My son's First Communion is in April. I need to find a restaurant I can safely eat at. Mama's is too far to drag the whole family to. I love their food. Cafe Baldo I'm not crazy about and its in my town. Are there anyother places in Nassau County? I want to be able to enjoy my son's day. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hey Donna,

They don't have a gluten free menu but Cafe Bacci (or Bacci Cafe, I forget which it is) on Old Country Rd in Westbury, is great for these type of events and they will be very accomodating for you. I went to a party for a Christening there several months ago, and they couldn't have been more helpful. I had a delicious rosemary chicken breast with roasted potatoes and deliciously seasoned vegetables.

I'll let you know if I can think of anywhere else.

There is a gluten-free restaurant in Wantagh too, but for the life of me, I can't remember what it is called. I know they have spaghetti and meatballs, lasagna, pizza--lots of favorites. Is Wantagh too far away?

I actually live in Wantagh. The restaurant is Cafe Baldo. I have eaten there the food is alright. I was just wondering if there was something else.

I know what restaurant you are talking about. I'm definitely going to look into it. Would you believe I'm considering going up to Westchester for my son's party. Have you tried Four Doors Down in Buchanan?

I live in nassau county and the only other place I come up with (besides what has already been mentioned)are the steak places on northern blvd on north shore..I know one of them has gluten free menu online, maybe Ruth's Chris?? ANd peter lugar steaks are supposed to be gluten free. Not sure if you are a meat eater but most of those restaurants are very nice and I'm assuming would be very accommodating...htey also have private party rooms if you are having a large crowd...

PF Changs in the Source Mall has a gluten free menu and it's a good place to go with a big group.

how about legal sea food. the food is good and also has meat choices.

Legal Seafoods is great! We went there for my birthday and the managers take care of all the gluten-free orders. They were sooo great. We ordered the gluten-free calamari (which was not good, ps avoid the gluten-free fried seafood, not exciting) and we tasted it and dint like it at all but i figured wed bring it home and cook it with some sauce or something and they offered to take it off the bill for us. Soooo great there.

Also charlie browns steakhouses are really good and have gluten-free menus and great for big parties. Not sure where they are in nasssau but there is one in commack right off the sagitokos pkwy

Hey If you are planning on coming down to Westchester to go to Four Doors Down, You should go to Seasons instead. I have never been to Four Doors Down, so I would know if it's good or not. But On the other hand, I have been to Seasons and I know the owners, it's a great restuarant and it's a great place for parties. My dad was talking to the chef the other day about how much I like the restuarant and he explained to my dad that they are extra careful and he show him the kitchen.

Great suggestion, but I think that may be really far for her (and her family) to travel. That is easily 2 hours from where she is in Nassau county.

What town is this restaurant in? I have family in Briarcliff Manor and Ossining. I'm willing to make a trip for good and safe food. I have eaten at Ciao in Eastchester and that was worth the trip. Only 45 minutes away. Thanks for the info.

It's in Somers. It's like 15 mins from Briarcliff Manor. My boyfriend lives in Briarcliff Manor.

      So I've been dealing with chasing the name celiac because of my body actively dealing with health issues related to celiac though not eating. Diagnosed in 1994 before foods eliminated from diet. After 25 years with former pcp I googled celiac specialist and she wasn't because of what ive been through. I wanted my results to be sent to my pcp but nothing was sent.I have email copies.I did one zoom call with np with team member from celiac specialist in Nov 2025 and she asked me why I wanted to know why I wanted the celiac diagnosis so bad, I sad I don't, its my life and I need revalidaion because its affecting me.KB stated well it shows you are.I asked then why am I going through all this.I was labeled unruly. Its been a celiac circus and medical has caused anxiety and depression no fault to my own other than being born with bad genetics. How is it legal for medical professionals to gaslight patients that are with an ailment coming for help to be downplayed? KB put in my records that she personally spent 120min with me and I think the zoom call was discussing celiac 80 min ONE ZOOM call.SHE is responsible for not explaining to my pcp about celiac disease am I right?

Its alarming these places are popping up in airports as well.I just saw on the news that the airport ( can't remember which  one)was going to have a fabulous smelling bakery. Not for sensitive celiacs, this can alter their health during their travel which isn't safe. More awareness really NEEDS to be promoted, so much more than just a food consumption!FYI I did write to Stanislaus to let them know my thoughts on the medical field not knowing much about celiac and how it affects one.I also did message my gi the 3 specialist names that was given on previous post on questions on celiac. I pray its not on deaf door.

      I used to be able to get the Rivera yougut i havent been able to get it lately. I like getting it did say it did say gluten free. I just looking for a good yogurt that gluten free that i can add some fruit and nuts to any suggestion would be helpful  thanks
