Help! I need some ideas for desserts for this weekend. We have a family outing every year at a state park near us. This is the first year I will be going and being gluten free. (last year I was supposed to be married but was in the hospital trying to find out what was wrong with me, celiacs of course)

I dont want to bring anything like fruit and dip. We are making smores for the kids. For me and Colin we are making banana boats, with mini marshmallows and mini chocolate morsels in the banana, wrap it up in foil and cook over fire like you would roast marshmallows. I learned that one in girl scouts.. but I need something else.. please give any ideas you have!!

You could make gluten free cookies, or cupcakes. I don't know if that is the type of thing that you want but they are something easy to travel with and you could share. Hope that helps a bit. I am new to being gluten free and have only made cake and cookies so far.

How about Gluten Free Pantry Truffle Brownies, with chocolate frosting and chopped walnuts? I'm thinking that it would be easy to carry to an outing.

      Welcome to the forum, @yellowstone! The most common ones seem to be dairy (casein), oats, eggs, soy and corn. "Formed" meat products (because of the "meat glue" used to hold their shape) is a problem for some. But it can be almost anything on an individual basis as your sensitivity to rice proves, since rice is uncommonly a "cross reactor" for celiacs. Some celiacs seem to not do well with any cereal grains.

      What foods can trigger a response in people with gluten sensitivity? I've read that there are foods that, although they don't contain gluten, can cause problems for people with gluten sensitivity because they contain proteins similar to gluten that trigger a response in the body. I've seen that other cereals are included: corn, rice... also chicken, casein. I would like to know what other foods can cause this reaction, and if you have more information on the subject, I would like to know about it. Right now, I react very badly to rice and corn. Thank you.

      Shingles is dormant and related to chicken pox when one has had in the past.Shingles comes out when stress is heightened.I had my 3rd Shingles in 2023.
