Our first gold medal EVER on home soil, on the sKi slopes. . . ....... a cute 22 year-old lad from Montreal, something of an underdog. 'Twas PHAB!

But Gnick, I truly miss Eddie the Eagle. He absolutely MADE the '88 Calgary Olympics for me and millions of other Canucks. He became an adopted national hero, and we all still talk about him.. . . ...!!

'tis our motto, our anthem, if I"ve ever heard it!!

<but then I read the following sentence about your beloved Gus and got instantly sad :( ......what a grand old boy he was!!!!>

Also sad about Georgian Olympic luger........ :( can only console myself with the fact that he died doing what he loved.......but will be SO WORRIED about lugers from now on......

and HEY!! I came on here tonight, whilst watching opening ceremonies, to say hidee-ho to our Canucks.....and no one's here!!! *crickets*

Am four or five pages behind.......just read a bit about our new GROUP job of sheep-herding - count me IN!!!!

Sills.....FINALLY some good news in my life.........got a new job.......fell into it, landed in my lap, though we'd been talking about it for weeks.........working for some lifelong friends........pinching myself as it seems like a dream......we go to dog park every aft (they have three dogs) and, Jane, the gourmet cook, feeds me gluten-free lunch every day.........

more details later........just wanted to check in before settling in bed wif my babies to watch the SHOW! I have missed only one opening ceremony in my ENTIRE LIFE (summer 2004, was in mountains)......gots the TV on next to me as I type......ceremonies have not started yet......

Love and miss you all.......will catch up tomorrow :)

I wonder if Jan-it is taking Skeet to the doctor this AM?

You betcha I did. I gots me pediatrician involved in the whole mess. Once again, I was told this is NOT the usual kind of reaction to a med . . . She thinks there is some sort of allergy going on, also, but doesn't have a guess as to what it is (and doesn't think it was necessarily the Reglan . . . but not ruling it out either). She's gonna run down the labs that were done and give me a call later. She has given me the name of a new pedGI which I will check out toot ssweet. She was surprised that the current GI prescribed the Reglan without doing the Gastric Emptying Study.

Good news on your with-it GI, Jyaghnutt.. . . ..you'll suss this out! :)

Wow Nik....6 weeks?

Hmmph. Such is often the way when you do not have to open your wallet for these procedures.. . ....<_<

My mom had an angiogram last fall.. . ... ..it took a couple of weeks, as I recall. Not bad, and free, but still -- heart diagnostics should be days, I think.

HEY! Question from The Ripper!:

Would you rather hit every red light for the rest of your life

OR

Have your eyes glued shut for three days?

Dear gawd. . . . .......HATE red lights .. ... . ..... ..I do enough waiting as it is.. . ...... . but being blind for three days would be most taxing. Would my family help, do all my work - - would I just stay in bed?? Dunno if I could stand it... . . .. . .but sitting at every single intersection until I cease to drive.. .. ... . .?

No brainer . . . glue me eyes shut for three days!!!! I'm assuming I won't have to actually do any driving on those three days

As annoying as it would be, I would have to go wif #1. I would be afraid to be blind, even fer 3 days.

YES! I think it would be most prudent to combine these two situations. ..... .. ....my eyes glued shut AND hitting every single red light at all intersections - - that way I would have constant pockets of time when I could be trying to orient myself, feel around for the pedals, buttons and shifts, pray. . .. . . .....

Y'know, my vision is already so poor that I operate quite blind without glasses anyway, so I'd DEFINITELY go for #2. I can literally cook blind, simple stuff anyway. Red lights forever and ever? No thanks!

Darn210 Enthusiast

Red lights forever and ever? No thanks!

I have to go through a bajillion stop lights before I get to the interstate!!! I'll sleep for the three days thank you very much!!

kareng Grand Master

I might take the stop lights. Its a chance to relax & listen to my music or quiet. Could, also: apply makeup, do hair or eat breakfast as you know every day that you will have the time.

BUT... 3 days not seeing the worn out tshirts, too short pants, too baggy pants with underwear showing, ratty hair in the face that the teens wear might be relaxing too.

Forgot: eyes shut while teaching the youngest to drive might be a good idea.

and now *I* have a question for all of YOU:

How many dogs do you know who have been thrown out of a moving car, sent hurtling onto the CURB, if you will, by an errant SHOP VAC??????????? While said Shop Vac was being transported to one's parents' house??????

