Gluten-free Bar Suggestions, Please?

Wow, I am soooo glad I'm not the only bar addict here. (Hmm, that could be taken badly, but you know what I mean. ;) )

I have a TERRIBLE habit of not eating all day and then eating all evening. That's gotten even worse since being gluten-free and not having my bars at hand.

Now I have lots of new ones to try!

I tried them anyway, but yuck. :P

I had the same reaction my first time. The only ones I could really tolerate were the cinnamon and apple ones.

I love KIND bars. They have dates, nuts, and fruit. I would not consider them a meal replacement bar, rather for a cookie fix.

I do like kind bars as well. Lots of nuts and fruit, but more nuts :) I had to stop eating them though, because I have bad TMJ problems, and they're kinda crunchy.

Open Original Shared Link - nuts and seeds. I don't see crack listed on the label, but it must be in there because these are addictive!

:)

LOL! These ones are pretty decent, I only REALLY like the chocolate one.

Oh, and another bar that hasn't been mentioned yet is PureFit. A lot more like a "power bar"...at least, from what I remember of power bars. More chewy, and pretty good. They have peanut butter, almond, and chocolate brownie flavors. If you visit the website, there's a sample kit you can buy, it's like $5, and you get one of each. I did that, and was pretty impressed. Couldn't decide on a favorite though. And never got around to ordering more. Wish they had them at my local HF store. Easier than buying online.

I like the Goraw pumpkin seed bars. Daughter eats the bars from Enjoy Life. She also likes these:

These are the BEST. Open Original Shared Link

They are gluten AND dairy free which is good b/c I'm allergic to both. (and wheat.) These taste amazing, no aftertaste.

The ONLY problem I have with them is that they are sugar free as well - and that can upset your stomach if you're sensitive to it, so I can't eat more than one a day. You can buy them cheaper on Amazon. (or buy the $3 sampler, they'll send you 5 bars) I sound like I work for them but i dont  it's just so hard to find bars that are free of everything i'm allergic to, so if these every went out of production i would die. seriously, starve to death.

(oh and for the record - Soyjoy bars taste like dirt. That's even insulting to dirt.)

I have trouble with nausea. It often starts when I’m anxious about something (home repairs, sick dog) but continues long after the home is repaired or the dog is healthy again. When it happens I eat less and lose weight.  My gastroenterologist suggested ginger or peppermint tea. I don’t know if that will work or not because I haven't had the problem since she suggested it.

Hello  I'm not sure what to think . Seems no matter what I do I get sick. I had some yogurt with only 2 grams of sugar and is labeled gluten free ...the strawberry version seemed to really set me off My jaw is burning as well as my stomach and my feet.  Horrible pain..plus acid reflux and nausea... sensitivity to touch pain. ..yikes !! I don't know if it's from the lactose in the yogurt or if I'm getting an ulcer  This condition can make you question yourself quite a bit.  Then if you are not sure the anxiety comes 😞 Does any of these symptoms sound familiar to anyone? The neuropathy is quite intense.  What do you eat or drink after this happens  Open to suggestions  Thank you

Of course my son is on a 100% gluten free diet.  I wish his symptoms were not debilitating as there are right now.  He cannot work, even when a miniscule of cross contamination occurs.  It's not just GI distress, but intense fatigue, brain fog, depression, anxiety, insomnia, etc.  It's literally neurological inflammation.  Not to be taken lightly here.  We have sought out many other possible ways to cope during this window of time (8 months!!!!)  without success.   AN-PEP does not help and seems like studies on this are not well researched.  So, we are trying this out because research shows some promising results.  And, all participants showed no cravings afterwards, no signs of addiction.  The patch is different than the oral route such as smoking, vaping, gum, pouch, etc.

Have you tried AN-PEP enzymes, for example, GlutenX (who is a sponsor here)? A lot of research has shown that it can break down small amounts of gluten in the stomach, before it reaches the intestines. It might be a better approach than risking nicotine addiction, and the questionable research around this. I also hope that he’s trying to be 100% Gluten-Free.

Hi all  I was diagnosed Coeliac a few years ago and follow a gluten free diet. The list of foods that I can eat without a problem grows shorter on a weekly basis. [I also have diabetes and asthma also].  BUT the reason I am posting this is because I seem to struggle with nausea quite a lot, which is really quite debilitating, and I was wondering if others suffer from nausea, even if following a gluten free diet.
