Hi Sillies- a very not so phunny time on our side.

John and I have started the journey through the reproductive endo clinic in hopes of getting pregnant. My dr there really believes that John's past medical history might be what is holding it up- so John gave some love in a cup and now we are waiting nervously for the results. I dont think we will hear till tomorrow...but its hard to wait. We have discussed what options he and I would seek if it is a problem but I am hoping it doesn't come to that. To make this even more emotional and crazy- I had some blood work drawn the other day and I went into the online med records system to check them (which is allowed for myself) and then I happen to see that my coworkers son was looking at my stuff and he would have no business in there. He works at one of our off-site drs offices but not an office I go to or one that any of my drs would be in contact with- so that is disturbing. Plus right now more than ever there is very personal stuff in there- stuff about me and John's private lives that even my coworkers do not know about. I am not even sure what to do about it since I work with the guys mother.....oh its terrible! I feel violated...and not in a good way!

John and I are doing good. John is getting over viral bronchitis.

things are work are ok- still have problems with my boss but that doesnt matter. I still have no respect for her. She is just a nasty woman..

I just came from a beginning of fall shopping spree. I went to Kohls cause I needed pants- and bought me some dockers which I love since they dont seem to shrink. then I got some cute tops and a new over the shoulder boudler holder. Spent 85 but then got to the register and got one of those scratch coupons and I got 15 off! So I spent 70 instead! Score!

Can someone help me get a cute thing in my sig--I think they look cute!

Amanduh! Superb av -- such pretty goils! :)B)

That is creepy, extremely unprofessional AND quite appalling, what your co-worker's son is up to. Can you get in touch with him? Challenge him on it? He needs to be addressed on this in no uncertain terms - - you can probably sue him for this kind of thing (I know in the States it is probably attempted all the time). . ... .. ..

My advice to you Paddeigh is ...... Be the curl, live as one

 Absolute words by which to live. . . . .....

A heated mattress pad you say?!?!?!

For now, I have the cats to do my pre warming <_<

I have DH's never-fail, like-clockwork nocturnal gas that does this job.. . . .. MUCH rather have me cats up there warming things up, but the smell keeps them away, I'm sure.. .....

Why in hell doesn't it keep ME away? Am I nuts?

Must go shopping tomorrow!..... for the brightest, most garish ensmble I can find!!!!!!

...... this month in the UK is 'breast cancer aware month'. My gym is having a charity day where you HAVE to wear something pink. (and you donate for the honoUr)

I'm thinking fluorescent pink tights (pantyhose) with leg warmers and shorts (it's ok!!..I'll have tights on!! :o )...maybe a pink tutu!!

I see you in something like this, Nik... . ....

I think Angus needs a phriend ( a wittle or big furry fuzzy canine friend) :D

Somehow I gain strength from the fact that someone, somewhere else in the world is having the same struggles as I ;)

Pseriously PadT, you don't get much more damp than England.... and I (beaten down by Decades of wrestling) decided to go with it.

My advice to you Paddeigh is ...... Be the curl, live as one

Gawd Nik--I also gain strengh knowing you understand :D I've been so tempted to have it done--but I hate to get on the straightening merry-go-round again. Thanks to you, I will stay strong and be one wif me curl. B) <grumble....>

Happy Sunday-

Hi Bevvie--how are classes going? :)

Hi Sillies- a very not so phunny time on our side.

Sorry fer all you're going through, Amanda. Hope you get good news from the doctor on the wee swimmers :) Good going at Kohl's, though! :D

What??? ...why??....what's going ON over there Leese?????????

But cheese IS good- no doubt about that!

Face is breaking out, funky feeling tongue....bleeding .....luckily no stomach issues.......I was doing fine at first. I guess it just builds up over time.

I'm hoping that keeping cheese will help me keep my weight from dropping.....never thought I'd be saying that ! :P

Hi Sillies- a very not so phunny time on our side.

I was just thinkin about you the other day and was gonna ask where you've been. When we don't hear from you in a while, I know sumthin's up.

Couldn't you report that guy? That is seriously unprofessional.....couldn't he lose his job for that? I don't care if he is somebody's son!

I'm back psillies!!!

Hi Jan-knit!!!! Where was it you went wif the goils?

My boss left about the same time you did with her girlfriends and I started wondering.......hmmmm.........

......but you didn't go to Florida, did you?

PSILLIES!!!!!

I was over the moon, today!

We went to a relative's 50th wedding anniversary today. I was not in the mood to call about the food....dealing with a caterer....blah, blah.....

....so I was going to make something for meself, but ran out of time.......so I grabbed some nuts and decided I would just make do.

When we got there, a little early, I decided it wouldn't hurt to ask.

Well.......one of the grown children that planned it is celiac! The chicken, potatoes, green beans, AND the cake were all gluten free!!! :D

Through a miscommunication, the pork wasn't........and she didn't eat salad, so no guarantees on the dressing.

I just HAD to try the cake :P .....starting sugar-free tomorrow

This was the first time a lot of these cousins, aunts and uncles of Brian's have seen him since the accident.

.........and we showed off on the dance floor :P

Oh....and I want a cute thing on my sig, too, but can't find anything I like. Where was it you said to go, Ruh-shell?

Spent the weekend at my mommy's house so hubby could prep for his interview this week. She has a hot tub, it was amazing! She also has a VitaMix in which I am completely in love! I smoothified everything I ate the entire weekend :P She asked if I would like to have one, I said for sure but no way in hell I'm paying that much for a flippin blender--she wrote me a check for $400!!!! She said to consider it an early Christmas present-WOOHOO!! Makes up for the fact that I woke up this morning and their cat had at some point during the night decided to sleep on my chest and I am now coughing and can't breathe out of my nose <_<

Hope everyone else had an amazing weekend!!

