I saw on Phacebook that DS was interviewed on KTRE whilst picking blueberries at a blueberry festival. Did you see him Patteigh? B)

This sounds fantastic! Whot IS KTRE?? What was his interview about?

My lovely FIL and wife are coming back into the country to "settle things" in thier house here. some of her students families she helps & will get me a wish list. Hopeing we get some good stuff!

Gaaaahhh ..... ..Kherrighnne and I BOTH with in-laws coming ... . ...

To help them not talk, they had a little stick you could put in your mouth (think dog with bone hanging out). Will be borrowing that this weekend.

Now, this is something I haven't yet implemented considered -- Hmm.. . .next weekend, with my MIL. This could really help me get through the visit.... . . . . ....just a regular stick, huh?

Okay... . .things I do not want to be thinking about: What precisely is in those (gluten-free) sausages I am barbequing tonight; the funny noise that's coming from the refrigerator; the length of time that has passed since DH's winter hockey season ended and his equipment has been sitting in his bag.... . .

What else? Gah, that's enough... .. ..

At least mine will not be staying at my house.

Just a plain piece of smooth dowel rod. I suppose you could also use cookies, nuts, chips, wine but the stick was lower calories.

Sniff! Sniff! I can't remember the last time anyone made a cake for me... Seriously, I think it was 1990.

Can't remember far enough back. Surely SOMEBODY, maybe DD?, made me a cake once.......

.....or not :(

I would assume a TV station.

Probably just talkin about how he's enjoying the festival :P

Brings back memories of when I used to clean houses for a living. No appropriate emoticon for this

I used to clean for a father and son. The boy was a hockey player. One day, all of his gear was piled in the middle of the floor....

I don't think anyone's ever made me a cake, come to think of it.

What else did I want to say....oh--KTRE is a Nagadoches Tx TV station. Was Nathan at the Blueberry Festival?

I have a picture of myself cutting my 21st birthday cake - made by my mom  - last time anyone ever made me a cake. Come to think of it, no one buys me flowers, gives me chocolates or valentines, now what does that say about what a non-special person I am??? Well, my Probus club does give me a mini floral bouquet for my birfday, come to think of it :)

Oh, dear...if this is any measurement of how special a person one is, I am not even on the radar. ..... . Flowers? Canna remember the last time..... .... .chocolates and cake? Bah, I'm a diabetic celiac, and this is claimed to be the reason why I never get either of those. It actually is a compelling reason, so I remain fine with it all.

But do I actually believe that I would ever be showered with Lindt, Toblerone and chocolate cheesecakes if I weren't so afflicted?

A perfect time fer dis face.. . ... . . ...<_<

I know what I phorgot to remember....Mark called a little while ago. He was going back up the highway from our son's house this afternoon when a car that had just passed him skidded into the center median (it was raining), became airborne, flipped over and landed upside down.

Mark saw the whole thing--said it was surreal. He maneuvered around her and managed to avoid being hit from behind and got over to the right side of the road and parked the car. He ran over to the car that had flipped while calling 911 and saw the woman inside seemed to be unconscious. He tried to open the door but it was locked.

Meanwhile, others were stopping and coming over--the lady was coming to and Mark noticed smoke coming from under the hood of the car. Another guy got a golf club from his trunk and they broke the window of the car and they were able to help the woman get out.

By that time, the police got there and used a fire extinguisher to put out the fire. The woman was the only one hurt--she was of course taken off to the hospital.

Good for Mark. Glad he was not hurt and able to play hero. Some people freeze up when faced with an emergency.

Ahhhh, guys, I wish I could make cakes for all of yous for your birthdays! I actually prefer not to get flowers for any occasion. They shrivel up and die--does not evoke good memories for me  I love to see them in my garden though ;)

We got our garage cleaned out today, made a trip to goodwill and I detailed and washed my car. Now it's almost time to get the kiddos to bed so we can watch the season premier of True Blood!!!

The Claritin seemed to work. Withing a 1/2 hour he was running around like nothing ever happened!

Blech! I have a weird phobia of cups too. This surely would have sent me over the edge!

Geeze!! She was so lucky!!!

That happened to me once--actually each one of those things happened to me. I skidded on black ice, drove off an embankment and rolled my mom's van 3 1/2 times. In my case, everyone drove by me thinking someone else would stop but no one did  Luckily it was the days of cell phones with the cord :P The darned think managed to wrap completely around my leg! Everything else in the car ended up in the back of the van... No injuries. The only time I've been the 1st to the scene was a drunk driving head on crash. Damned drunk lived, but the lady in the other car was killed instantly. She was the Spanish translator at my high school. My first dead body :(

Athletic cups?

Really?

