......lordy

Well, Smackl used to want to be called Zap . . . he thought it would make him sound "fast" or sumptin'. Hubby and I told him that you don't get to pick your own nicknames . . . someone gives them to you. We offered to call him Stinky but he didn't take us up on it.

Same goes wif Brian!!! He doesn't get to pick!! I'm sure we sillies can come up wif a good'en!!

How about

Stay cozy under a named blankie. Methinks this is the secret. . . . .. .. .

Gad, I was lookin' at me mailman this morning from a whole different perspective, I'm afraid. He would be, in my estimation, about 28 . . .. . . ....

 what ya looking at yer man child mailman for?????

OMG - I DID call my blankie a bobo - but all blankies were called bobos.

and then - my dad started calling his fan Bobo. All the men in my family (and me) slept with fans on, for white noise.....so it was a security blanket of sorts. (I would DIE without me bobo and - all sillies take note - in addition to the lavendar-spritzed sheets I NEED A BOBO fer sleep!!!!!!!!!)

Two things I've learned in the past day and a half:

chickens make a lot of poop.

Chickies want to stand on their water bowl to drink, so ya better have one that'll support the weight of a teen chicken and not tip over.

Nope - no man-child. that would be my beloved Derek, and I work with him, but NOTHING will ever happen there, poor lad. He DOES want a Mrs. Robinson relationship, though.

what I DID have was a ridiculously heinous date with a Man Boy. A difference.

Gianknit, glad yer back!!!! we missed you.

Mornin sillies--got nuttin.....pheelin kinda blah. No reason, maybe it's just "Monday".

Bunnie--how do you do your garlic mashed potatoes?

Just dropped 200$ at Tj's on groceries. No biggie, I don't go often so gotta stock up, but it was a HERCULEAN effort getting all that crap in here..... Whew......

Patee, when I'm being lazy I just put alot of garlicpowder in the taters once mashed. When feeling ambitious, I slow-saute a great deal of finely chopped garlic in a great deal of butter then mix that in. I go heavy on the milk n butter n pepper, bit light on the salt. Pan roasted garlic makes em sweet, too. Mmmmm.... Definitely doin that tonight!

Edited to say: Keep in mind, I make a LOT of potatos when i make mashed tatoes, BF is mad for them, so I wouldn't saute a GREAT deal of garlic for just two normal people....

Ah--slow saute-ing the garlic in butter. That sounds so good. I have tried putting a couple cloves of peeled garlic in the cooking water for the potatoes, and that's not bad, but not as flavorful as I'd like. I'm gonna try your way next time :D

Hi Judith!! So happy you got "the cake" Sounds like it went over big up there, too.

Okay, I'm heading out to the nearest Starbucks (unfortunately, not right around the corner like all the #*!#%!#@* Tim Horton's at every intersection, it would seem) to ask about availability in Canada . .. ....my mom is now eating gluten-free (her blood panel was "inconclusive".....uh huh. . .... <_< ), so it would be nice to be able to go out for an afternoon tea with her and have something like this.

The other day whilst I was doing laundry, Allo quietly crept up and tried to hop into the dryer. He doesn't do much stuff like that anymore.

Have faith, you will survive. I get mine from Pipingrock.com.  500 capsules of 10,000 IU for $22.  That is almost two years worth for me.  250 caps 5000 IU for $6.69 if you only take 5,000 a day.  It's like half the price of Walmart.

Testing can't alone be trusted.  Else why would it take so many years of testing and retesting and misdiagnosis to finally be told, yes you have Celiac Disease. As to what to eat, I like pre 1950 style food.  Before the advent of TV dinners.  Fresh food is better for you, and cooking from scratch is cheaper.  Watch Rachel Ray's 30 Minute Meals for how to cook.  Keep in mind that she is not gluten free, but her techniques are awesome.  Just use something else instead of wheat, barley, rye. Dr Fuhrman is a ex cardiologist.  His book Eat to Live and Dr Davis' book Wheatbelly were instrumental in my survival.

If you have DH you will likely also want to avoid iodine, which is common in seafoods and dairy products, as it can exacerbate symptoms in some people. This article may also be helpful as it offers various ways to relieve the itch--thanks for the tip about Dupixent, and I've added it to the article:

I just want to clarify that what I posted is a category of research summaries we've done over the years, and nearly each one shows that there is definitely a connection to celiac disease and migraine headaches. The latest study said: "the study did indicate some potential causal associations between celiac disease and migraine with or without aura, as well as between migraine without aura and ulcerative colitis...this study did not find evidence of a shared genetic basis..." Anyway, there is definitely a connection, and you can go through more of the articles here if you're interested: https://www.celiac.com/celiac-disease/celiac-disease-amp-related-diseases-and-disorders/migraine-headaches-and-celiac-disease/

Two months ago, I started taking Dupixent for dermatitis herpetiformis and it has completely cleared it up. I can't believe it! I have had a terrible painful, intensely itchy rash for over a year despite going fully gluten-free. See if your doctor will prescribe Dupixent. It can be expensive but I am getting it free. When the dermatitis herpetiformis was bad I could not do anything. I just lay in bed covered in ice packs to ease the pain/itching and using way too Clobetasol. Dapsone is also very good for dermatitis herpetiformis (and it is generic). It helped me and the results were immediate but it gave me severe anemia so the Dupixent is better for me. Not sure if it works for everyone. I cannot help with the cause of your stress but from experience I am sure the severe stress is making the celiac and dermatitis herpetiformis worse. Very difficult for you with having children to care for and you being so sick. Would this man be willing to see a family therapist with you? He may be angry at you or imagine that your illness is a psychosomatic excuse not to take care of him. A therapist might help even if he won't go with you. Also do you have any family that you could move in with (with the kids) for a short time to get away? A break may be good for you both.
