Ugh! I just need to complain. Which I feel like i shouldn't do because I didn't get my period for 6 months and now at least I'm getting it which gives me hope......but along with the good comes the bad.

today was a full body meltdown. Actually, it was pretty close to an out-of-body experience. I woke up early to correct papers (6 am) not a mornig person. At 10 I had to go back to bed for a nap before I left to teach.

But before I could leave I had to spend a half hour on the toilet. I get really bad C before my cycle and then it's like whoosh! Which only made me more tired. And really upset my stomach.

I don't really get cramps, but man, everything is so tender and I am so tired!

Dem hormones is brutal!

I hope you're feeling better soon. Have you tried taking supplements like essential fatty acids, especially omega 3s? I don't mean just when you have your period, but consistently. It would take about two months before you would notice a difference. There are other supplements, like primrose oil that are supposed to help.

Thanks Ursula- Just started evening primrose and need to get back on that fish oil!

Bev,

I know what you mean! It sucks. I don't have any good advice for you, but I have also noticed that I often get bad D before my period (not that its that different from most days for me, haha!). That really is great you are getting it again--definitely a sign of hope! I hope that you make it through the day....getting bad D drains the energy. Good luck!

Sorry you're feeling down ... I hate that!! In my NFP teaching days we recommended Oil of Evening Primrose, as has already been mentioned, magnesium (500-1000mg), and B6 (50 mg, but take it as part of a complex, B vitamins work together).

At least your hormones are working!! Six months without ....

This treatment looks promising. Its aim is to provoke immune tolerance of gluten, possibly curing the disease. It passed the phase 2 trial with flying colours, and I came across a post on Reddit by one of the study volunteers. Apparently, the results were good enough that the company is applying for fast track approval.  Anokion Announces Positive Symptom Data from its Phase 2 Trial Evaluating KAN-101 for the Treatment of Celiac Disease https://www.reddit.com/r/Celiac/comments/1krx2wh/kan_101_trial_put_on_hold/

BTW, we've done other articles on this topic that I wanted to share here (not to condone smoking!):

Hi everyone  This has been a crazy year so far... How many people actually get entire sensory overload from gluten or something similar ?  My jaw is going nuts ..and that nerve is affecting my upper back and so on ...  Bones even hurt.  Brain fog. Etc  I had eggs seemed fine.   Then my aid cooked a chicken stir fry in the microwave because my food order shorted a couple key items .   I was so hungry but I noticed light breading and some ingredients with SOY !!! Why are we suffering with soy ? This triggered a sensitivity to bananas and gluten-free yogurt it seems like it's a cycle that it goes on.  The tiniest amount of something gets me I'm guessing the tiny bit of breading that I took one tiny nibble of ...yikes ..im cringing from it .. Feels like my stomach is going to explode yet still very hungry 😔  How long does this last?! Thank you so much

I have had orthodontic work done. The 3M invisalign material was no problem. BUT my retainers are another matter. They seemed okay for a few months. Now, however, they cause a burning sensation on my tongue, gums and insides of my lips. The burning sensation is now spreading to my throat. I notice it when I breathe. This is annoying and interferes with my enjoyment of eating. I am visiting with my provider tomorrow. We'll see where this goes from here.