Huh

Sooooo...........how does that work exactly? Are you afraid to look at them? Will DS have to wash his own?

My DS usually does his own laundry anyway but will not let me do the various cups. He wants to be sure they don't twist up in a dryer. I believe the sturdiest one is mostly washed with a little Febreeze.

I know....wierd... When I was in high school I was dating a real loser (hindsight <_< ) and after his baseball practice one hot, sweaty summer day, he was like, "hey, can you take my cup off for me? hahaha...." I was like, "NO gross!" So the bastard took the thing off and shoved it in my face. I haven't been able to touch one since. DH washes his own! Not sure yet on DS ;)

Hey, then, forget the Lysol. .. .. ......I believe that you should therefore be putting oysters in his cup, and have them sit there for a while -- supposed to be THE virility-garnering foodstuff. . .. . ....

My mom comes out of rehab on Thursday, and back to her retirement home. This will be kind of a trial.... . . . . it is an awkward situation, because she is WAY too capable, mentally and physically, for a nursing home. But, she may need a bit more care than is offered at her residence. She'll be spending big $$$$ for extra add-on nursing duties like med dispensation and help while in the shower..... . . .the other things that she once did regularly like her groceries, getting herself to appointments, etc., will be done by me and my sister.

She is wondering who has died in the two months that she has been away from the residence, and if any single old men with a lot of money have moved in.

Actually, that isn't quite correct. She mentioned that it didn't necessarily matter if an old rich guy was married... . ...unhappily married would suffice. AND the big, new bonus: since she cannot see very well anymore, he could be hideous!

jerseyangel Proficient

Aw Em, all my best wishes to yer mom as she eases back into retirement home living. You're such a wonderful phamily and with all of your help, I know she's going to do fine :)

kareng Grand Master

Em! I think we are living parallel lives! My mom is going home from her nursing/rehab home this week, too. And in-laws coming. I know your mom will do better than mine. Mine just had a hip replaced but as she has an electric chair, I doubt she will walk more than a couple of steps once she is home. She only does the work when the PT makes her. The last 6 weeks have given my dad a nice vacation. Your mom has a much better attitude.

Going to go call to see if I can get my dining room furniture hauled to the thrift store before the weekend thus rendering it impossible to have people over for dinner. :)

Setting aside my wonder and awe for the afore mentioned cups (maybe my boys never played enough sport to warrant such a contraption??:lol: ) I am BOWLED over by the fact that your son can operate the washer!!!!!!!!!! :o

Then you would not believe the variety - soft ones, ones that are attached to the under shorts and the big mondo ones that you can wing a Lacrosse ball at from close range and feel nothing.

The trick is to train them early. He started helping at 4. Younger bro at about 1 1/2 cause he wanted to do what big bro did.

Hey! I knew how to operate the washer and dryer before I learned to cook! Not all guys are intimidated by household gadgets.....though I must confess I'm a big phan of the roomba. :D

Was the card itself lost or just the record or both?
    • Francis M
We were flabergasted that the owner would not acknowledge a $50 e-gift card I purchased for my celiac wife. My wife tried to open it in the store and was informed there had been a system change and they could not find the record. No worries, she was told, just talk to management. Six months later, and numerous absurd back and forths, and the owner literally informs me there have been "bad actors", so she can't make good on this lost gift card. In other words, she accused me of lying and committing fraud... over $50! Please be careful with your orders and purchases here.

Yes, some people do get withdrawal from gluten but gluten withdrawal doesn't usually cause gut pain. Maybe more like general body aches and discomfort. We have articles on gluten withdrawal on this forum. You might do a search for them. Applesauce is very acidic and some brands have added vitamin C (ascorbic acid) which makes them more acidic. This can damage the stomach lining if you eat it too often. Especially if your stomach lining is already compromised. Ibuprofen inhibits the body's ability to rebuild the stomach's protective mucosal lining. That's why it can cause peptic ulcers. As strange as it may sound, low level irritation/inflammation stimulates the body to rebuild the stomach lining. There are two steps in this rebuilding process known as COX 1 and COX 2. Ibuprofen represses both COX 1 and COX 2. Celecoxcib, a prescription anti inflammatory, inhibits only COX 2, making it less likely to cause damage to the gut lining.

Do you or anyone know alot about ibuprofen  I wasn't sure if I was eating too much apple sauce.   Something is making my pain so much worse  I'm referring to the intense pins and needles in my feet and lower legs.  Jaw actually has tardive dystonia and muscle spasms throughout my back Almost like an opposite effect that a pain reliever would do. I'm fairly new to this. Whatever is going on seems to be worsening  Do people get a withdrawal effect from gluten?  It's extremely painful 😖  I'll post that question or research on the site  Thank you everyone for responding
