okay so I have some very important questions (because I'm too lazy to search the thread  ):

How awesome are the pearl concealers LOL? Should I order sunlight pearl and pick me up pink pearl?

Has anyone tried pink lemonade or soccer practice lip gloss?

I am SO excited about being able to order samples of any blush! :D :D :D :D :D

dlp252 Apprentice

Mango, I think you HAVE to get the pearl pick me up pink! Don't you LOVE the regular PUP?! OH, and I think you HAVE to get the pearl MINT!!!! Kermit should always be pearly!

Okay...another important question:

can anyone compare ivory foundation to multi-tasking? I'm guessing ivory is a bit lighter?

AndreaB Contributor

Donna,

I've been reading. So can you still get the coupon code or it is too late for this order.

Mango,

I forget what lip color I ordered.......

Ok, I checked....it's spring pink so I can't help you there.

I didn't use multi-tasking very much, but yeah, I think ivory is lighter. I thought it was too light for me, but the times I wore it I got a lot of compliments.

I think it's too late. I guess I could try to cancel the order and redo it, lol. Or, I can just be lazy and let it go...still 20% would have paid for the shipping!

Ughhhh, i just filled my cart and was going to order. I thought my cc info was saved and guess what it isnt and hubby has the card. I put in the discount and it worked to, it barely covers shipping but that is ok. I really hope i can still use the code hubby is home lol. I need to email them to and get my money that they owe me deducted from this order lol.

Now for the next big decision....shipping. I have the option of getting my make-up in two days for only $101 dollars   There's also $9 shipping option, and dhl ground claims it can get to me in three days for $24. Can dhl ground get to the Czech Republic in three days for $24?  LOL

confused Community Regular

I dont think it can lol.

My shipping was 13 for usps. It was going to be 58 for second day.My order was only 55 to begin with. Im tempted to run to hubbys job and get the cc lol

I would guess that they can, however, there may be a small delay withing the CR....

Okay so it turns out it was basing the shipping on my old US address - I just switched it to my Prague address and now dhl is $602. I could freaking fly to Texas and pick it up myself for that price   I think I'll chose first class priority mail LOL

Okay, someone posted this on the forum on the old site...I have nooooo idea where they got it or anything, but they just posted it today AFTER I ordered, lol:

I need opinions...

Should I buy a long handled kabuki, angled blush brush or new flat top brush? I think I mainly want to use it for finishing powder and my first layer (primer). I already have a baby kabuki and that's what I mainly use for foundation.

Anyone have a favorite?

Well I can tell you that the flat top brush is FAR superior to the baby kabuki. I LOVE the flat top :D. It is very soft and luxurious. I'll be getting the long handled kabuki with my next order, so I can't really say anything about that yet. I like the angled brush blush, but I actually don't use it very often (I still use my BE brushes for blush  )

Edit: sorry, I meant to say angled BLUSH brush. I'm tired. LOL Time for bed. Everyone cross your fingers for me that my order doesn't sit in customs for two months....

confused Community Regular

Kassandra,

I use the new flat top brush for everything. I actually have 2 of them lol. One is for foundation and one is for finishing dust. I use the angled blush brush for my sunlight concelor and blush.

:o !!!! WOW, um yeah, I could take a small vacation for that money, lol. By-the-way I do have Pink Lemonade (got it as a freebie a few orders ago)...I was confused yesterday because I thought I had it, but it wasn't on my spreadsheet. Looked last night and sure enough I have it. I put it out on the counter so that I could try it this morning...and...promptly forgot. It still sits on my counter. :P I remember that I thought it was okay, but it was in the THIRD drawer of my lip gloss drawer, and the THIRD drawer is reserved for lip gloss that I will likely NEVER wear. Middle drawer is for yeah, I like this well enough, but don't wear it often, and the top drawer is for my favorites. Next best thing to a spreadsheet! :P

I LOVE all three of them. I use the flat top to put on my silk dust (first layer), the long handled kabuki for foundation (second layer) and the angled brush for blush. If I had to rank according to favorites: LHK, FT then angled. The angled brush is small...the brush part is smaller than a lot of other blush brushes I've used. So I have two...the small one I use for very lightly pigmented blush because it puts it on more concentrated, then I have a fluffier one that I got at Target which I use to put on more pigmented stuff--puts it on lighter.

I'd say the long handled kabuki is my most favorite

LOL Okay....I absolutely cannot do spreadsheets, but I might be able to handle some sort of drawer-related organizational system  Will have to try that soon. B)

I'd venture to guess that if you did have pink lemonade on your spreadsheet, your trusty spreadsheet would tell you that it's a few shades too light. Just a guess though.

You guys...I might have to turn to the dark side for a while and buy a non EM  foundation to tide me over while I wait for my order to arrive. Any brand suggestions?:ph34r:

dlp252 Apprentice

Sorry Mango, no suggestions from me...everything else makes me itch or break out.

