We will host Christmas Dinner at our house this year, 3 celiac + 3 non-celiac.

Standing Rib Roast

Smashed Red Potatoes

Swiss Green Bean Cass.

Pretzel Salad

Corn Cass.

Chocolate Cream Pie

Sugar Cookies

Macroons

Fudge

Everything will be gluten free. I have been testing recipes for the past couple of months.

Sounds wonderful! But I have to ask-- what is a Pretzel Salad???

Pretzel Salad is a layered salad. 1st layer is a mixture of pretzels, butter and sugar. 2nd layer is a cream cheese layer and the 3rd layer is a jello/strawberry layer. One of our Christmas favorites at Christmas time.

Your menu sounds great.

I made the pretzel salad a couple of years ago and it came out GREAT! It had been a traditional holiday/Christmas dish in our family for years too.

I used Ener-G pretzels.

How do you make your swiss green bean casserole? i'm looking for a good casserole to make as a side dish and can't seem to find anything, Also do you have a cheesy potato casserole recipe? Thanks,Lori

We have a pot luck dinner with five couples and our now adult children. I found out today that the Turkey will be stuffed.

SOOOOOOOOO...I am going to cook myself a Cornish hen so I can have my own "individual" turkey - and I'm not going to share!

Stuffing - all gluten

Green beans with toasted almonds and lemon.

Green bean Casserole (yuck - even before Celiac)

Corn Pudding (stepfather making, he's supposed to use gluten free breadcrumbs!)

Green Bean Casserole (using funions and Progresso Creamy Mushroom)

Mashed Potatoes

Sweet Potatoes

Coleslaw

We're having cupcakes (gluten-free), and my aunt is bring Gluten stuff...:(

Happy, though!!! mmmmm...can't wait!

      Shingles is dormant and related to chicken pox when one has had in the past.Shingles comes out when stress is heightened.I had my 3rd Shingles in 2023.

      Oats naturally contain a protein called avenin, which is similar to the gluten proteins found in wheat, barley, and rye. While avenin is generally considered safe for most people with celiac disease, some individuals, around 5-10% of celiacs, may also have sensitivity to avenin, leading to symptoms similar to gluten exposure. You may fall into this category, and eliminating them is the best way to figure this out. Some people substitute gluten-free quinoa flakes for oats if they want a hot cereal substitute.
