It's just such a rare occurrence, both the shopping for shoes, and finding them. I needed some for my interview, and found a bonus pair! :D

This is a good omen

I remember the last time you bought shoes--you may not do it often, but you do it well :P

Hey!!! Sorry I missed the Hey Jude peekin in. I think of you and send "well wishes" your way....do you feel them? Hope the meds help. Sounds like you are getting lots of things done.

Pieter stopped by too. Glad to see you....sorry you didn't do a huge run of business during the special event. "Woofstock" gave me a chuckle....mental picture of many many dogs at a super-party...jammin' away!

So......ShJess!!! What about them shoes? You can't just drop a teaser like that and not follow through!

I'm hoping that the quiet day meant that everyone was having some fun and just too busy to be here.

BTW.....Juuude...I'm so glad that your reunion and family visits went so well. I have never been to any school reunions.....not sure I ever will. Kinda neat to have had such a small class....and a close group!

When was that? August?

Ok. I found the absolute coolest weird strappy sandals things. And at Ross, so 20 bucks! :D :D :D :D My feet are so screwed up that usually I'm lucky if I find something for under a 100.

Could have been--it was quite a while ago. Yeah cause it was just before fall and you bought Italian leather

Funny how there is so much less activity on the weekends. Is that a sign that people have actual lives and better things to do on the weekends? Hope its fun...what ever you all are doing!!

ShzJess....what kind of shoes is it that you like? I'm just curious!!! If I have a decent pair of work boots, hikers, sneakers...I'm happy. I DO like work boots! :P Much to hubbies chagrin. When we met I had 1 pair of black dress shoes. I figgered they were good for anything I might wear on those very rare occaisions that I might dress better than jeans!! How many times I heard.....you can't wear black shoes with that.....so I bought a pair of brown shoes (that I wore once). They both live in boxes in my closet. I do have a pair of dress boots (I love them) for my dress-pants type wear. Hubby just sighs these days  I have a pair of dress sneakers....does that count?

Is working up to be another bee-you-tee-phul day here! Wish I could invite you all to come sit by the pond to just hang and chat! Would be so much fun!

Great day to you all....

Gooooood Sunday mornin', Psills!

Wedding shower this afternoon, an hour's drive away.... . . ..my second-youngest nephew's marriage is in August, and I've no dress, NOR SHOES, Jyessss. Sounds like I need you to scout out some lovely, cheap li'l strappy numbers for me.......I am as well a member of the screwed-up ankle/feet fraternity. . . .....

Since much of my dad's TV wardrobe is sitting unused in storage at the house, I've often thought that it should be worn - - seems like a waste of some very sophisticated costumes, still perfectly good. I should probably look through it all, and wear the sumo wrestler body, thong and wig to the wedding.

Or the German Prison Commandant . . .....or the complete Dame Edna ensemble (Dad's name was Bernice when he was portraying her)...... . . ..or the incredible drunken lo-life, complete with filthy, rolled-up foam mattress pad tied to the back. .. ...

I would love to wear one of these. I think heads may turn when I enter the church, and our bride would not be amused.

OR: Why not bring the costumes into the hospital, and help my dad get into them, a new one each day?

...Now there's an idea. . . .. .....

Going downstairs but just wanted to ck back as i posted on the smoking thread too

Em, so sorry about your Dad.

Was he able to get out of the hospital at all since that first surgery?

He's been in the hospital ever since that first surgery, which was April 23rd. :(

Hence the merit of this wardrobe idea - - nothing would spice up a hideously long hospital stay, for the patient and particularly for the staff, like authentic John Wayne

chaps, holster and stetson or Richard Simmons spandex and reeboks. . . .....

Sillies-----I have just concocted the most enjoyable lil dessert. Sliced banana, scoop of plain greek yogurt, chopped pecans, drizzle of honey, and cinnamon. Yum!

Wow!! And I can eat this! I can replace the honey with stevia . .. ....and cinammon has shown real promise in helping control blood sugars.

Could have been--it was quite a while ago. Yeah cause it was just before fall and you bought Italian leather

Now we know what's on Patti's permanent Christmas list.:lol:

Um.. . . . . ....Patteigh is into leather. . . . .......

What else is that goil keeping from us, the kind, wholesome soul down south. . ....

Still waters run deep. . ....... ..

Leather, huh?

:P

;)

I have a pair of dress sneakers....does that count?

Tareeeesuh.. . .. . ...please describe.

Jestgar Rising Star

Dress sneakers!

90% of the time I wear super supportive sneakers. In addition to the owie bits, my feet are wide and I have bunions, so finding something I can even put on is unusual. I pretty much take what I can get.

Em! I think you've hit on a wonderphul idea! 'Twould be a great uplift for yer dad's spirits to be able to wear his constumes (or parts of them), to remember the fun he had in them, and even to pretend for a while that he is not the poor, hurting man stuck in that interminably dull and monotonous environment. So kool.....maybe you could both play dress up together and role-play. Just fabulous! Wish we could come and play, too! :P

We are off to a craft fair, and then back home to work play. Paul is building a trellis for me....well, actually for the climbing roses (which at this point are very drooping roses). *I* will not be climbing the trellis  Spent some time with the camera outside this am. I love the gardens (did I tell you that already? :P ). It's so like Christmas to me....something new over and over again.

