I wish I could post a picture of this because it was hilarious (as I understand it posting pictures is not allowed.). But on a recent trip to Mendoza, Argentina, I went to the zoo and you will never guess what I came across as one of the animals on display....

GUINEA PIGS!!!! I just thought this was hilarious. Lion, tiger, camel, guinea pigs, sheep, giraffe, and elephants, all your run of the mill zoo animals. :D

HAHAHA! I think guinea pig is on the menu in Peru!

Totally off topic - how was Mendoza? I'm about 4 hours away but haven't made the trip yet.

haha! I know there's an ecuadorian dish called cuy (pronounced "Kwee") that's fried guinea pig...I wouldn't be suprised if you can find it in other South American countries!

Yeah, they do eat guinea pig in Peru, I have a Peruvian friend and he broke the news to me.

Mendoza is great. I stayed there for a week during the fiestas patrias. They have a route where you can bicycle to all of these bodegas. It is really cheap to rent a bike and certain bodegas are free. It was too big to see everything, but there are a lot of ferias in the street. The zoo is huge (3 hours to see everything). It's really pretty, kind of in a natural setting, but a bit sketchy too. There was a monkey and bird that had escaped from their cages. When we told the people that worked there they said "Es normal."

I know this is the free of gluten-free section, but I have to say, there is a huge grocery store chain there that has a TON of gluten-free products (CHEAP gluten-free products). The store that had the most selection was next to plaza Chile (Hard to miss.)

I have to ask you kschauer about how you eat in Vi

BTW, we've done other articles on this topic that I wanted to share here (not to condone smoking!):

Hi everyone  This has been a crazy year so far... How many people actually get entire sensory overload from gluten or something similar ?  My jaw is going nuts ..and that nerve is affecting my upper back and so on ...  Bones even hurt.  Brain fog. Etc  I had eggs seemed fine.   Then my aid cooked a chicken stir fry in the microwave because my food order shorted a couple key items .   I was so hungry but I noticed light breading and some ingredients with SOY !!! Why are we suffering with soy ? This triggered a sensitivity to bananas and gluten-free yogurt it seems like it's a cycle that it goes on.  The tiniest amount of something gets me I'm guessing the tiny bit of breading that I took one tiny nibble of ...yikes ..im cringing from it .. Feels like my stomach is going to explode yet still very hungry 😔  How long does this last?! Thank you so much

This is an older article, but may be helpful.

I have had orthodontic work done. The 3M invisalign material was no problem. BUT my retainers are another matter. They seemed okay for a few months. Now, however, they cause a burning sensation on my tongue, gums and insides of my lips. The burning sensation is now spreading to my throat. I notice it when I breathe. This is annoying and interferes with my enjoyment of eating. I am visiting with my provider tomorrow. We'll see where this goes from here.

Exactly which blood tests were done? There are a few different ones and some docs don't do them all. Also, your results and reference ranges for each?
