tis one: "Celiac IgA Serum Units mg/dL Ref Range (68-378) 209" I think is just the total IgA to check if the ttg and antigliadin tests are valid. In case total IgA is low, they run the IgG version of those tests.

I think it means something that there are numbers on your tests and not 0.

I still can't make sense of what the tests mean

Celiac IgA Serum Units mg/dL (68-378) 209

Tissue Transglutaminase Ab IgA Units (0-19) 10

Gliadin Antibody IgA Units 3

It also said Gliadin Antibody IgG but stated no reference range and just said 0

Who knows I give up...

Celiac IgA Serum Units mg/dL (68-378) 209

I believe this is the total serum IgA test. It is not specific to celiac disease. 209 is within the reference range, indicating your immune system is functioning, and is producing normal levels of antibodies overall. If this value was below 68, it would mean that a negative on the next two (IgA) tests could well be a false result.

Tissue Transglutaminase Ab IgA Units (0-19) 10

The value of 10 is well below the top of the reference range of 0-19.Tests are not perfect, and in some cases a low value instead of zero is just the limitations of the test.

Gliadin Antibody IgA Units 3

No reference range given, but it would be similar to the other IgA test. See my comment above.

It also said Gliadin Antibody IgG but stated no reference range and just said 0

When the result is zero, you don't need a reference range to know that it is a negative result.

I am not a doctor, but my interpretation of those results is (1) your immune system is working, and (2) it is not reacting to gluten by producing antibodies in quantity.

This could still be a false negative if you are not eating gluten in quantity on a regular basis.

You could not have celiac disease, but still be intolerant to gluten. This is the case for my niece (not biologically related to me--SIL's daughter)...Hope that helps.

Thanks...that does explain things...

I do think I am gluten intolerant however, due to the fact I went Gluten Free AFTER the blood work...I am now on Day 5 and

feeling terrific! No more constipation or tummy pains...I just plain feel better...

I wonder...if Gluten Intolerance really does run in families of those with diagnosed Celiac...Hmmm makes me wonder...

The Lindt (Lindor) dairy-free oat milk truffles are definitely gluten-free, and (last time I checked) so are the white chocolate truffles and the mint chocolate truffles.

I've used magnesium taurinate and magnesium taurate vitamins.  Didn't notice much of a difference when I used them.

More great tips, and a good excuse to shop at M&S and also buy more iced buns!   I wish we had an ASDA near us, as the few times we've been to one their gluten-free pasta range seemed very reasonably priced compared to other shops.  Thanks so much, @Russ H.
