Oh-he has a rare disease called Keratoconus. His cornea was severely deformed and was declared legally blind at 16. He had his first cornea transplant at 23 and the 2nd 2 years later. He can actually fit contacts onto his eyes now, so he sees 20/20!

Must be why they choose to show up unannounced.

Going to a show tonight wif Bill. Have managed to not see him for five days in a row. Good for the sleep, bad for the distraction. How long do I have to be dating this man before seeing him only on the weekends is fine?

When he knows you want to see him regardless of what day of the week. Could be things much worse than a man who wants to be with you every day (unless that's smothering you). You deserve the attention BE gives you, time to bask in it my friend if that's what you want!!!

Hugs,

Hey y'all. What's shakin'?

Long time no see. No Eagle trip tomorrow, don't have the details as to why just yet . . . perhaps I should call Karen and see if she knows as she seems to be the coordinator of all things.

PF Changs . . . Changs Spicy Chicken and the Beef and Broccoli . . . yum . . . and the chocolate dome

So where have I been you ask??? . . . Anybody recall the lice incident of 2009? . . . hmmmm . . . they're baaaaaaack. GAH!!!!! Actually, it's not as bad this time. Twas Smackl and not Skeeter. Nurse called me and we started the whole delousification procedure. I found a total of 3 nits on his head. I really don't know why there were so few, but I'm thankful. I actually think it may have been an aborted invasion due to a hostile environment. That didn't stop the mountain of laundry or the bagging up of all things non-machine-washable. It's just minimized the amount of time I've had to spend nit-picking. The nurse was positive Skeeter must be infected also because (in her words) "boys never get lice unless it's from a family member" . . . Skeeter's been cleared of all charges. I asked the nurse if there were cases of lice in the school (I know she can't tell me who/which class) and she said "there's always cases of lice in the school". Doesn't that make you feel good?

Our neighbors kids had lice (all 7 of them) can you imagine what she had to do to get rid of them? Hope Smackl is better soon.

Hugs,

Loey

Well, if it keeps him away from other girls' lady bizness for a few extra years, my job is done :D

:lol::lol:

I stopped showering with Tony when he was 4. The other day I managed to undo that. He is back to normal with me today. Where we used to live we had a shower and jacuzzi near a bay window. We had the type of blinds that opened from the bottom up. One day I forgot to close them and the maintenance men were cleaning the windows. "lucy you got splanin to do..."

Loey

See the " Multi quote button". Click that for several that you want to reply to. It will have ( quote) Reply after the last ( quote) to that message. Then skip down to the next. I have had trouble with more than 3 quotes at a time.

Forgot to say, after choosing multi quote on several, hit the big friendly blue "Reply". Then type away.

OK, so we watched this REALLY bad movie last night. Tony kept putting it on the top of our Neflix Queue so we finally gave in (because he was NOT going to give up). It was so bad it was good. Clark spent all morning reading people's reviews of it. He was obsessed. So I thought I'd share the trailer with you psillies. I think it might be a future Rocky Horror Show (except that was a good movie).

Enjoy!

Loey

P.S. It is NOT the best movie of the year as the trailer claims but we laughed all the way through it. Now today we're going to see The Black Swan which I do expect to be one of the best movies of the year.

kareng Grand Master

That does look awful! We saw a bad movie last night. the American with George Clooney. His character was very cold, bland and unlikeable. The movie didn't make much sense. Never explained why the Swedes were after him. The ending didn't make a lot of sense either.

We just came back from seeing The Black Swan. I highly recommend it (as opposed to The Room). It had a few scenes that made you cringe but it was over 2 hours and you didn't notice how long it was. It was nice getting out of the house with my boys. Tony goes back to school next Saturday so this was the last chance for the 3 of us to go out. Clark bought him a nice birthday present. Tickets o see "The Fab Four." They're supposed to be a pretty good cover group. He bought an extra ticket for Tony to bring a friend so we finally might get a chance to meet his BF (and crush). It's her birthday when they get back to school (his is in a few weeks) so he bought her a bamboo plant (she's been wanting a plant) and is baking her a cake. biggrin.gif

Loey

P.S. Was The American in theaters or DVD? We'll avoid it.

The American is a DVD. It has a lot of this one girl's naked boobs, which are lovely but unneccesary. George shirtless doing pull- ups and push - ups a few times, but none of it enough to make the movie good.

