Can someone give me the name of calcium supplements that are gluten-free/cf that are gentle on the stomach? I have not been taking calcium supplements like I should because I haven't found one that doesn't seem to upset my stomach.

Also, what is a good multivitamin?

Thank you for any advice you can give.

There are some from Open Original Shared Link which I like, since they are in powdered form. They are very good about labeling their products as to what's in them and what's not. Calcium can tend to drag down the digestive process a bit, and I've found magnesium helps balance it out pretty well. It does depend on how much you take at once too.

I also had trouble taking calcium I now take Citracal calcium citrate PLUS with Vit D and Magnesium and have had no trouble at all. As RiceGuy said, the magnesium helps a great deal. I also take NatureMade multivitamins. They are gluten-free as is most of the products in their line. Oh, and the Citracal is gluten-free, also, of course. Hope this helps.

I'm extremely sensitive and I do well with Caltrate 600 with Vitamin D. I take 2 per day--one with breakfast and one with dinner.

I take Viactive soft chews. They work well for me.

I second the Citracal - Gluten-free Casein-free and very gentle on the stomach.

I have had a reaction (similar to caffeine) to several gluten-free vitamins.

My health food store helped out, suggested TwinLab Allergy Multi Caps. They do not say gluten-free on the bottle but company confirmed (purchased about 6 weeks ago, so you may wish to call and reconfirm, 1 800 645 5626).

I tolerate these better than other multi's - and I take with food at breakfast and/or lunch (not dinner) to avoid any mid-sleep energy bursts!

Thank you both very much. I’m pretty familiar with the various tests, and my older two girls with official dxs have even participated in research on other tests as well. I just felt overwhelmed and shocked that these recent results (which I found pretty dang conclusive after having scott clean labs just six months ago) would still be considered inconclusive. Doc said we could biopsy in another six weeks because my daughter was actually way more upset than I anticipated about the idea of eating it for years before doing another biopsy. It doesn’t hurt her, but she’s afraid of how it may be hurting her in ways she can’t feel. She’s currently eating mini wheats for breakfast, a sandwich with lunch, and a side of pasta along with every dinner, so I’m hoping we’re meeting that 10g benchmark mentioned in that second article!

Have you tried a genetic test to look for Celiac genes?  No gluten challenge required.

Hello, @ElisaAllergiesgluten, Have you tried going on a low histamine Paleo diet like the Autoimmune Protocol diet?  A low histamine AIP diet would help your body rid itself of the extra histamine it's making in response to allergies.  Are you Celiac as well?   Since we need more thiamine when we're stressed, adding Benfotiamine, a form of Thiamine Vitamin B 1, can help the body calm down it's release of histamine.  Benfotiamine improves Sailors' asthma.

Don't skimp on the gluten daily while undergoing the gluten challenge!

So, I've been using a gluten free labeled toothpaste since being diagnosed with celiac. No big deal, the toothpaste seems to work. Question is, I just realized it contains hydrated silica.  Now, I've heard that silicon dioxide can cause issues in some people with celiac (was that ever confirmed though?), so to be safe, I cut it out of my diet entirely. But, as I understand it, hydrated silica is related to silicon dioxide. Is that something to worry about, or is the hydrated form not known to cause issues like the silicon dioxide form?  I've never seen it in food, but nearly every toothpaste I look at contains hydrated silica?  Issue or not?  Any scientific research (Not opinion pieces, not health bloggers, you get my gist), but actual science, that says it's an issue? I have a hard time believing 99% of what I read on random internet searches.    Thanks so much, Renee.
