Does anyone know which brands of lip smackers or chapstick are gluten free? I'm looking for something with a very pale color or no color at all - it's for a child. Thanks.

I use Badger's lip balm. I find it health food stores, or at Whole Foods. I love it--it's very natural, and it doesn't have any color. I've also verified it to be gluten-free.

I have heard her that Lip Smackers have wheat germ oil in them but I have not verified that myself.

Burt's Beeswax makes some sparkly, colored lip balm that is gluten-free.

I also use Badger Balm. It comes either in a stick or a pot. They have some nice flavors, too. Cinnamon, lemon/ginger and a couple of others.

I called them and they told me they use no gluten there whatsoever.

I believe regular Chapstick is gluten free, as is Blistex. I generally use Bert's Bees Peppermint lip balm, myself.

I also use Burts Bees. Just their plain beeswax lip balm in the tube. Even before going gluten free I got hooked on this kind the first time I used it and nothing seems to work as well for me.

some of the chapstick flavors do contain gluten and some do not, I recommend calling the company and verifying for yourself. Personally I use Burt's Bees but mymom got my daughter one of the Disney Chapsticks and I did verify that flavor was gluten-free but I don't remember the other flavors that were.

I have been using Kiss My Face. The ingredients seem ok. Does anyone know if it is definitley gluten free?

Lip Rescue with Shea Butter, made by Desert Essence is really good. I have not called the company, but all ingredients look ok. I had a terrible time a few months ago with really, really, dry lips that nothing helped - until I tried this. I bought it at my local health food store and it is also available online.

BTW, we've done other articles on this topic that I wanted to share here (not to condone smoking!):

Hi everyone  This has been a crazy year so far... How many people actually get entire sensory overload from gluten or something similar ?  My jaw is going nuts ..and that nerve is affecting my upper back and so on ...  Bones even hurt.  Brain fog. Etc  I had eggs seemed fine.   Then my aid cooked a chicken stir fry in the microwave because my food order shorted a couple key items .   I was so hungry but I noticed light breading and some ingredients with SOY !!! Why are we suffering with soy ? This triggered a sensitivity to bananas and gluten-free yogurt it seems like it's a cycle that it goes on.  The tiniest amount of something gets me I'm guessing the tiny bit of breading that I took one tiny nibble of ...yikes ..im cringing from it .. Feels like my stomach is going to explode yet still very hungry 😔  How long does this last?! Thank you so much

This is an older article, but may be helpful.

I have had orthodontic work done. The 3M invisalign material was no problem. BUT my retainers are another matter. They seemed okay for a few months. Now, however, they cause a burning sensation on my tongue, gums and insides of my lips. The burning sensation is now spreading to my throat. I notice it when I breathe. This is annoying and interferes with my enjoyment of eating. I am visiting with my provider tomorrow. We'll see where this goes from here.

Exactly which blood tests were done? There are a few different ones and some docs don't do them all. Also, your results and reference ranges for each?
