Anyone Buy A Crockpot Recently?

I need to replace my crockpot because the lid (plastic) is warped. It's 15 years old.

Has anyone bought one recently? I read reviews on Amazon for the new ones and they all say that they run really hot and burn things. Anyone tried a West Bend?

I have two different size crockpots from brand name 'Rival' that have always worked superbly for me. Don't you just love these things? I think we got ours at Walmart.

Hi Cheri :D ,

I've had my Rival 6 Quart Oval Smart Pot for about 5 years. I love it! It's big enough to make a good sized roast, turkey breast, etc.

I've never had a problem with burning....the lid is glass, and the whole thing still looks like new.

I got mine at Sears, at the time I think it was around $40.

I also have a Rival Crockpot. Mine has three(instead of the normal two) settings - Low, High, Warm. I have never had any problems with it.

I have a rival also. I bought it at costco 2 years ago. It is HUGE, and has 2 inner stoneware pans, one is divided. It has a glass lid. I have never had any problems with it, I love it.

Yay! Rival! Very good crockpot, helper for those with time management issues, delicious food maker! Yes, good brand.

Thanks for the feedback... I was looking at the Smartpot one and that's the one that got the lousy reviews.

I'm going to go to the stores and look this weekend.

I have the Rival 3 qt oval one. I like it, although I'd like the 6 qt for bigger parties, etc. It's nice and ALWAYS does a nice job. I got the one with a removable crock (do they even make the other kind anymore???). I LOVE that feature.

I too mourned the loss of a crockpot, especially after my first attempt at replacement burned EVERYTHING! Despite the bad reviews on so many crockpots, I got up the courage to try another one in the fall and ordered the Rival-64451LD-C-Cooker-Little-Dipper from Amazon for $40. It's awesome and can even go overnight without burning!!!

BTW, we've done other articles on this topic that I wanted to share here (not to condone smoking!):

Hi everyone  This has been a crazy year so far... How many people actually get entire sensory overload from gluten or something similar ?  My jaw is going nuts ..and that nerve is affecting my upper back and so on ...  Bones even hurt.  Brain fog. Etc  I had eggs seemed fine.   Then my aid cooked a chicken stir fry in the microwave because my food order shorted a couple key items .   I was so hungry but I noticed light breading and some ingredients with SOY !!! Why are we suffering with soy ? This triggered a sensitivity to bananas and gluten-free yogurt it seems like it's a cycle that it goes on.  The tiniest amount of something gets me I'm guessing the tiny bit of breading that I took one tiny nibble of ...yikes ..im cringing from it .. Feels like my stomach is going to explode yet still very hungry 😔  How long does this last?! Thank you so much

I have had orthodontic work done. The 3M invisalign material was no problem. BUT my retainers are another matter. They seemed okay for a few months. Now, however, they cause a burning sensation on my tongue, gums and insides of my lips. The burning sensation is now spreading to my throat. I notice it when I breathe. This is annoying and interferes with my enjoyment of eating. I am visiting with my provider tomorrow. We'll see where this goes from here.

Exactly which blood tests were done? There are a few different ones and some docs don't do them all. Also, your results and reference ranges for each?