Not sure we will see The Swan as I think it's about a girl going insane. Hub usually doesn't like those as his mother was mentally ill. H

Have you seen Red? It has Helen Mirren, Bruce Willis, Morgan Freedman as retired spies that have to come out of retirement. That was the movie I wanted but couldn't remember the name. The kids at the video store were too young to pay attention to thT movie.

DON'T go see The Black Swan if your DH doesn't like those type of pics. Don't want to say much more in case anyone else wants to see it. Don't want to be a spoiler. I've wanted to see Red. Glad you liked it.

T-3 until I see the new GI biggrin.gifbiggrin.gifbiggrin.gif

Feel like I also have a UTI but don't see the FP until Feb 3rd. Might need to pay the high cost of a walk in clinic. Will wait until after Thursday.

Today is tutoring day so I need to get downstairs.

BE is gonna do full-on gluten-free for a week to see if it helps him sleep better. After seeing his sad little face this morning when he realized he couldn't put croutons on his salad I offered to make him some. I'll use Peter's basic recipe, with added cheese (requested), but does anyone have opinions on which store bought bread would be the best to start with?

Well, Jyesssss.. . . . .. we all know that in order for BE to get a good night's sleep, he does not need to quit eating gluten. He needs to quit seeing YOU. :P:lol:

By the sounds of things, eliminating gluten will be considerably easier for him... . . . ....

Get tested for vitamin deficiencies.  Though neuropathy can be a symptom of celiac, it can also be caused by deficiencies due to poor digestion caused by celiac and could be easier to treat.

Thank you so much for your response  Yes it seems as though things get very painful as time goes on.  I'm not eating gluten as far as I know.  However, I'm not sure of cross contamination.  My system seems to weaken to hidden spices and other possibilities. ???  if cross contamination is possible...I am in a super sensitive mode of celiac disease.. Neuropathy from head to toes

EXACTLY! I was asked yesterday on my LAST video call with Standford and I stated exactly yes absolutely this is why I need the name! One, get proper care, two, not get worse.Im falling apart, stressed out, in pain and just opened email from Stanford stating I was rude ect.I want that video reviewed by higher ups and see if that women still has a job or not.Im saying this because I've been medically screwed and asking for help because bills don't pay itself. This could be malpratice siit but im not good at finding lawyers

We feel your pain. It took me 20+ years of regularly going to doctors desperate for answers only to be told there was nothing wrong with me … when I was 20 pounds underweight, suffering from severe nutritional deficiencies, and in a great deal of pain. I had to figure it out for myself. If you're in the U.S., not having an official diagnosis does mean you can't claim a tax deduction for the extra expense of gluten-free foods. But it can also be a good thing. Pre-existing conditions might be a reason why a health insurance company might reject your application or charge you more money. No official diagnosis means you don't have a pre-existing condition. I really hope you don't live in the U.S. and don't have these challenges. Do you need an official diagnosis for a specific reason? Else, I wouldn't worry about it. As long as you're diligent in remaining gluten free, your body should be healing as much as possible so there isn't much else you could do anyway. And there are plenty of us out here who never got that official diagnosis because we couldn't eat enough gluten to get tested. Now that the IL-2 test is available, I suppose I could take it, but I don't feel the need. Someone else not believing me really isn't my problem as long as I can stay in control of my own food.

If you're just starting out in being gluten free, I would expect it to take months before you learned enough about hidden sources of gluten before you stopped making major mistakes. Ice cream? Not safe unless they say it is gluten free. Spaghetti sauce? Not safe unless is says gluten-free. Natural ingredients? Who knows what's in there. You pretty much need to cook with whole ingredients yourself to avoid it completely. Most gluten-free products should be safe, but while you're in the hypersensitive phase right after going gluten free, you may notice that when something like a microwave meal seems to not be gluten-free … then you find out that it is produced in a shared facility where it can become contaminated. My reactions were much-more severe after going gluten free. The analogy that I use is that you had a whole army of soldiers waiting for some gluten to attack, and now that you took away their target, when the stragglers from the gluten army accidentally wander onto the battlefield, you still have your entire army going out and attacking them. Expect it to take two years before all of the training facilities that were producing your soldiers have fallen into disrepair and are no longer producing soldiers. But that is two years after you stop accidentally glutening yourself. Every time you do eat gluten, another training facility can be built and more soldiers will be waiting to attack. Good luck figuring things out.
