Hello this is my first post, been reading but just signed on to chat. Was diagnosed about one year ago and still figuring the diet out. I was wondering if anyone knew about energy drinks, like red bull or rockstar. Also heard a rumor there could be gluten in toothpaste? Thanks for your help , Margaret

I have no idea about the energy drinks. I do know that when I called Crest a couple months ago they said all their toothpastes are gluten free. Oral-B (they also make Zooth character toothpastes for kids) are not gluten free. They will not tell you any of their products are gluten free and my son was getting sick from their toothpaste.

Redbull is gluten-free.

Met with Dietitian on 19th and one of the things I was told is that only Crest and Colgate are gluten-free.

Rock star energy drinks are gluten and vegan free!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (Open Original Shared Link) drink up. It is the one thing I refuse to eliminate from my gluten-free diet.

I haven't had any reaction at all to Vitamin Energy, but Vitamin Water gives me a little grief. I would think it would be the other way around. Any insight on this?

YES!!!!

I drank a bottle of XXX Vitamin water December 27th and I had a swollen itchy face and horrible stomach swelling and pain before I even finished the bottle. I checked the label and calcium lactate and magnesium lactate are listed on the ingredients.

Here's where it got interesting:

I emailed the company and asked them about the source for these chemicals - they are both derived from lactic acid - and they stated that their product was vegan and all but told me I was a kook for saying I had a reaction to their product. I do have severe reactions to milk and that was the same reaction I have when I eat cheese on accident. Lactic acid can be made from beets, but I highly doubt that their supplement came from beets if I had such a strong reaction to it.

Jason Natural's kids line of toothpastes are gluten-free, but I have not checked on their adult line yet.

Are you sure Redbull is gluten-free? My tummy gets really bloated - I think the caramel colouring has gluten in it - Kim.

I don't think Rockstar is gluten-free - the caramel colouring causes me problems. As does Redbull and ginger ale - Kim.

Kim, please be aware that you are responding to a 4-year old thread and the original posters are probably no longer active on the forum. Caramel color here in the U.S. should be safe.

So I've been dealing with chasing the name celiac because of my body actively dealing with health issues related to celiac though not eating. Diagnosed in 1994 before foods eliminated from diet. After 25 years with former pcp I googled celiac specialist and she wasn't because of what ive been through. I wanted my results to be sent to my pcp but nothing was sent.I have email copies.I did one zoom call with np with team member from celiac specialist in Nov 2025 and she asked me why I wanted to know why I wanted the celiac diagnosis so bad, I sad I don't, its my life and I need revalidaion because its affecting me.KB stated well it shows you are.I asked then why am I going through all this.I was labeled unruly. Its been a celiac circus and medical has caused anxiety and depression no fault to my own other than being born with bad genetics. How is it legal for medical professionals to gaslight patients that are with an ailment coming for help to be downplayed? KB put in my records that she personally spent 120min with me and I think the zoom call was discussing celiac 80 min ONE ZOOM call.SHE is responsible for not explaining to my pcp about celiac disease am I right?

I've noticed with my age and menopause my smell for bread gives me severe migraines and I know this. Its alarming that there are all these fabulous bakeries, sandwich places pizza places popping up in confined areas.Just the other day I suffered a migraine after I got done with my mri when a guy with a brown paper bag walk in front of me and I smelled that fresh dough bread with tuna, I got a migraine when we got home.I hate im that sensitive. Its alarming these places are popping up in airports as well.I just saw on the news that the airport ( can't remember which  one)was going to have a fabulous smelling bakery. Not for sensitive celiacs, this can alter their health during their travel which isn't safe. More awareness really NEEDS to be promoted, so much more than just a food consumption!FYI I did write to Stanislaus to let them know my thoughts on the medical field not knowing much about celiac and how it affects one.I also did message my gi the 3 specialist names that was given on previous post on questions on celiac. I pray its not on deaf door.
