Mom's Prepping Now

Hey everyone,

My mom who is 65 years old is getting ready to get tested tomorrow. She was told a long time ago she has a wheat allergy, but has continued to eat wheat for years. My sister and I are both celiac. Mom is diabetic and has sooo many of the symptoms. She went gluten lite prior to the bloodwork and it was negative (we told her not to). The doctor told her there was a 95 percent chance that she didn't have celiac from the bloodwork. What do you think that meant?

Anyway, hopefully we'll get some answers tomorrow. She's also planning on going to an allergist once this test is done.

Thank you so much. I do to.

She's had such a tough time with diabetes and it's never stable no matter how 'good' she is on her diet. I really think something else is going on.

Called her a few minutes ago and her sugar level is stable and she sounds fine. Taking her in at 7:30am tomorrow. Yes, hoping for a 'true' biopsy.

What DM meds is she on??? Is she insulin dependent?

The Lindt (Lindor) dairy-free oat milk truffles are definitely gluten-free, and (last time I checked) so are the white chocolate truffles and the mint chocolate truffles.

I've used magnesium taurinate and magnesium taurate vitamins.  Didn't notice much of a difference when I used them.

Anyone experimented with Taurine supplementation either via electrolyte powders or otherwise? Thanks

More great tips, and a good excuse to shop at M&S and also buy more iced buns!   I wish we had an ASDA near us, as the few times we've been to one their gluten-free pasta range seemed very reasonably priced compared to other shops.  Thanks so much, @Russ H.
