Flood Control

I'm just wondering what flood control is. I thought it was when too many people were trying to post at once, but here I am one of three members on the board in the middle of the night and keep getting the pink screen telling me that flood control has been enabled and to wait 20 seconds. What is that all about?

I believe it has to do with limiting the amount of spam that gets on the board. :)

This is a limitation on how soon you can post after making a post. It has nothing to do with the time of day, and it does have something to do with spam control among other things.

hmmm... I was wondering about this too..I was checking the board and hadnt been on since the previous day, no new posts and "flood control" came on....

I was thinking more about this and realized that flood control came on when I was just searching through posts. Oh well, I guess it doesn't really matter.

      Hi. So sorry to hear about your shingles. There is a lidocaine cream that you can get at Walmart that will help numb the pain. That's what I used for mine. It can't be put near your eyes or in your ears. I hope your doctor gave you valacyclovir which is an antiviral. It does lessen the symptoms. If it is in your eyes, see an ophthalmologist. If it is in your eyes,  see an ophthalmologist.  They have an antiviral eye drop that can be prescribed.  Shingles in the eye could cause blindness.  I was unsure whether you have celiac or not.  If you do,  follow the diet.  I believe that extra stress on your body does affect everything. Shingles can recur. If you start getting the warning signs of nerves tingling,  see the dr and start taking the valacyclovir to prevent a breakout. If I sound technical,  I am a retired pharmacist.

      It's strange because I'm pretty sure not too long ago I picked up a loaf of bread with B vitamins, but I can't find a single one now.  Probably cutbacks, everyone's trying to save money now!

      Eating grains typically depletes certain B vitamins, so I'm not sure why they decided to fortify with calcium and iron, but hopefully we'll see more B vitamin fortification in gluten-free products going forward.
