Mono And Digyclerides

The Kids Folks

Recommended Posts

The Kids Folks Apprentice

Hi - we're 4 months new to the WF/gluten-free diet which has been wonderful!! Everyone is feeling so much better.

I am wondering what folks know about mono and digycleride (sp?). Is it gluten containing or not? I read somewhere that it may/may not be wheat or corn based. I've read somewhere else that it is a concern if it is in dry food. I noticed that it is listed on ice cream and was also listed on dry coffee mixes.

So does anyone know if this is a concern for someone on a wf/gluten-free diet?

Thanks so much - I love this board!

Mono and diglycerides are gluten-free. So are triglycerides, for that matter.

The Lindt (Lindor) dairy-free oat milk truffles are definitely gluten-free, and (last time I checked) so are the white chocolate truffles and the mint chocolate truffles.

I've used magnesium taurinate and magnesium taurate vitamins.  Didn't notice much of a difference when I used them.

More great tips, and a good excuse to shop at M&S and also buy more iced buns!   I wish we had an ASDA near us, as the few times we've been to one their gluten-free pasta range seemed very reasonably priced compared to other shops.  Thanks so much, @Russ H.
