Graham Cracker Crumbs?

Does anyone have any suggestions for gluten-free graham cracker crumbs? because for christmas my family always makes these reese balls....peanut butter and graham cracker crumbs rolled together and then dipped in chocolate. these are my absolute favorites and i don't know what i'm gonna do come christmas if i can't have these?! thanks....

I would try smashing up gluten-free cookies (shortbread) and using the crumbs.

I made ginger cookies that ended up being way too crumbly, so I just crumbled them all up and they are in the freezer awaiting that very thing you mentioned.

IT was a mix from Grandma Ferndons. I think it was actually ginger snaps

Health Valley makes a rice bran graham style cracker and it tastes very similar to a graham cracker, only they are much harder. But smashed up as crumbs they would work fine. You just need to smash them very fine, or grind them in a food processor or grinder. I buy them at Whole Foods.

It is possible to make your own cramb crackers. My grandma makes gluten free graham crackers for herself and one of her granddaughters. I tasted them and they were pretty good. She had used them in a cheese cake crust.

I've used teff flour (available from Bob's Red Mill and also from the Teff Company) for apple pies and also pumpkin pie. The consistency of the pie crust is a little bit like a graham craker crumb base.

It might work to bake an unfilled pie crust (made from teff flour) and then crumble it.

Has anyone ever tried doing this?

I've used the envirokids vanilla gluten free animal cookies for things like cheese cake crust... they are very tasty, I'd try them.

Graham Crackers

Ingredients:

¾ Cup margarine

½ Cup honey

1 Cup brown sugar

1 tsp. vanilla

1 ½ cups brown rice flour

1 ½ cups gluten free flour

2 Tbs. soy flour

1 tsp. xanthan

1 tsp. salt

1 tsp. cinnamon

3 tsp. baking powder

½-¾ Cups water

Ingredients:

Mix honey, margarine, brown sugar and vanilla. In another bowl mix dry ingredients, stir in alternately with water till soft ball. Fefriderate for 1 hour or more. Roll 1.2 of the dough on parchment paper, shape to fit jelly roll pan. Transfer to pan, cut into three inch squares and poke holes in the dough with a fork. Bake at 325 for 30 minutes. Then repeat with second half of dough. Cool. You can make into crumbs and make graham cracker crumb pie crust.

      Hi everyone, I decided to post this since there's no enough online information. I'm concerned about the enzyme capsules that are said to help digest gluten.  I'm waiting to end my university exams to start the gluten challenge and do the official diagnosis for Celiac Disease. A friend of mine suggested me to buy the "Gluten Digest Now" capsules during the Gluten Challenge to manage my severe side effects. But I'm not sure if it's worth it, if it's celiac disease the intestinal damage will occur regardless.  What about the symptoms? There's someone that knows if it could help to reduce them?  I’m worried people might be using these as a "safety net" without understanding how they work. Has anyone here used them during a challenge? Did they make a difference, or did they just provide a false sense of security?

      Try heallix solution. It's at heallix.com It's a silver and fulvic acid solution.  I just put it on a cotton ball and wiped the shingles area. I also took a little internally once a day. I can't remember how many times a day I applied to the area. Probably  3-4 times a day. It was the only thing that stopped the nerve pain. I don't know if the vaseline is good.  The shingles need to dry out and heal.  Wash everything that comes in contact  with them in hot water. Don't use or wear anything twice.

      My husband just had shingles going on 7 weeks now. We had been putting Vaseline on the blisters and lidocaine cream and he was prescribed an antiviral.  Also he still has the nerve pain it was bad and is getting better it is his upper left torso. His dr prescribed gabapentin 300mg 3x a day and he's also taking naproxen 500ng 2x a day and tylenol 1000mg every 6 hrs. Hope this helps  The lidocaine cream is by tylenol and is available in a large tube on Amazon or at Walmart

      What are your daily meals? Guilty pleasure snacks? Protein bars? I feel when looking for gluten free foods they are filled with sugar cholesterol. Looking for healthy gluten-free protein bars. Something to fill since sometimes I feel like not to eat anything. Especially if on vacation and unsure of cross contamination I figure go with a salad and protein bar to fill and play it safe.

      Unfortunately, there is presently no test for NCGS. Celiac disease must first be ruled out. NCGS is thought to be much more common than celiac disease. We know that celiac disease is an autoimmune disorder but the mechanism of NCGS is less clear. Both call for an elimination of gluten from the diet.
