Resume And Cover Letter And References

Hi

I am sending out my resume, cover letter and three references in a large envelope. i know stapling is frowned up so should i just paper clip them? put them in a special folder? its a school social work job.

I don't clip or do anything...I put them in the envelope, in the order of cover letter, resume, references, all in there "loose"

Me too, using nicer than usual paper.

I receive resumes at work, I also councel students on resume prep, definitely do not bund them together. The first thing I do is staple the pages together so I dpn't lose them, but others may use a folder system. Also a plus to use nice paper but not anything to frilly, just a good quality lazer paper, not the cheap stuff. I would stick with white. You resume should stand out by it's own merits, not by the neon purple card stock it is printed on.

I had to take a business communications course for my degree requirement. As stated above, do not staple and also use a good quality white paper. Good luck.

When you go to stationery store ask for bond paper, 24 lb. stock and get envelopes to match (unless you need to use heavyweight envelope, then don't bother with envelopes to match.
