Update On My Brother

So a couple days ago, my brother smugly announced he'd eaten two chicken sandwiches one day

and then pizza for dinner, with basically no effect. So the last couple days, he'd slipped back to eating whatever he wanted...yesterday he had a couple soft (flour) tacos for lunch etc..

Basically told me his aches and pains were gone...likely from the new AD "Cymbalta" he was taking.

Today he calls me (from the bathroom at his work, sorry TMI) and says....the gastro symptoms are back. He now has a rash all over his face...and he hurts all over again.

Sheesh...what do ya all think of that:)

I think he acts just like your twin. I remember you doing the same kinds of things, always doubting the gluten problem was real. How long did it take you to face reality?

And for that matter, you yourself are still posting in the pre-diagnosis forum, as if you were still not sure. Sheesh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :P

Lisa Mentor

OOOPS, maybe that will make a believer out of him, finally. :(

A clear case of "DENIAL" goes on with most of us. Yeah, we all go through it to some extent. I spent nearly a year going back and forth, denying the extent of the problem. I guess one finally gets to the point where you say "OK, I give up...I get it." ;)

And where would you have me post...

There are so many forum's here and I'm resistant to change.

It feels funny posting in the "Celiac Disease" forums, cause you know, I just don't have an

official diagnosis.

Maybe there should be a "Gluten Purgatory" forum for guys like me:)

Don't kid yourself Jerry, you have it, so does your twin! We all do, doesn't matter if we are doctor diagnosed or not. You are a member of the club--you need a new shirt that says--KISS ME CAREFULLY, I'M GLUTEN FREE, ARE YOU

Funny, my wife tried to kiss me the other night with garlic bread crumbs all over her lips.

I brushed them off:)

Try the 'Celiac Disease - Coping with' or the 'Celiac Disease - Post Diagnosis, Recovery/Treatment(s) ' forums! I think you certainly are 'entitled' to posting in those. ;)

There should be a Gluten Intolerance Limbo forum....

I keep waiting for my test results....logging into my e-mail account at my HMO

hoping to see them...

Waiting is killing me...

Most of us would frown on that since we have always made an effort to clarify that we don't give a rat's behind whether or not you heard those words from a doctor's lips or not, we are all in this together! We don't discrimate! LOL!

It's funny reading what you said about your brother's denial, it sounds all to familiar. I am currently awaiting the diagnosis that I feel is inevitable, but still like to try and "defy the odds". For instance last night I ate fries and a bagette sandwich for supper, and have barly left the bathroom since, but yet I still want to tell myself "maybe I have a virus or something", even though I clearly know what is going on. Denial is a funny thing.....

Now the goober e-mails me and says..."I been on the toydee all morning".

I asked him if he believed and told him to "repent sinner". I figured it out the same way.

 You said 'goober'

But seriously, remember when you needed to see for yourself? This is what he's going through right now. ;)

Yes and watching him do exactly the same thing I did is cracking me up  This will go on for weeks

Yea--it'll be like watching a movie where you already know the ending :D

Jerry, I'm right there with ya--still waiting for that biopsy result. Every time my phone rings I pick it up thinking it will be them. It's killing me!

I also just did what your brother did--had lots of gluten for lunch thinking "Oh, it's probably all my imagination anyway--I'm really not gluten intolerant". I guess we'll see later today, won't we?

Perhaps your brother will now see it for what it really is...has he been tested yet?

No, he hasn't been tested...he's figuring since he's my identical twin, the gene and blood tests will

apply for both of us. I know supposedly there's only a 70% chance that an identical twin has it,

but get real...if I have it he does.

They both do.  The peanuts add nutrients to the treat. Tootsie Roll: Sugar, Corn Syrup, Palm Oil, Condensed Skim Milk, Cocoa, Whey, Soy Lecithin, Artificial and Natural Flavors. But M&M's contain milk, and would not be at all like a Tootsie Roll.

I appreciate you validating me because medical is an issue and it's not ok at all they they do this. Some days I just want to call the news media and just call out these doctors especially when they are supposed to be specialist Downplaying when gluten-free when they should know gluten-free is false negative. Now dealing with other issues and still crickets for disability because I show no signs of celiac BECAUSE IM GLUTENFREE! Actively dealing with sibo and skin issues.Depression is the key because thats all they know, im depressed because medical has caused it because of my celiac and related issues. I should have never ever been employed as a bus driver. After 3 years still healing and ZERO income desperately trying to get better but no careteam for celiac other than stay away frim wheat! Now im having care because my head is affected either ms or meningioma in go in tomorrow again for more scans.I know im slowly dying and im looking like a disability chaser

M&M Peanuts. About the same calories and sugar while M&M Peanuts have fiber, potassium, iron and protein that Tootsie Rolls ("We are currently producing more than 50 million Tootsie Rolls each day.") don't. Click the links to compare nutritional values.  Both are made with sugar, not high fructose corn syrup.  I use them as a gluten free substitute for a peanut butter sandwich.  Try her on grass fed, pasture fed milk. While I get heartburn at night from commercial dairy milk, I do not from 'grassmilk'.

I see it everyday on my feeds.  They go out and buy gluten-free processed products and wonder why they can't heal their guts.  I don't think they take it as a serious immune disease. They pick up things off the internet which is so far out in left field.  Some days I would just like to scream.  So much better when we had support groups and being able to teach them properly. I just had an EMA blood test because I haven't had one since my Doctor moved away.  Got test results today, doctor ordered a D3 vitamin test.  Now you know what  type of doctors we have.  Now I will have to pay for this test because she just tested my D3 end of December, and still have no idea about my EMA.
