Look at my pic on my profile. That was a Halloween costume. I wore a chef jacket and hat and Hub wore black pants, white shirt & tie and a short black waiters apron. You can get them at a uniform store (the kind that sell to nurses). Very comfy. Or one of you could be the waiter and the other a diner if you could find one of those "lobster bibs".

My BIL & SIL dressed as June and Ward cleaver once. Pearls and an old dress.

Make a jumpsuit out of some fluffy material that sheds a lot and go as a gluten molecule.

Welp, if they're family, go as the relatives nobody wants to talk about. You can show up in curlers with a cigarette hanging out of your mouth and hand the hostess a burnt pie, or a twinkie cake. Mark can be a half-buttoned wreck with a bottle in a paper bag, and pinch all the women's behinds.

This is a great idea, but Patteigh needs to be the man and Mark the woman....much, MUCH funnier........you'll bring the house down.... :lol:B)

 <snort> I knew I came to the right place--when we were talking about what we could go as last night, I immediately said I'd pose it to The Sillies :P

Phab ideas! I actually thought of going as a hooker, and loved the chef/matre'd idea. If we do the "trashy relatives" maybe Matt could be the lazy kid still living in our basement that never gets out of his bathrobe. :D

And who else would pay money to see Shroomie dressed up as a street walker?? :o:lol::wub:

My husband and I went to a custome party as Ellie May Clampett and Larry the Cable Guy. blonde wig braided with bows, jean capris with rope belt. plaid shirt with sleeves taken off, jeans, and fake rolex watch, and baseball hat.

Trouble is my Ellie may impression was so good people said my husband was Jethro. So when we had a little kiss, it was really frowned upon. Beyond kissin' couzins.

Shroom, tis a character from a 60's sitcom--The Beverly Hillbillies. Ellie May was the daughter of the guy who struck oil and moved the family to Beverly Hills.

Pattei, I had a friend who dressed in sweats she had painted spots all over, did pigtails, painted her nose black with whiskers, and stuck a tail on her butt. She was a dalmation. Looked pretty darn comfy! I also have a guy friend who has long hair and bears a pretty close resemblance to Ron Jeremy, so every year he just wears a hawaiian shirt and an ID tag that says Ron Jeremy. Slacker.

Or encase yourself in plaster and go as a home-baked gluten free loaf  (and let Mark be Wonder Bread).

Mark can hand out doggie poop bags, and you can put your hands over your ears and yell "go away" every time he opens his mouth.

Ahoy Mateys! Tis the tenth Anniversary of Talk Like a Pirate Day! Argh!

A wee pirate tale to regale you:

A pirate walks into a bar and the bartender says, "Hey, I haven't seen you in a while. What happened, you look terrible!"

"What do you mean?" the pirate replies, "I'm fine."

The bartender says, "But what about that wooden leg? You didn't have that before."

"Well," says the pirate, "We were in a battle at sea and a cannon ball hit my leg but the surgeon fixed me up, and I'm fine, really."

"Yeah," says the bartender, "But what about that hook? Last time I saw you, you had both hands."

"Well," says the pirate, "We were in another battle and we boarded the enemy ship. I was in a sword fight and my hand was cut off but the surgeon fixed me up with this hook, and I feel great, really."

"Oh," says the bartender, "What about that eye patch? Last time you were in here you had both eyes."

"Well," says the pirate, "One day when we were at sea, some birds were flying over the ship. I looked up, and one of them shat in my eye."

"So?" replied the bartender, "what happened? You couldn't have lost an eye just from some bird s$#&!"

"Well," says the pirate, "I really wasn't used to the hook yet."

Desperately need a vitamin D supplement. I've reacted to most brands I've tried.

How do I contact someone at celiac.com concerning the cessation of my weekly e-newsletter? I had been receiving it regularly for years. When I tried to sign-up on the website, my email was not accepted. I tried again with a new email address and that was rejected as well. Thank you in advance!

Hello, @Jane02,  I take Naturewise D 3.  It contains olive oil.   Some Vitamin D supplements, like D Drops, are made with fractionated coconut oil which can cause digestive upsets.  Fractionated coconut oil is not the same as coconut oil used for cooking.  Fractionated coconut oil has been treated for longer shelf life, so it won't go bad in the jar, and thus may be irritating to the digestive system. I avoid supplements made with soy because many people with Celiac Disease also react to soy.  Mixed tocopherols, an ingredient in Thornes Vitamin D, may be sourced from soy oil.  Kirkland's has soy on its ingredient list. I avoid things that might contain or be exposed to crustaceans, like Metagenics says on its label.  I have a crustacean/shellfish/fish allergy.  I like Life Extension Bioactive Complete B Complex.  I take additional Thiamine B 1 in the form Benfotiamine which helps the intestines heal, Life Extension MegaBenfotiamine. Thiamine is needed to activate Vitamin D.   Low thiamine can make one feel like they are getting glutened after a meal containing lots of simple carbohydrates like white rice, or processed gluten free foods like cookies and pasta.   It's rare to have a single vitamin deficiency.  The water soluble B Complex vitamins should be supplemented together with additional Thiamine in the form Benfotiamine and Thiamine TTFD (tetrahydrofurfuryl disulfide) to correct subclinical deficiencies that don't show up on blood tests.  These are subclinical deficiencies within organs and tissues.  Blood is a transportation system.  The body will deplete tissues and organs in order to keep a supply of thiamine in the bloodstream going to the brain and heart.   If you're low in Vitamin D, you may well be low in other fat soluble vitamins like Vitamin A and Vitamin K. Have you seen a dietician?

I do not know this, but since they are labelled gluten-free, and are not really a product that could easily be contaminated when making them (there would be not flour in the air of such a facility, for example), I don't really see contamination as something to be concerned about for this type of product.

Thanks @Scott Adams. Do you know if Kirkland Signature supplements share facility and production lines with other products containing gluten?  I'm worried that I'll react to this brand just like I did with other gluten-free labelled supplement brands.