Wistfully wishing mine were BIG enough to hang to me waist

Don't feel bad Nik, I have to roll mine up to fit them into a bra. Went to Victoria's Secret a few years ago, after I was done nursing ds, and the gal was fitting me for a bra. She came into my dressing room and said "Oh My! What happened?" I've been going to Nordstroms since. THEY don't make fun of my flapjack boobsicles!

I'm thinking fluorescent pink tights (pantyhose) with leg warmers and shorts (it's ok!!..I'll have tights on!! :o )...maybe a pink tutu!!

Too much???

Um, NEVER too much and you MUST post a picture!!

Phlapjack boobs........yes, 'tis quite accurate, I fear... ... .. <_< Um, I've always wondered why nothing seems to happen to the male appendage in question as the aging process continues, at least nothing like what happens to a woman's boobs. Like our boobs, does it lengthen, flatten, shrink?

Don't believe so. Wot in hell?

Hopefully the biopsy gives a conclusive and correct diagnosis for your daughter. Im in the UK and have been in the situation a few years ago of trying to rule celiac in or out after inconclusive results. Many symptoms pointing to it including the classic symptoms and weight loss and folate and iron deficiency. You have to play a waiting game. I also had the label of IBS and likely food allergy. Genetic test showed low risk for celiac but not no risk. It sounds like the Gastroenterologist is on it and hopefully will diagnose what it is correctly. Food hypersensitivity (allergy) can also cause similar symptoms and inflammation as well as mimicking IBS. Milk / dairy and wheat (cereal grains) being the biggest culprits. The “oesophagitis” and “gastritis” you mentioned can be caused by another gastrointestinal disorder called “eosinophilic gastrointestinal disorders”. These are named depending on which part of the gastrointestinal tract is affected. For example eosinophilic oesophagitis, eosinophilic gastritis, eosinophilic gastroenteritis, and more rare eosinophilic colitis. They are antigen (allergen) driven. When the blood test measuring anti-ttg antibodies is positive in absence of a positive ema test - which is more specific to celiac, this can also suggest food hypersensitivity (allergy). Usually delayed type allergy similar to celiac but not autoimmune if that makes sense. In this case the ttg antibodies are transient. Which happens. I’ve first hand experience. For info, evidence of villous atrophy too can be caused by food hypersensitivity. Not just by celiac disease. In Egid disorders the six food elimination diet, under a dietitian and gastroenterologist care, is the dietary protocol to figure out the culprit or culprits. Sometimes only two food elimination diet is used at first. The number one culprit is milk protein / dairy. Followed by wheat, eggs, soy, fish and seafood, and nuts. Most are only reactive to one food group or two. Most are only reactive to milk. Hope this is a helpful reply.

      Yes gene HLADQ2 was positive
    • Wends
Wow, the system is crazy isn’t it? Maybe switch Doctors if you can. It’s surprising from what you’ve written it seems obvious it’s celiac disease. The “potential” diagnosis means celiac is developing and it basically just hasn’t done enough gut damage to be captured on the biopsy yet, and meet that “criteria” to satisfy the current system! Given the overwhelming evidence already - family history, positive ttg and ema. And your own experience and intuition which counts far more. And the labs being reproduced after gluten elimination and reintroduction- elimination and reintroduction diet is the gold standard too. Shame on the Doc and the system. What was the Marsh score? I’m guessing not 0 if it’s potential celiac. Meaning the autoimmune process has been triggered and started. Your daughter is obviously very healthy and her immune system is putting up a good fight. It can take years for the gut damage to build to a point where there’s overt symptoms and then a conclusive diagnosis, hence why many celiacs receive diagnosis later in life. You can prevent it. See the positive and the gift in that. Hopefully the gluten challenge confirms it, but if it doesn’t maybe get a second opinion?
    • cristiana
@Gigi2025  Thank you for your interesting post.  Some of what you say chimes with something my gastroenterologist tells me - that he has clients who travel to France and find the same as you  - they will eat normal wheat baguette there without issue, for example.  His theory was he thought it might be to do with the locally sourced wheat being different to our own in the UK? But I have to say my own experience has been quite different. I have been to France twice since my diagnosis, and have been quite ill due to what was then (pre-2019)  poor labelling and cross-contamination issues.  My TTG test following my last visit was elevated - 'proof of the pudding', as we say in the UK!  It was not just a case of eating something like, say, shellfish, that disagreed with me - gluten was clearly an issue. I've also been to Italy to visit family a couple of times since my diagnosis.  I did not want to take any chances so kept to my gluten free diet, but whilst there what I did notice is that coeliacs are very well catered for in Italy, and many brands with the same ingredients in the UK are clearly marked on the front of their packaging that they are 'senza glutine'.  In the UK, you would have to find that information in the small print - or it puts people off buying it, so I am told!  So it seems to me the Italians are very coeliac aware - in fact, all children are, I believe, screened for coeliac disease at the age of 6.  That must mean, I guess, that many Italian coeliacs are actively avoiding gluten because, presumably, if they don't, they will fall ill?
    • deanna1ynne
Thank you both very much. I’m pretty familiar with the various tests, and my older two girls with official dxs have even participated in research on other tests as well. I just felt overwhelmed and shocked that these recent results (which I found pretty dang conclusive after having scott clean labs just six months ago) would still be considered inconclusive. Doc said we could biopsy in another six weeks because my daughter was actually way more upset than I anticipated about the idea of eating it for years before doing another biopsy. It doesn’t hurt her, but she’s afraid of how it may be hurting her in ways she can’t feel. She’s currently eating mini wheats for breakfast, a sandwich with lunch, and a side of pasta along with every dinner, so I’m hoping we’re meeting that 10g benchmark mentioned in that second article!