So, I emailed EM to see if they would apply the discount to my order since the announcement about the special wasn't up when I posted, but says orders "from June 4". I'll see what they say.

The forum is up at the new site now too!

Ok I feel like an idiot,. I never knew you all put an silk dust on under your foundation. I have always jsut put my sunlight under my eyes then straight to foundation, blush then finishing dust. Well today i tried silk dust under and what an difference it made, I also finally wore mascara again after an year. I had an very good makeup day today lol.

Donna,

Are you able to get the discount after all

paula

ShadowSwallow Newbie

AH!!! I was planning on putting off buying my makeup for a while... but 20% off? Must buy! Must buy!:P

Kassandra, I love the LHK, I can't use the FTB anymore since it irritates my skin (and I've got one unused one... should probably put it up on the swap board) and I'm definitely going to be buying another LHK. I like using a big brush to apply blush... or I end up with a splotch of color instead of something natural.

Has anyone tried the rice powder? I'm going to be ordering a mini size.

I'm still not sure what to do with everything.

I have the start to finish powder which I assume is used before the foundation? :P

Birdy,

By all means.....order! :D

Thank you so very much Scott.  Just having someone understand my situation is so very helpful.  If I have one more family member ask me how my little itchy skin thing is going and can't you just take a pill and it will go away and just a little bit of gluten can't hurt you!!!! I think I will scream!!
    • Scott Adams
It is difficult to do the detective work of tracking down hidden sources of cross-contamination. The scenarios you described—the kiss, the dish towel, the toaster, the grandbaby's fingers—are all classic ways those with dermatitis herpetiformis might get glutened, and it's a brutal learning curve that the medical world rarely prepares you for. It is difficult to have to deal with such hyper-vigilance. The fact that you have made your entire home environment, from makeup to cleaners, gluten-free is a big achievement, but it's clear the external world and shared spaces remain a minefield. Considering Dapsone is a logical and often necessary step for many with DH to break the cycle of itching and allow the skin to heal while you continue your detective work; it is a powerful tool to give you back your quality of life and sleep. You are not failing; you are fighting an incredibly steep battle. For a more specific direction, connecting with a dedicated celiac support group (online or locally) can be invaluable, as members exchange the most current, real-world tips for avoiding cross-contamination that you simply won't find in a pamphlet. You have already done the hardest part by getting a correct diagnosis. Now, the community can help you navigate the rest. If you have DH you will likely also want to avoid iodine, which is common in seafoods and dairy products, as it can exacerbate symptoms in some people. This article may also be helpful as it offers various ways to relieve the itch:

It's very frustrating to be dismissed by medical professionals, especially when you are the one living with the reality of your condition every day. Having to be your own advocate and "fight" for a doctor who will listen is an exhausting burden that no one should have to carry. While that 1998 brochure is a crucial piece of your personal history, it's infuriating that the medical system often requires more contemporary, formal documentation to take a condition seriously. It's a common and deeply unfair situation for those who were diagnosed decades ago, before current record-keeping and testing were standard. You are not alone in this struggle.
    • Scott Adams
Methylprednisolone is sometimes prescribed for significant inflammation of the stomach and intestines, particularly for conditions like Crohn's disease, certain types of severe colitis, or autoimmune-related gastrointestinal inflammation. As a corticosteroid, it works by powerfully and quickly suppressing the immune system's inflammatory response. For many people, it can be very effective at reducing inflammation and providing rapid relief from symptoms like pain, diarrhea, and bleeding, often serving as a short-term "rescue" treatment to bring a severe flare under control. However, experiences can vary, and its effectiveness depends heavily on the specific cause of the inflammation. It's also important to be aware that while it can work well, it comes with potential side effects, especially with longer-term use, so it's typically used for the shortest duration possible under close medical supervision. It's always best to discuss the potential benefits and risks specific to your situation with your gastroenterologist.
    • Scott Adams
Based on what you've described, it is absolutely possible you are dealing with non-celiac gluten sensitivity (NCGS).  Approximately 10x more people have non-celiac gluten sensitivity than have celiac disease, but there isn’t yet a test for NCGS. If your symptoms go away on a gluten-free diet it would likely signal NCGS.   Your situation is a classic presentation: a negative celiac panel but a clear, recurring pattern of symptoms triggered by gluten. The symptoms you listed—particularly the extreme fatigue, bloating, neurological-psychiatric symptoms like depression and anxiety, and even the skin manifestations like facial flushing—are all well-documented in research on NCGS. It's important to know that you are not alone in experiencing this specific combination of physical and emotional reactions. The only way to know for sure is to commit to a strict, 100% gluten-free diet under the guidance of a doctor or dietitian for a period of several weeks to see if your symptoms significantly improve. It is also crucial to rule out other potential causes, so discussing these symptoms with a gastroenterologist is a very important next step.
