Is Ollie on the web site? I looked for him but didn't see him. You psillies are really making me want a kitteh!

jerseyangel Proficient

Jess, is there a pic of wee Ollie? What does he look like?

Jestgar Rising Star

He's not on the web. He's also Maine Coonish (with the most adorable chirp  )

He looks a bit like Open Original Shared Link, maybe a little darker.

Yum Yum looks a lot like my kitteh, only if s/he is a "dilute" tortoiseshell, MissEm is diluter :P

Had a lovely time!!

You's all are makin me sad, I can't have kitties... even when I try to take medication every day after a while I end up with such bad asthma I can't do anything. :( I love kitties.... But someday I'll have an apartment or house where I can have a dog, and I'll find me a rescue hair dog! I want a floppy one. With big floppy ears and big paws.

My Cooper has big floppy ears and large feet but fur not hair. I was determined to get a light colored one and a girl. Got another black boy dog. Eh! Didn't get him for me, got him so my then 12 year old would not be depressed. It worked and he's sweet.

I actually want a much bigger dog than that. Maybe a labradoodle? I have no idea, I will probably go around looking for a rescue pet when the time comes. I just know I want a big floppy hair dog!

Some Labradoodles are showing up in rescue around here. You'll get one when the time is right.

Well have a nice time tonight Bun. I used to get very tired at that time of the month too--something I do not miss at all :D

Me neither! Only......extremely tired anyway <_<

I think it's been worse since my multi-vitamin has been discontinued :(

Going to see about getting my vitamin levels checked this week. And I need to spend some time searching for a better replacement than what I am currently using.

Starting up salsa lessons again :D The Beginner salsa 2 class was cancelled halfway through....waited for the next one to come around.....nobody showed. So the instructor suggested I try the intermediate class.....he said he was certain I could handle it. Found out later it was intermediate 3! Challenging but fun :D

Jewelry class was filled, but another one should be starting soon :)

Good luck with the new realtor Patteigh!

Is Jan-knit visiting Bev-or-leigh?????

Jess is getting kitteh(s)!!!!

Sounds like you're having some fun. Post a pic of the jewelry when you make some. I wonder if we have those classes here? I might like that.

Hi Leesiugh! :D

The only vitamin I've tried that I can tolerate is the Everyday Multi by Kirkman Labs. I would rather not have to send away for them, but there wasn't much choice and I was wasting a lot of money on ones that I couldn't use.

I think Jan-it and Bevvy are hoping to meet up whilst Jan-it and her phamily are there. Hope so :)

Are you done wif school fer the summer? So happy to see you're planning on the jewelry class!!

curlyfries Contributor

Are you done wif school fer the summer?

Yup....been out for a couple of weeks.

I'll check your vitamins out. Mine had some pretty high doses of certain vitamins and was pretty cheap.....bought them at Wal-mart.

I saw on Phacebook that DS was interviewed on KTRE whilst picking blueberries at a blueberry festival. Did you see him Patteigh? B)

Well, my fat a$$ had a great time at the party yesterday and I just ate myself into oblivion! Why not add to the arse?! The cakes went over great, my mom cried when she saw hers. She said she couldn't remember the last time someone made her a cake :o It shall be my mission from now on to make sure she always has a beautiful cake for her birthday!

We cannae go out and enjoy this amazingly beautiful day because the kids were rolling down the grassy hills in my mom's backyard for hours yesterday and now poor Max's phace is all swollen and red and his eyes look like they've been bleeding! I gave him some Claritin, so we'll see how long it takes to work :(

Maybe: "Middle School Boys Locker Room"

That'd do it fer me!!

Yep

:lol::lol::lol:

That's what I thought <_<:P

'k janit. mebbe when you come back from vacation you cn borrow one a Ra-chel's fat a$$ outfits

Sure! Apparently I have quite the selection

Stopped at paws and filled out an application for Bilbo. He has a fungal infection so he's probably two weeks out, which is fine, and also met Oliver   . I told the lady that if Ollie is still around when Bilbo is ready, that they should put them together and see if they get along. If they do well (not just ignore each other) then I would consider them both.

Well of course you had to get 2--I really want one and I can't have one and I LURVE the name Ollie, so he must me the kitten-britches that I cannae have so he must live with you!! :D

Jewelry class was filled, but another one should be starting soon :)

I shall live vicariously thru you! I wanna take some classes like that!! Maybe when Max starts school....

Sniff! Sniff! I can't remember the last time anyone made a cake for me... Seriously, I think it was 1990.