Well, I am LITERALLY the world's most unfit parent. I am a walking Mr. Magoo, if you will.......total scatterbrain. Probably because I didn't have kids? Not really always looking out for Safety First.

Everybody IS okay.......she's literally licking her wounds.....if I hadn't seen the fall, it would be the funniest thing EVER, you could have videotaped it and sent it in and won money.......I mean, WHAT DOG gets hit by a Shop Vac and thrown from the car? (does anyone remember when she got hit by a rolling pumpkin on the way to my brother's for halloween, and LEAPED out at an intersection???)

alas, we were innocently driving to my parents'........returning their large Shop Vac......Weez was in back of Jeep (seat is always folded down, making the back flat).....looking out her rear side window, as always, as the dingos are wont to do.........I braked and turned right........Shop Vac went HURTLING forward and hit her - she FLEW out of the car and onto the curb :o

I SCREECHED on the brakes and got my baby :( she has two nicks in the top of paw, and cut her upper rear pad :(:(:(

I am a terrible person. :(

I am/was shaken beyond belief........stopped everything and went back home....cleaned the wounds........gave many thanks to GOD that nothing worse happened.......went back over to my mom's (believe you me, when Weez saw the shop back put BACK into the car, she was hesitant - but crap from said Shop Vac had spilled all over the back - had to vacuum it out - because Dodo, that's me, didn't empty it before taking it over)

Have learned some lessons.......about being more careful.......driving more carefully......NEVER having an object that can knock her out of car, and leaving window more closed........ALWAYS scrutinizing the house for dangers before I leave, and checking it again a second time........TOO many accidents have happened........and we have been LUCKY........but luck will run out!!! :(

going to bed.........and NOT going to billionaire's house tomorrow.........need a new crown, filling is crumbling (near front of mouth, is apparent) and going to cost about a thousand dollars

I have trouble with nausea. It often starts when I’m anxious about something (home repairs, sick dog) but continues long after the home is repaired or the dog is healthy again. When it happens I eat less and lose weight.  My gastroenterologist suggested ginger or peppermint tea. I don’t know if that will work or not because I haven't had the problem since she suggested it.
    • Colleen H
Hello  I'm not sure what to think . Seems no matter what I do I get sick. I had some yogurt with only 2 grams of sugar and is labeled gluten free ...the strawberry version seemed to really set me off My jaw is burning as well as my stomach and my feet.  Horrible pain..plus acid reflux and nausea... sensitivity to touch pain. ..yikes !! I don't know if it's from the lactose in the yogurt or if I'm getting an ulcer  This condition can make you question yourself quite a bit.  Then if you are not sure the anxiety comes 😞 Does any of these symptoms sound familiar to anyone? The neuropathy is quite intense.  What do you eat or drink after this happens  Open to suggestions  Thank you
    • sleuth
Of course my son is on a 100% gluten free diet.  I wish his symptoms were not debilitating as there are right now.  He cannot work, even when a miniscule of cross contamination occurs.  It's not just GI distress, but intense fatigue, brain fog, depression, anxiety, insomnia, etc.  It's literally neurological inflammation.  Not to be taken lightly here.  We have sought out many other possible ways to cope during this window of time (8 months!!!!)  without success.   AN-PEP does not help and seems like studies on this are not well researched.  So, we are trying this out because research shows some promising results.  And, all participants showed no cravings afterwards, no signs of addiction.  The patch is different than the oral route such as smoking, vaping, gum, pouch, etc.
    • Scott Adams
Have you tried AN-PEP enzymes, for example, GlutenX (who is a sponsor here)? A lot of research has shown that it can break down small amounts of gluten in the stomach, before it reaches the intestines. It might be a better approach than risking nicotine addiction, and the questionable research around this. I also hope that he’s trying to be 100% Gluten-Free.
    • Me,Sue
Hi all  I was diagnosed Coeliac a few years ago and follow a gluten free diet. The list of foods that I can eat without a problem grows shorter on a weekly basis. [I also have diabetes and asthma also].  BUT the reason I am posting this is because I seem to struggle with nausea quite a lot, which is really quite debilitating, and I was wondering if others suffer from nausea, even if following a gluten free diet.
