Supplements

Does anyone here have problems taking supplements? for some reason i cant tolerate any type of herbal or vitamin supplement.

My stomach problems started after i took a 5 month course of antibiotcs for a prostate infection. Before the stomach problems developed, some supplements really helped with my prostate but now they will just mess up my stomach if i try to take them and as a result im living with urinary discomfort on top of all my other issues.

I feel like one thing will aggravate the other...if i take something that might help my stomach it will have an adverse effect on my prostate and vice versa. does anyone have any suggestions? also, am i the only guy on here?

Thanks,

Jason

Are the supplements you are or were taking gluten free? I like Nature Made.

Centrum changed their formula this past year and they cannot say that it is gluten free. I called them a couple months ago and they said that they hope sometime in the near future they will be gluten free again.

My husband can eat gluten but he gets upset stomachs when he takes vitamines (don't know why).

A lot of people tend to do better with vitamines when they eat something before or after taking them.

Sorry I don't have much knowledge with your complete question but hope it helped some.

No, you are not the only guy on here :) There are a couple of guys that post a lot on here all the time and then some that you will see once in a while posting.

Hope you can figure out the supplements situation.

GOOD LUCK

On the topic of supplements.....

Has anyone heard of/tried this?

I saw it in Living Without Magazine.

Some of us who post on the huge OMG thread have had a lot of problem finding supplements we tolerate. One thing that has been helpful has been to find an alternative therapist who does ART testing. This is able to test the supplements for what your body wants, tolerates, and what doses and whether the supplements agree with each other and your body. It has been quite helpful for a number of us.

I'm also wondering if the supplements are gluten-free. Many contain things I cannot have, even when they are gluten-free, such as dairy. If you are sensitive to gelatin, you'd need to either use Vcaps, tablets, liquids, or powders. But still do be careful to only use supplements which have all the ingredients listed, and have a list of things they don't contain.

I find Open Original Shared Link and Source Naturals do a pretty good job listing ingredients.

So I've been dealing with chasing the name celiac because of my body actively dealing with health issues related to celiac though not eating. Diagnosed in 1994 before foods eliminated from diet. After 25 years with former pcp I googled celiac specialist and she wasn't because of what ive been through. I wanted my results to be sent to my pcp but nothing was sent.I have email copies.I did one zoom call with np with team member from celiac specialist in Nov 2025 and she asked me why I wanted to know why I wanted the celiac diagnosis so bad, I sad I don't, its my life and I need revalidaion because its affecting me.KB stated well it shows you are.I asked then why am I going through all this.I was labeled unruly. Its been a celiac circus and medical has caused anxiety and depression no fault to my own other than being born with bad genetics. How is it legal for medical professionals to gaslight patients that are with an ailment coming for help to be downplayed? KB put in my records that she personally spent 120min with me and I think the zoom call was discussing celiac 80 min ONE ZOOM call.SHE is responsible for not explaining to my pcp about celiac disease am I right?

I've noticed with my age and menopause my smell for bread gives me severe migraines and I know this. Its alarming that there are all these fabulous bakeries, sandwich places pizza places popping up in confined areas.Just the other day I suffered a migraine after I got done with my mri when a guy with a brown paper bag walk in front of me and I smelled that fresh dough bread with tuna, I got a migraine when we got home.I hate im that sensitive. Its alarming these places are popping up in airports as well.I just saw on the news that the airport ( can't remember which  one)was going to have a fabulous smelling bakery. Not for sensitive celiacs, this can alter their health during their travel which isn't safe. More awareness really NEEDS to be promoted, so much more than just a food consumption!FYI I did write to Stanislaus to let them know my thoughts on the medical field not knowing much about celiac and how it affects one.I also did message my gi the 3 specialist names that was given on previous post on questions on celiac. I pray its not on deaf door.