My lovely FIL and wife are coming back into the country to "settle things" in thier house here. They expect we and other son who lives in town will come help them put a 7000 sq foot house's contents in storage and will take the things they don't want and be grateful for them. They have been out since Nov but left pantry items as well as most of the furniture, etc. I have decided to take whatever good stuff I can get and give it away. (Hub agrees). Not sure what FIL will think of this but if my family must help, we should be able to do what we want with the stuff he is getting rid of. My neighbor's mom has some of her students families she helps & will get me a wish list. Hopeing we get some good stuff!

Wouldn't mind so much but the only time he ever called us, even when living 3 mile away, was if he wanted a favor.

Thanks for letting me vent! Matt's back from camp & they had a day of silence. To help them not talk, they had a little stick you could put in your mouth (think dog with bone hanging out). Will be borrowing that this weekend.

@Jane02, I hear you about the kale and collard greens.  I don't do dairy and must eat green leafies, too, to get sufficient calcium.  I must be very careful because some calcium supplements are made from ground up crustacean shells.  When I was deficient in Vitamin D, I took high doses of Vitamin D to correct the deficiency quickly.  This is safe and nontoxic.  Vitamin D level should be above 70 nmol/L.  Lifeguards and indigenous Pacific Islanders typically have levels between 80-100 nmol/L.   Levels lower than this are based on amount needed to prevent disease like rickets and osteomalacia. We need more thiamine when we're physically ill, emotionally and mentally stressed, and if we exercise like an athlete or laborer.  We need more thiamine if we eat a diet high in simple carbohydrates.  For every 500 kcal of carbohydrates, we need 500-1000 mg more of thiamine to process the carbs into energy.  If there's insufficient thiamine the carbs get stored as fat.  Again, recommended levels set for thiamine are based on minimum amounts needed to prevent disease.  This is often not adequate for optimum health, nor sufficient for people with absorption problems such as Celiac disease.  Gluten free processed foods are not enriched with vitamins like their gluten containing counterparts.  Adding a B Complex and additional thiamine improves health for Celiacs.  Thiamine is safe and nontoxic even in high doses.  Thiamine helps the mitochondria in cells to function.  Thiamine interacts with each of the other B vitamins.  They are all water soluble and easily excreted if not needed. Thank you so much @knitty kitty for this insightful information! I would have never considered fractionated coconut oil to be a potential source of GI upset. I will consider all the info you shared. Very interesting about the Thiamine deficiency.  I've tracked daily averages of my intake in a nutrition software. The only nutrient I can't consistently meet from my diet is vitamin D. Calcium is a hit and miss as I rely on vegetables, dark leafy greens as a major source, for my calcium intake. I'm able to meet it when I either eat or juice a bundle of kale or collard greens daily haha. My thiamine intake is roughly 120% of my needs, although I do recognize that I may not be absorbing all of these nutrients consistently with intermittent unintentional exposures to gluten.  My vitamin A intake is roughly 900% (~6400 mcg/d) of my needs as I eat a lot of sweet potato, although since it's plant-derived vitamin A (beta-carotene) apparently it's not likely to cause toxicity.  Thanks again!

Hello, @Jane02,  I take Naturewise D 3.  It contains olive oil.   Some Vitamin D supplements, like D Drops, are made with fractionated coconut oil which can cause digestive upsets.  Fractionated coconut oil is not the same as coconut oil used for cooking.  Fractionated coconut oil has been treated for longer shelf life, so it won't go bad in the jar, and thus may be irritating to the digestive system. I avoid supplements made with soy because many people with Celiac Disease also react to soy.  Mixed tocopherols, an ingredient in Thornes Vitamin D, may be sourced from soy oil.  Kirkland's has soy on its ingredient list. I avoid things that might contain or be exposed to crustaceans, like Metagenics says on its label.  I have a crustacean/shellfish/fish allergy.  I like Life Extension Bioactive Complete B Complex.  I take additional Thiamine B 1 in the form Benfotiamine which helps the intestines heal, Life Extension MegaBenfotiamine. Thiamine is needed to activate Vitamin D.   Low thiamine can make one feel like they are getting glutened after a meal containing lots of simple carbohydrates like white rice, or processed gluten free foods like cookies and pasta.   It's rare to have a single vitamin deficiency.  The water soluble B Complex vitamins should be supplemented together with additional Thiamine in the form Benfotiamine and Thiamine TTFD (tetrahydrofurfuryl disulfide) to correct subclinical deficiencies that don't show up on blood tests.  These are subclinical deficiencies within organs and tissues.  Blood is a transportation system.  The body will deplete tissues and organs in order to keep a supply of thiamine in the bloodstream going to the brain and heart.   If you're low in Vitamin D, you may well be low in other fat soluble vitamins like Vitamin A and Vitamin K. Have you seen a dietician?

I do not know this, but since they are labelled gluten-free, and are not really a product that could easily be contaminated when making them (there would be not flour in the air of such a facility, for example), I don't really see contamination as something to be concerned about for this type of product.
