I'm having a party on Saturday and my cousin is eating gluten free and dairy free. Does anybody have any ideas for something she can dip veggies into that meets both those requirements?

Thanks!

What about some hummus? I love carrotts dipped in peanut butter.

hummus (regular, sun-dried tomato, w/ fresh italian herbs, extra garlic, etc.) , black bean dip, guacamole, fresh salsa, raw ranch dip (made w/ cashews, no dairy).

those are the ones I usually make.

You could do a nacho nut cheese. Raw cashews, an orange, a red bell pepper, a hot pepper and a bit of nutritional yeast mixed in the food processor.

We really liked this one:

You could make guacamole or just use refried beans or try this one:

or try one on here:

found under appetizers:

Pinto Bean Dip or Spicy Black Bean Dip

I make layered dip and leave off the cheese and sour cream.

refried beans

guacamole

salsa

tomatoes

green onions

jalapenos

olives

whatever you like...

Babaganoush is also wonderful. It's an eggplant spread. Tahini is generally ground sesame seeds but read the ingredients first.

I know this is too late for Saturday, but in case it helps someone else.

I make a quick dip that's sort of like a ranch or onion dip.

To some mayonnaise (about a fourth of a cup), I add a pinch of yeast flakes to give it a cheesy taste, onion powder, garlic powder, salt and pepper. I sometimes add dill weed. One could also add bacon bits (from fried bacon). If it's too thick, add a little water.

If I have made some cashew cheese and have that on hand, I will add it (about half and half "cheese" and mayonnaise). Won't need the yeast flakes then.

It all blends well with a fork or small whisk.

This was a great travel dip - I had the mayonnaise jar in the cooler and the other ingredients in separtate small containers. Whenever I wanted a dip for my veggies, I quickly mixed up a small amount. At home it keeps for several days.

This treatment looks promising. Its aim is to provoke immune tolerance of gluten, possibly curing the disease. It passed the phase 2 trial with flying colours, and I came across a post on Reddit by one of the study volunteers. Apparently, the results were good enough that the company is applying for fast track approval.  Anokion Announces Positive Symptom Data from its Phase 2 Trial Evaluating KAN-101 for the Treatment of Celiac Disease https://www.reddit.com/r/Celiac/comments/1krx2wh/kan_101_trial_put_on_hold/

BTW, we've done other articles on this topic that I wanted to share here (not to condone smoking!):

Hi everyone  This has been a crazy year so far... How many people actually get entire sensory overload from gluten or something similar ?  My jaw is going nuts ..and that nerve is affecting my upper back and so on ...  Bones even hurt.  Brain fog. Etc  I had eggs seemed fine.   Then my aid cooked a chicken stir fry in the microwave because my food order shorted a couple key items .   I was so hungry but I noticed light breading and some ingredients with SOY !!! Why are we suffering with soy ? This triggered a sensitivity to bananas and gluten-free yogurt it seems like it's a cycle that it goes on.  The tiniest amount of something gets me I'm guessing the tiny bit of breading that I took one tiny nibble of ...yikes ..im cringing from it .. Feels like my stomach is going to explode yet still very hungry 😔  How long does this last?! Thank you so much

I have had orthodontic work done. The 3M invisalign material was no problem. BUT my retainers are another matter. They seemed okay for a few months. Now, however, they cause a burning sensation on my tongue, gums and insides of my lips. The burning sensation is now spreading to my throat. I notice it when I breathe. This is annoying and interferes with my enjoyment of eating. I am visiting with my provider tomorrow. We'll see where this goes from here.
