But did you say yes on the first date?

We weren't even on a date! I laughed it off. The next morning his buddies were razzin him about it and he called me in a calm, yet underlying panic asking if he'd really proposed, like I had really taken him seriously  We ended up going and doing our laundry together :P We met on August 27, 1996 he proposed July 28, 1997 and we were married August 1, 1998 at the ripe old age of 20

My glass/ ceramic cooktop cracked. It's over the 5 year dubious warranty! My cleaning lady was doing what I do sometimes, pushing the edge of the cleaning pad under the edge to get crumbs. The replacement part is $990 plus about $150 to install. Or a complete new one is $1163 plus $60 install from Nebraska Furniture mart. Not sure how fast I can get it.

If it's not one thing it's $1000. :(

Oh Karaang, sad.gif

I'm so sorry. I'm assuming it's the electric glass top. I hate mine but it would still be a bummer to have to replace it. Is that the sort of item you could get on an amazon top site? It's time for you to have some good luck.

Sending positive energy your way.

Thanks, Lo! You are not supposed to use them, or at least the one with the crack over it. I'm trying to get one as quick as possible. They don't seem to make any downdrafts with regular burners anymore unless they have 2 burners and a grill.

OMG. . . . . Simply the idea of attempting these things, of vaulting up onto my hands and then crashing down onto my breasts or hip or back.. . . ..'twould be, perhaps, a hilarious thing to witness, but absolutely NOT hilarious to me. Now, HEADstands I can manage, but the top of me head quickly starts to pound as it is holding up all of my weight and, hey, let's face it, is the top of yer head meant to be supporting that kind of weight?? Hmmmm... . kinda dumb. . . ..... .

Gah. . . . . pardon me.. . .. .....getting old. .. . ..... <_<

Trick of the headstand I just learned so yer head doesn't hurt- put elbows and forearms on the floor making a triange with your thumbs and pointer fingers. Rest your head in this triangle but use your forearms to bear most of the weight. You'll have more balance too! :D

For the handstands, I make sure I'm close enough to a wall so that if I start to fall, I can catch my feet on the wall to push myself back before I fall flat on my back. It's a lot of core control-I've learned not to vault myself- but that is how I fell though :lol:

I used to do a mean headstand--years ago  Always against the wall, just in case. Could nae do the triangle of hands and elbows--I did palms on phloor, elbows bent.

Hi Everyone,  I do appreciate your replies to my original post.   Here is where I am now in this journey.  I am currently seeing a Naturopath.  One thing I did not post before is that I take Esomeprazole for GERD.  My Naturopath believes that the decrease in the gastric acid has allowed the yeast to grow.    She has put me on some digestive enzymes.  She also put me on Zinc, Selenium, B 12, as she felt that I was not absorbing my vitamins. I am about 5 weeks into this treatment, and I am feeling better. I did not have any trouble taking the Fluconazole.

Hi @JulieRe.  I just found your post.  It seems that I am also experiencing thrush, and my doctor believes that I have fungal overgrowth in my gut, which is most likely candida.  I'm seeing my GI doctor next week, so I'm hoping she can diagnose and confirm this and then give me an antifungal treatment.  In the meantime, I have been working with a functional medicine doctor, doing a candida cleanse and taking vitamins. It's already helping to make me feel better (with some ups and downs, of course), so I do think the yeast is definitely a problem for me on top of my celiac disease and I'm hoping my GI doctor can look into this a bit further.  So, how about you?  Did the candida come back, or is it still gone following your fluconazole treatment?  Also, was it awful to take fluconazole?  I understand that taking an antifungal can cause a reaction that sometimes makes people feel sick while they're taking it.  I hope you're doing better still !

I'm so sorry you're going through this—the "gluten challenge" is notoriously brutal, and it's awful to deliberately make yourself sick when you've already found the answer. For the joint pain, many people find that over-the-counter anti-inflammatories like ibuprofen can help take the edge off, and using heating pads or warm baths can provide some direct relief for the aches. For the digestive misery, stick to simple, easy-to-digest foods (like plain rice, bananas, and bone broth) and drink plenty of water and electrolytes to stay hydrated. It feels like the longest month ever, but you are doing the right thing to get a clear diagnosis, which can be crucial for your long-term health and getting the proper care. Hang in there; you can get through this! This article, and the comments below it, may be helpful:

Daura Damm (a sponsor here) uses AN-PEP enzymes and filtering in their brewing process to reduce/remove gluten, and it actually tests below 10ppm (I've see a document where they claim 5ppm).
