Just wanted to give anyone an update on the conference, Nov.5 06. I have been pushing to get Eberybody Eats into the conference because of their quality products. Hooray! they are in & will be there. But for anyone wishing to purchase their items they ask that you phone or e-mail them ahead of time with your orders. It will be difficult for them to bring frozen because of the distant for them.

If you haven't had a chance to try their items they will be sampling..... some!!!!

We attendees are so lucky to have them at the conference. Please order ahead so after you have sampled you will not be disappointed by not being able to purchase. The rolls & baguettes freeze very well.

I,m so excited.........

I’m worried about cross contamination, as people don’t clear up properly. I take my own lunch in a packed lunch box with my own cutlery, plate etc and wash it all at home everyday rather than using the schools communal options. There is always crumbs or food left out for us to share on tables etc.

Welcome to the forum, @Tanya177! Help us understand why you don't eat with the other staff members at the present time. I'm assuming you already pack your own lunch rather than eating school cafeteria food. Surely there are other staffers who bring their own lunches. How would this be different if you did not have celiac disease?

Thank you so much and I am still very careful not to eat it.

I am a teacher in a primary school diagnosed with celiac disease 7 months ago. I eat my lunch in my classroom and pop into the staff room for a drink and a chat with colleagues after.  I have worked at the school for 14years.   I have been told that next year I am moving year groups and will be in another building where I don’t really know any of the other staff members.  The staff room in that building is tiny and there is really nowhere to sit. I am worried I am going to be isolated as by the time I’ve had my lunch gone over to the other building it will be time to go back and get ready for the afternoon. Am I being over anxious?  or is there something that I can ask for at work to help the situation.

Welcome to the forum, @DJBC! Which IGA test did you get done. From the magnitude of your score (336) that sounds like a total IGA score, not a tTG-IGA score. Total IGA is a test for IGA deficiency, not for celiac disease per se. The centerpiece test for celiac disease is the tTG-IGA. If there is IGA deficiency, it will result in an artificially low tTG-IGA score and potential false negatives. There is another IGA test for celiac disease as well, namely, the DGP-IGA and there are also none IGA tests (IGG tests).  Did you have more than one test ordered for celiac disease? Can you post back and list them all with scores along with reference ranges? From what you have posted so far, all I can say is it looks like you are not IGA deficient but that doesn't say anything one way or the other about whether or not you have celiac disease. Here is an article outlining the various tests that can be run to detect celiac disease:
