Amount Of Gluten Trigger When You React?

Does anyone else react worse days after a glutening?.....

So I had a small screw up on Saturday night. I was out and had a few drinks, which I know where gluten free b/c its what I always drink...plus I brought them with me!

Later on I had some bagged chips from the bar, which I have also had before with no problem. I checked the ingredients and everything to make sure.

I never eat chips b/c I try to avoid nightshades and unhealthy foods alltogether...but I splurge on occasion usually with no problems...

Well, out of supidity one of my friends offered me some BBQ chips. Of course since I was drinking I didnt think and just reached in and took one...and then thought "oh crap"....checked the ingredients and there it was "barley"....I didnt even read anymore...I only had one chip and thought well, ok, it wont be that bad...

I felt kinda naucious on and off that night, but nothing I couldnt handle... I figured it was just the chips and drinking in general....

I woke up on sunday with lack of sleep so I wasnt feeling that great b/c of that. I had a few extra trips to the bathroom and one case of D, but it wasnt a bad as I thought.....then Monday came and I started feeling super fatigued, gassy (foul smelling), and even woke up with a muscle pulled in my back. My sinuses started acting up and I got a headace..so I took IB profin and went to bed early last night....slept for 10 hours, woke up today and felt like a train ran me over...

Pretty much every muscle in my body is aching and IB profin is the only thing helping me...its 800mg and I'm still feeling pain....I've also been chilled on and off and get fatigued very fast...especially if I eat something....so I've been resting all day....

I didnt go to school, couldnt even think about working out. I'm also on day 40 of my menstrual cycle with still no period...so I cant tell if my problems are gluten or that....my cycle is so messed up and it has often been leaving me feeling sick. actually, on sunday, my water retnetion got so bad that it hurt to press my skin...then I felt it hurting my muscles...so maybe my muscle aching is from that...

So I'm thinking the way I feel is a combination of everything...I'm just wondering if it was the nightshades or gluten that bothered me more...or maybe I have just been overly stressed...dont you love going through these thought proccesses???

All I know is no more white potatoes for me...

sorry if my writing is all jumbled...I'm also having "brain fog" cant think straight!!! so frustrating!

It could be a combination, but honestly when I got glutened about 2 weeks ago, it was from cross-contamination of using the same fork, I didn't even think about and it knocked me on my butt for 48 hours. So yes, a little bit can definitely mess you up to the point of feeling like "death".

I hope you feel better.

While it definitely could be gluten, bear in mind that depending on where you are there is a nasty bug going around that causes fatigue, achiness, fever chills etc I had it this weekend (still have some of it) and so have most of the people in our office.

I hope you are feeling better soon. I feel the gluten 45 minutes after eating it and 3-4 minutes after smelling lots of it. When I ingest it, I'm like you and the aches and pains build for a few days then start to fade on day 4 or 5. Ibuprofin also helps me as well as taking a 1/4 of a benadryl (check gluten-free) to get some comfortable sleep on the weekends. I wish you well. I poisoned myself today, and am dreading the next few days.

Hi everyone  This has been a crazy year so far... How many people actually get entire sensory overload from gluten or something similar ?  My jaw is going nuts ..and that nerve is affecting my upper back and so on ...  Bones even hurt.  Brain fog. Etc  I had eggs seemed fine.   Then my aid cooked a chicken stir fry in the microwave because my food order shorted a couple key items .   I was so hungry but I noticed light breading and some ingredients with SOY !!! Why are we suffering with soy ? This triggered a sensitivity to bananas and gluten-free yogurt it seems like it's a cycle that it goes on.  The tiniest amount of something gets me I'm guessing the tiny bit of breading that I took one tiny nibble of ...yikes ..im cringing from it .. Feels like my stomach is going to explode yet still very hungry 😔  How long does this last?! Thank you so much

I have had orthodontic work done. The 3M invisalign material was no problem. BUT my retainers are another matter. They seemed okay for a few months. Now, however, they cause a burning sensation on my tongue, gums and insides of my lips. The burning sensation is now spreading to my throat. I notice it when I breathe. This is annoying and interferes with my enjoyment of eating. I am visiting with my provider tomorrow. We'll see where this goes from here.

Exactly which blood tests were done? There are a few different ones and some docs don't do them all. Also, your results and reference ranges for each?
