I'm 28 years old and have celiac. I have been gluten-free for about 7 mo. I'm 5'7 and weigh 106lbs. I'm trying to get pregnant (my ob said its fine to try now) but have been unsuccessful (5 mo. trying) I had my first daughter a year and a half ago. I started out at 129lbs and delivered at 139. I lost all pregnancy weight plus in about 4 months and was diagnosed with celiac later. I'm scared that something is still wrong because I got pregnant the first time trying last time and now it seems to be taking awhile. I dont eat anything unless it says gluten-free but Im still not gaining fast (only 9 lbs in 7 mo.) I could really use some advice on what could be going on thanks

There might be something else going on besides Celiac. Have you gone back to the doc about it? Had some tests done? When you DO eat, what are you eating? Just some things to think about...

I have gone to my doctors and every thing seems fine to them. I have had lots of tests for my pituitary glands, thyroid, gluten levels, dairy intolerance etc. everything is fine, the dr.s just say it might take awhile to gain giving a small frame. When I eat which is all the time, its usually gluten-free pancakes, eggs, or cereal in morning, fruit, cheese for snacks lunch is usually some sort of rice noodle dish, I make gluten-free bread all the time which I eat with lunch and dinner, and dinner is usually meat, veggies and potatoes. I also snack all throughout the day. My husband cant believe how much I eat in a day because for awhile I kept a food journal for my doctors to look at to see if I am eating right. I dont know if stress could be a problem, it could be because I do have the stress of my mom was just diagnosed with breast cancer, my husband just changed jobs and works a lot, money with holidays coming up. If it's not stress I dont know what it is.

Hi Kay,

Hang in there, and yes it could be the stress or ur trying to hard like we were for our third when I told my hubby 18 years ago I'd had enough trying I went to the doc and was 14 1/2 weeks prego and didn't have a clue lol

Just try to relax more and I know with all that's going on in your life that doesn't seem possible to do,and I feel for you and will say some prayers for things to get better for you and your's.

It is like with my new daughter-in-law the doc told her to not try so hard and not to worry things looked fine and in time it would happen for her to just relax a bit more and let nature take it course(not trying to sound mean).

So hang in there we will be thinking of you !

Good luck!

don't worry. as much as i wish it would have happened right away it took us a year almost to the day to get pregnant. i find out tuesday if it's a boy or girl :D are you using anything like the fertility awareness method or a fertility monitor? if you do an internet search for either one of those you should gets links to lots of good information. we started using a fertility monitor towards the end of the year and i swear that is what got me pregnant. good luck! it'll happen soon, you are on the right track!

Are your cycles regular?

If you take your temperature every day upon waking at the same time, you can see if you are ovulating. Your temperature will shift about 4/10's of a degree halfway through the month when you ovulate.

Estrogen is fat soluble, so if your body fat is still too low, your weight could be the problem.

Have hubby take Vitamin C, it's good for things on his end. :)

I would also suggest a GOOD prenatal from a health food store.

Are you have good cervical mucus? This is the stuff like raw egg white that you see in the middle of the month. If you're not, vitamin A helps ... all you need to do is eat a few carrots every day. Cervical mucus is the sign that you are fertile ... so that's when you want to be trying. ;)

for over a year my cycles have been the same..28 days. we started trying in july and in october I was 2 days late which of course led me to believe I was pregnant. I wasnt, so that month it was 30 days. last month it was 31days. I went to the doctor to test because I kept getting negetives, but both blood and urine came back negetive. The nurse said not to be concerned until we have tried unsuccessfully for one year, which I know is normal, and that the change in cycle could be stress but I still can't shake the feeling I am doing something wrong. I have been checking my cervical mucus for awhile which truthfully I really can't miss so I am guessing thats not a problem. My husband is one of eight kids and has two children from a previous marrige, and we have a daughter together, so I dont think there is a problem with his end. I guess I am just getting frustrated because 2 of my friends and my cousin are expecting in May, June, and July, and only one of them were trying. I am just hoping this year for christmas I can tell my husband we are expecting! my expected period is Dec. 21st. fingers crossed. Thank you to everyone for your advice!

I do believe that people are under so much pressure up have a sleeping  pattern ,  with working and how households work these days , but in reality there is no wrong or right at to sleep , I believe your neighbour showed this with such a long life , I do exactly the same  at night many times so I hope I live into my nineties also , I have found one thing in life your body knows what's best so good to listen to wat it needs however unconventional that maybe 🤗

Try adding some Thiamine Hydrochloride (thiamine HCl) and see if there's any difference.  Thiamine HCl uses special thiamine transporters to get inside cells.  I take it myself.   Tryptophan will help heal the intestines.  Tryptophan is that amino acid in turkey that makes you sleepy after Thanksgiving dinner.  I take mine with magnesium before bedtime.

I live in the upper mid-west and was just diagnosed with marsh 3c celiac less than a month ago.  As a 51 year old male, I now take a couple of different gluten free vitamins.  I have not noticed any reaction to either of these items.  Both were purchased from Amazon. 1.  Nature Made Multivitamin For Him with No Iron 2.  Gade Nutrition Organic Quercetin with Bromelain Vitamin C and Zinc Between those two, I am ingesting 2000 IU of vitamin D per day. Best of luck, Known1

I am doing a gluten challenge right now and I bought vital wheat gluten so I can know exactly how much gluten I am getting. One tablespoon is 7g so 1½ tablespoons of Vital Wheat Gluten per day will get you to 10g You could add it to bean burgers as a binder or add to hot chocolate or apple sauce and stir.

Raising you vitamin D will increase absorption of calcium automatically without supplementation of calcium.  A high PTH can be caused by low D causing poor calcium absorption; not insuffient calcium intake.  With low D your body is not absorbing calcium from your food so it steals it from your bones.  Heart has priority over bone. I've been taking 10,000 IU D3 a day since 2015.  My doctor says to continue. To fix my lactose intolerance, lots of lactobacillus from yogurts, and brine fermented pickles and saurkraut and olives.  We lose much of our ability to make lactase endogenosly with maturity but a healthy colony of lactobacillus in our gut excretes lactase in exchange for room and board. The milk protein in grass fed milk does not bother me. It tastes like the milk I grew up on.  If I drink commercial milk I get heartburn at night. Some experts estimate that 90% of us do not eat Adequite Intake of choline.  Beef and eggs are the principle source. Iodine deficiency is a growing concern.  I take 600 mcg a day of Liquid Iodine.  It and NAC have accelerated my healing all over.  Virtually blind in my right eye after starting antihypertensive medication and vision is slowly coming back.  I had to cut out starches because they drove my glucose up into the 200+ range.  I replaced them with Red Bull for the glucose intake with the vitamins, minerals and Taurine needed to process through the mitochodria Krebs Cycle to create ATP.  Went from A1c 13 down to 7.9.  Work in progress. Also take B1,B2,B3,B5,B6. Liquid Iodine, Phosphatidyl Choline, Q10, Selenium, D and DHEA.     Choline supplemented as phosphatidylcholine decreases fasting and postmethionine-loading plasma homocysteine concentrations in healthy men +