Yes...I have "dress sneakers". Nothing special about them.....I have 2 pair...one white (summer), one black (not summer). They are kept clean (meaning I don't wear them in the garden) and wear them when I go "out" (meaning not in the garden). I wear them with dress suits.....with dress pants and blouses.....with clean jeans (meaning jeans I don't wear in the garden).....they are quite versatile! My favorite sneakers look more like hikers (ankle support is almost a must), but I do have "walking shoes" that look presentable (depending on your perspective.....meaning....not my husbands). I have learned to leave the boots for winter wear (I can learn new tricks, still). Butt, the winters here are shorter and milder, which means I have fewer opportunities for boot-wearing. Perhaps I need to revert back to year-round boots. :D

Happy Sunday mornin' dear sillies!!!! :D

Dress sneekers--I have some! They're lil sneeker maryjanes--tres comfortable and cute. B) I wears em a lot wif jeans in the cooler weather. I'm a "shoe" junkie  and have lots--especially me Birks. Have pairs in many colors/styles....they're me main form of phootwear. Me pheet are happiest in them, and living here should insure I can wear them lots, if not year-round.

Em  Yer dad's costumes!!! :P I think you should avail yerselph of them fer different social occasions. Think of how proud that would make dad

T--would love to come sit by yer pond and reflect. :) I miss me pond in PA--so relaxing to just sit and watch the goings on of the various fish, frogs, bugs.......

Jess--are you all set fer tomorrow? Those people should thank their lucky stars that you're coming their way! I feel like a nervous mother  Um...wait.......older sister.....yeah, that's better :P

Morning Sillies and Happy Sunday

Its going to be a very warm day here so I am thinking about heading over to the inlaws and taking a swim. We need to head that way anyway to say goodbye to John's brother since he is leaving tuesday for Russia to study abroad for 2 months. He is heading to NJ this evening or early tomorrow to stay with his aunt- he is flying out of either Newark or JFK...not sure.

I just marinated chicken for dinner tonight. We got a grill Memorial Day weekend and let me tell you we use it at least 5-6 times a week. I love it! So I just marinated lemon garlic chicken. I am trying to figure out what as a side dish- maybe some rissoto.

I have found the gluten free betty crocker mixes and all I can say is Sweet! The cookies were so amazing and they stayed soft! Friday I made the brownies but I mixed in the cookie mix too so they Chocolate Chip Cookie Brownies....to die for! The price for each box- 3.59. Decent compared to the 6.99 I used to pay for the GFP truffle brownie mix.

Jess- Good luck tomorrow hun!!! I know how much this means to you. You and I have talked about the lovelies at our jobs in the past and I tell ya- there are strong similarites so I know how you feel.

Lisa how was dancing!

Hope Raychel enjoyed her birthday!

Everyone else!!! HIHIHIHIHI

:lol: Now THAT would take some arm-twisting, ta be shoore. .. . ....

When dad was hallucinating, I believe he was likely seeing these characters walking in and out from his curtained alcove, so the costumes haven't been necessary... .. ..

Best of luck tomorrow, Jyesss, you rockin' scientist, you! ;)B)

Hi, Amanda! :)

We do NOT have the BC gluten-free mixes here yet. . . .....

I appreciate you validating me because medical is an issue and it's not ok at all they they do this. Some days I just want to call the news media and just call out these doctors especially when they are supposed to be specialist Downplaying when gluten-free when they should know gluten-free is false negative. Now dealing with other issues and still crickets for disability because I show no signs of celiac BECAUSE IM GLUTENFREE! Actively dealing with sibo and skin issues.Depression is the key because thats all they know, im depressed because medical has caused it because of my celiac and related issues. I should have never ever been employed as a bus driver. After 3 years still healing and ZERO income desperately trying to get better but no careteam for celiac other than stay away frim wheat! Now im having care because my head is affected either ms or meningioma in go in tomorrow again for more scans.I know im slowly dying and im looking like a disability chaser

M&M Peanuts. About the same calories and sugar while M&M Peanuts have fiber, potassium, iron and protein that Tootsie Rolls ("We are currently producing more than 50 million Tootsie Rolls each day.") don't. Click the links to compare nutritional values.  Both are made with sugar, not high fructose corn syrup.  I use them as a gluten free substitute for a peanut butter sandwich.  Try her on grass fed, pasture fed milk. While I get heartburn at night from commercial dairy milk, I do not from 'grassmilk'.
    • Theresa2407
I see it everyday on my feeds.  They go out and buy gluten-free processed products and wonder why they can't heal their guts.  I don't think they take it as a serious immune disease. They pick up things off the internet which is so far out in left field.  Some days I would just like to scream.  So much better when we had support groups and being able to teach them properly. I just had an EMA blood test because I haven't had one since my Doctor moved away.  Got test results today, doctor ordered a D3 vitamin test.  Now you know what  type of doctors we have.  Now I will have to pay for this test because she just tested my D3 end of December, and still have no idea about my EMA.

Some of the Cocomels are gluten and dairy-free: https://cocomels.com/collections/shop-page
    • Scott Adams
Thank you for the kind words! I keep thinking that things in the medical community are improving, but a shocking number of people still post here who have already discovered gluten is their issue, and their doctors ordered a blood test and/or endoscopy for celiac disease, yet never mentioned that the protocol for such screening requires them to be eating gluten daily for weeks beforehand. Many have already gone gluten-free during their pre-screening period, thus their test results end up false negative, leaving them confused and sometimes untreated. It is sad that so few doctors attended your workshops, but it doesn't surprise me. It seems like the protocols for any type of screening should just pop up on their computer screens whenever any type of medical test is ordered, not just for celiac disease--such basic technological solutions could actually educate those in the medical community over time.
